UNIT DESCRIPTION
Water treatment system and controller for swimming pools.
Water treatment: Chlorine is produced by electrolysis of salt water, using salt water of low salinity. Production of sodium hypochlorite (liquid chlorine) in the electrolysis cell is achieved with a minimum of 3g salt per litre. The chlorine combats and eliminates bacteria, viruses and pathogenic agents, and oxidizes organic matter present in the water. The used sodium hypochlorite reconverts into salt after a few hours. The system centralises control of all pool equipment, optimising interactions between the various installations.

ASSEMBLY AND CONNECTION OF THE CELL
- Install the cell in a vertical position
- Install the cell on by-pass
- Install the cell at the highest point of the installations
- Connect the cell and the gas detector to the electronic box
N.B.: If the unit is being installed for a pool that has already been treated with chlorine, we recommend total renewal of all water in the pool so that the cyanuric acid (chlorine stabiliser) does not distort measurements made by the rX (redox) probe.
ELECTRONIC PANEL FOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
MAIN SCREEN
ELECTROLYSIS
- Electrolysis:
- Programming of electrolysis functions.
- Level:
- Desired chlorine production (g/h).
- Boost (super chlorination):
- Filtration for 24h at maximum-intensity. Automatic return to programmed filtration mode.
- During the boost period the Rx control can be deactivated.
- Cover:
- Reduction of chlorine production activated by closing the automatic cover.
- See section on Cover.
MEASUREMENTS / Setpoints
- Measurements:
- Adjustment of setpoints and measuring probes.
- Setpoints for each measurement.
- Setpoint settings:
- configuration of the ideal levels for each parameter.
Default values:
- pH: 7.2 – 7.5
- Rx: 600 – 800
MEASUREMENTS – pH calibration
- Calibration of pH probe:
- Recommended every month during the season of use.
- Calibration with buffers (buffer solutions pH7 / pH10 / neutral):
- Follow the 7-step instructions that are shown on the display.
- Example of first step of calibration with buffers. Continue with the following steps.
Measurement and control of the pH of the water
- Manual calibration: Allows adjustment of the probes to 1 objective measurement (without buffers) – only recommended for correction of small deviations in the readings.
- Without removing the probe from the water, use the plus / minus keys to adjust the reading so it matches with your reference value (photometer or other measuring device).
MEASUREMENTS – Rx calibration
The Rx value gives information about the oxidation/reduction potential and is used to determine the water sterilization capacity. The setpoint is the minimum Rx value for activation/deactivation of the titanium cell. Adjusting the ideal Rx level (setpoint) is the last step in the system set-up. Follow these steps to determine the ideal Rx levels for your pool:
- Connect your pool filtration system (the salt in the pool must be completely dissolved).
- Add chlorine to the water until a level of 1-1.5 ppm is reached (approx. 1-1.5 g/m3 water). pH levels should be between 7.2 – 7.5.
- After 30 minutes take a reading of the free chlorine level in the pool (manual test kit DPD1). If the free chlorine level is in the range 0.8 – 1.0 ppm, look at the value on the Rx display and put this value into the memory as the setpoint to activate/deactivate the electrolysis/hydrolysis cell.
- The next day check the levels of free chlorine (manual test kit DPD1) and Rx. Raise/lower setpoint if necessary.
- Remember to check the Rx setpoint every 2-3 months and/or when the water parameters change (pH/temperature/conductivity).
- Calibration of Rx probe:
- Recommended every 2 months during the season of use.
- Calibration with buffer (buffer solution 465 mV): Follow the 4-step instructions that are shown on the display.
- Example of first step of calibration with buffers. Continue with the following steps.
Measurement and control of Rx as the control value of free chlorine
- Manual calibration: Allows adjustment of the probes to 1 objective measurement (without buffers) – only recommended for correction of small deviations in the readings.
- Without removing the probe from the water, use the plus / minus keys to adjust the reading so it matches with your reference value (photometer or other measuring device).
MEASURES – Temperature calibration
- Temperature probe necessary to activate the smart filtration mode
Connection
- Black
- Yellow
- Red
- Temperature calibration.
- Manual calibration: Allows adjustment of the probes to 1 objective measurement.
- Use the plus / minus keys to correct the difference between the measured value of the probe and the actual temperature. Set to the actual temperature of the probe and press OK.
FILTRATION – Manual mode
Connection
- For set-up and connection of a UVariable Speed Pump, see section on Filtration / Variable Speed Pumps.
- Filtration:
- Configuration of the filter pump control. To configure this, select Filtration and confirm by pressing OK . A mode is selected from the Mode listing, using the plus/minus keys.
- Manual:
- Manually turns the filtration process ON or OFF. No timing or additional functions. The Status line indicates whether the filtration pump is ON or not.
- See section Filter Cleaning below.
FILTRATION – Automatic mode
Automatic (or with timer):
- In this mode the filtration is switched on in accordance with timers that allow adjustment of the start and end times of the filtration. Timers always operate daily, in cycles of 24 hours.
- To set the ON/OFF times (configuration of up to 3 times possible), use the up/down keys in the timer line that you want to change (1-3).
- Open the start time input field for the selected timer using the plus/minus keys. Set the time with plus/minus keys. Use the up key to scroll up to the minutes input field and set this using plus/minus keys. To confirm press OK and to cancel press return/escape. To set the OFF timer, proceed in the same way.
- See section Filter Cleaning below.
FILTRATION – Smart mode
- *Smart:** This mode is based on the automatic or timer mode, with its 3 filtration intervals, but with adjustment of the filtration times as a function of the water temperature. Two temperature parameters are provided for this: the maximum temperature, above which the filtration times will be those set by the timers, and the minimum temperature, below which the filtration time will be reduced to 5 minutes, which is the minimum operating time.
- Between these 2 temperatures the filtration times increase linearly. Use the plus/minus keys to set the desired minimum and maximum temperatures.
- There is the option of activating the antifreeze mode which sets the filtration to run continuously if the water temperature is below 2 °C.
- To set the ON/OFF times (configuration of up to 3 times possible), follow the instructions for the Automatic Mode.
- See section Filter Cleaning below.
* N.B.: Mode only visible when the option to use temperature probe and/or heating is activated in the “Installer Menu”.
FILTRATION – Filter cleaning
Filter cleaning mode (and pool cleaning by suction): From this menu
(accessible from any Filtration Mode) a backwash cleaning of the sand filter
can easily be carried out. Activating this menu from any filtration mode
(Manual, Automatic, Smart), will disconnect the electrolysis/hydrolysis cell.
Then proceed as follows:
- Turn the filter pump OFF using the plus/minus keys.
- Place the filtration pump valve in the backwash cleaning position.
- Turn the filtration pump back ON. You can check the duration of the backwash cleaning by looking at the clock on the screen. Make sure an adequate and complete backwash of your filter has been carried out.
- When you have finished the backwash cleaning, again turn the filtration pump OFF and put the valve back in the filtering position. If you wish, you can now perform a rinse cycle.
- Proceed in the same way as for backwash cleaning, this time placing the filtration pump valve in the rinsing position.
- When exiting the Filter Cleaning menu using the return/escape key, the system will revert back to the mode programmed previously.
