Introduction
Thank you for purchasing this AED Audio Rigging Bumper.
This manual (hereinafter referred to as the “Manual”) is intended to be used
as work of reference for professional, well trained and authorized users to be
able to safely install, use, maintain and repair the product mentioned on the
cover of this document (hereinafter referred to as the “Product”). The
observation of the Manual does not dispense the user from the observance of
the local safety instructions and regulations other than provided by the
Manual. Such safety instructions and regulations must be observed at all time.
For information about specific adjustments, maintenance or repair jobs which
are not dealt within this manual, please contact your Product supplier or AED
Audio. If you suspect that the Product is damaged or detect a potential or
actual danger when using the Product, immediately discontinue use of the
Product and contact your supplier. To ensure the safe use of the Product this
Manual must always be kept with the Product in legible condition.

Different setups
Explanation
You can use the Rigging bumper up to 16x AED audio flex 6.
16x AED audio Flex 6 is the maximum.
Example
You can use the Rigging bumper up to 8x AED audio Solid 15.
8x AED audio Solid 15 is the maximum.
The 4 top AED audio Solid 15 speakers must be attached to each other with all
6 rigging pins. ‘
You can use the Rigging bumper with a variation of AED audio Solid 15 and AED
audio Flex 6.
Combination of 4x AED audio Solid 15 and 8x AED audio Flex 6 is the maximum.
The top 4 AED audio Solid15 must be attached to each other with all the 6
rigging pins.
Pre-production of your Line array
We recommend preparing your production from your warehouse, using the AED
audio Touring Dolly. This ensures that the set-up/break-down time is seriously
shortened. Below you will find examples.
Explanation:
Touring Dolly 1:
By using the Touring Dolly you can make your production in your warehouse. If
you put 1x AED audio Solid 15 on the Touring Dolly, you can set all your AED
audio Flex 6 of your line array on top of your AED audio Solid 15. The AED
audio Solid 15 can be used as a DJ monitor sub.
Solid15 with 1st flex6 needs to be stacked on 6 degrees. All the Flex6 can you
stacked on 0 degrees. You can also place the Rigging bumper on top of the
stack.
There is a limit of 1x AED audio Solid 15 and 8x AED audio Flex 6 for 1
Touring Dolly.
Example:
Touring Dolly 2:
By using the Touring Dolly you can make your production in your warehouse. The
second Touring Dolly are only AED audio Solid 15.
The Maximum of this Touring Dolly is 4x AED audio Solid 15.
Example:
With these 2 Touring Dolly Setups, you have a very fast build up / break down.
Below are a few tips that we (from the AED audio team) would like to pass on
to the user of AED audio.
► You can also place the Rigging Bumper on top of the top speaker of your Line
Array.
► You can do all the cabling in advance in the warehouse and leave it plugged
in to all your speakers.
►If you are going to control all the speakers via network (Dante), you can
possibly place the network switch on top of the rigging bumper and leave it
connected.
Transportation, handling and commissioning
Transportation
Keep the product dry and the temperature between 0°C and 30°C to avoid damage
to the bumper. Please always handle with care.
Remove the shipping assembly
Before unpacking the fixture, please make sure that the packaging is in
good condition and that following items will be found in the box:
- 1x AED Audio Rigging Bumper
Remove the tape from the box and open the box. Take the unit out and remove the plastic foil around the unit. Make a visual inspection of the unit. Please check condition of units while unpacking, if any damages occur, the unit must be repaired/replaced before it can be used. Please contact your local distributor for service. If units are damaged and still used, AED Audio cannot be held liable for any risk/danger or occurrence given by these damaged units.
Installation
There are specific regulations like BGV C1 (old VBG 70) or country related
regulations which need to attend during the installation. The installation has
to be handled by skilled persons only!
Suspension device has to be built and calculated in order to handle up to 10
times its specific load limit over a time of one hour without permanent or
harmful deformation.
Installation has to be done with a separate, independent suspension device
like a safety chain.
Trespassing the danger zone below the installation during the assembling is
prohibited.
Installer has to take care of all safety and machinery installations are
approved by authorized persons before first operation or after changes before
restarting.

inspection. Spotlight should ideally installed outside peoples lounge area.
Attention
Installation overhead needs a high level of experience. This includes (but
is not just limited to) calculation and definition of load capacity, used
installation material and regular safety inspections of used material and the
fixture itself. Never try to do the installation by yourself if you are not
qualified, instead you have to instruct a skilled installer. Inappropriate
installations can cause injuries and/or damage of property.
Mounting place must be sufficient stable and be able to support a weight of
10 times of the unit’s weight.
Assure the specified safety distances to flammable material.
Maintenance
Operation only allowed to qualified person, damages due to unprofessional
operation or remove of any parts inside will not be considered in warranty
service. There are no serviceable parts inside the device or package, service
only leaves to authorize dealers.
For this product, an inspection will be required after every rental that takes
place. You will perform a visual inspection of this product every time for
corrosion and oxidation.
– The hard to reach places can be treated with oil or silicone spray to
prevent rusting. Since these ‘oils’ evaporate over time, it is required to
state the maintenance frequency (for example: re-applying twice a year).
– Additionally, it might be necessary to specify a possible after-treatment
when the cabinets were exposed to the elements (for example: drying off /
blowing off the remaining water with compressed air).
– If the Rigging bumper is transported in a closed flight case, you will need
the flight case will ventilated during the period that this item is in your
warehouse.
Repair
If the Product is damaged or malfunctions, contact the AED Audio Service
Department or a AED Audio authorized distributor. Repairs by parties other
than AED Audio or a AED Audio authorized distributor may not involve the use
of AED Audio genuine parts and may affect the safety and functionality of the
Product. For repair options or specific inquiries, please contact the AED
Audio Service Department.
