CLEANING THE OUTSIDE OF THE APPLIANCE

in a bit of soapy water. The control panel must not be immersed in water or
any other liquid.
CLEANING THE INSIDE OF THE APPLIANCE
Clean the inside of the deep fryer every time you change the oil. Clean it as
described below, to keep your deep fryer in optimal condition.
- Remove the lid.
- Take out the frying basket.
- Remove the heating element from the pan.
- Pour the oil out of the pan. Remove the sticky parts with household paper.
- The tough spots can be removed with a kitchen sponge, nylon brush or cloth, with mild soapy water.
- The frying basket, lid with filter and frying pan are dishwasher safe.
- Dry the lid, frying basket and pan thoroughly before placing them back into the deep fryer.
MAINTENANCE OF THE APPLIANCE
- The temperature and the frequency of use are the most important factors for the deterioration of the frying oil.
- For tasteful and healthy frying it is advisable to change the oil regularly. Furthermore, a regular changing of the oil will make cleaning of the pot and the basket easier.
- Some foods such as foods coated with breadcrumbs or spicy foods and meats, can make the oil deteriorate faster. Change the oil when it gets dark or dirty or starts smoking or foams abnormally.
- Always exchange the oil completely, don’t mix old oil with new oil.
- Regularly filtering the oil will improve the quality of the fried foods, but won’t make the oil deteriorate slower.
- Store the frying oil in a cool, dark place. When you seldom use your deep fryer, change the oil every 5 to 6 months.
- Dispose of the frying oil according to the regulations in your town. Never pour old oil into the sink or toilet. This can cause a blockage of the drainpipe and is not ecologically responsible.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Deep-frying oil/fat chance
- Groundnut oil: after 8 to 10 baking sessions
- Vegetable oil: after 10 to 12 baking sessions
- Olive oil: after 8 to 10 baking sessions
- Note: The above-mentioned recommendations are based on an average family and normal use.
CULINARY TIPS
- Every time you heat the oil, it will diminish the quality of the oil. Switch off the deep fryer after every use.
- Replace the oil or fat regularly, especially when the fat is dark or dirty, or when it foams abnormally.
FRENCH FRIES
- Use thick, not-too-new potatoes. Cut them up in sticks. Clean the sticks under running water and dry them off.
- Bake your fries in two times:
- First frying: 150-160°C: 5 to 10 minutes (depending on the amount)
- Second frying: 175°C: 2 to 5 minutes
- Let them drip thoroughly before serving.
FROZEN FOODS
- Frozen foods cool ooffthe oil or fat strongly. Therefore don’t use any large portions.
- Shake the food above the sink to remove most of the ice.
- Set the temperature knob to 175°C. Place the basket slowly and gently into the frying pan, to prevent strong bubbling of the oil.
