Product Usage Instructions

  • Handling the Filter
    • Handle the filter with caution to avoid damaging the HEPA surface, which can reduce efficiency. When removing a used filter, protect your hands by using gloves and dispose of it in a plastic bag.
  • Filter Replacement
    • The working life of the filter depends on factors such as filament type, melting temperature, and ambient conditions. Replace the HEPA filter P3D based on the following recommendations:
    • Intensive use: Replace every 3 months
    • Occasional use: Replace every 6 months
    • Do not exceed: 600 hours of use before replacing the filter

FAQs

  • Q: How often should I replace the HEPA filter?
    • A: For intensive use, we recommend replacing the filter every 3 months. For occasional use, replacement every 6 months is advised. Do not exceed 600 hours of use before replacing the filter.
  • Q: What should I do if the HEPA surface is damaged?
    • A: If the white pleated surface of the HEPA filter is damaged, it may lose efficiency. Handle the filter with caution to prevent such damage.
  • Q: Can a saturated filter be recycled?
    • A: No, a saturated filter is not recyclable. Please dispose of it properly in a plastic bag.

FILTER FOR 3D PRINTER

  • HEPA (High-efficiency particulate air) filter category H13 99,95% for the most penetrating particle size (MPPS) 0.3μm. combined with activated carbon granules 1-3mm mesh size.
  • That filter category is recommended by the French National Center of Scientific Research for FDM 3D printers.

DIMENSIONS DRAWING

  • Filter size including the sealing foam.
  • We recommend you follow these dimensions if you want to design a slot for this filter.

Recommendations

  • Handle the filter with caution.
  • If the HEPA surface (the white pleated surface) is damaged, the filter loses efficiency.
  • Protect your hands when you take off the used filter and put it in a plastic bag.
  • A saturated filter is not recycable.

LIFETIME

  • Filter working life is associated with many factors including filament type, melting temperature, concentration of nanoparticles and VOCs, ambient humidity… We suggest to replace HEPA filter P3D according to the following table:
Filter replacement Intensive use Occasional use
3 months 6 months

We do not recommend going above 600 hours of use before replacing the filter.

FIXED DIMENSIONS DRAWING

Notice the frame is assembled by hand and we have a tolerance of +/- 1 mm.

Alveo3D-HEPA-H13-Carbon-Filter-3D-Printer-FIG-1 \(4\)

A slot with dimensions between 116.5mm and 118.5mm is recommended to ensure good sealing.

Alveo3D-HEPA-H13-Carbon-Filter-3D-Printer-FIG-1 \(5\)

We do not recommend making a slot under 116.5mm x 116.5 mm, if you compress more the geometry of the frame will be distorted.
