Product Usage Instructions

For Testex Digital Micrometer

1. Clean the anvils and zero the instrument if needed.
2. Select the correct grade of replica tape from the menu and ensure the HL icon is displayed.
3. Measure the replica tape by pressing the lever, inserting the tape, and releasing the lever.

For Testex Analog Micrometer

1. Clean the anvils and set the dial to 8 mils or 150 microns.
2. Measure the replica tape by pressing the lever, inserting the tape, and releasing the lever.
3. Read the number on the dial and use the conversion table provided to calculate the correct measurement.

Analog Micrometer Conversion Table

Burnish

1. Remove any dust and debris from the surface using cleaning putty or another preferred method.

2. Remove the replica tape from the release paper.

3. Place the replica tape on the surface and apply pressure around the foam to adhere it.
   a. Press the ball of the Testex High Accuracy Burnishing Tool against the replica foam, with enough pressure so that the flat base rests on the replica tape.
   b. Hold the Classic Burnishing Tool and apply consistent pressure with the ball end, being careful not to apply too much force.

4. Use a variety of linear and circular motions to compress the replica foam, until the entire replica foam area has a consistent grey pattern.

5. This can take 10-60 seconds, depending on the pro file height.

6. Remove the replica tape from the surface.

7. Inspect the replica foam to ensure no dust or debris is present.
