Installation

Mounting location considerations

The ideal mounting location is on a wall or ceiling 7-9’ from the ground, with the least obstructed view of the entire floor of the room and at least 3’ up the walls. Avoid placing it in a location where there are close surfaces near the field of view that will reflect the night vision IRLED illuminators. For any LED banks that are intended to be in use, avoid mounting the device within 1.5’ of any corners in that direction.
When installed on a wall, ensure that the lip of the mounting bracket is towards the bottom. Whenever installed, after sliding the camera onto the mounting bracket, secure the camera to the lip of the mounting bracket with the lock screw.

Registration procedure

Once the camera is mounted, apply power. The camera starts up in provisioning mode, with the LED solid blue. Log in to the SafelyYou installer app and follow the instructions there. This will result in a QR code to show to the camera. Hold the QR code 6 inches in front of the lens. Once the camera reads the QR code, the led will start flashing blue, and the camera will apply the network configuration and register itself. If this succeeds, the light will turn off, and the provisioning is complete. If it fails, the light will change color to red for 10 seconds and then go back to the solid blue provisioning mode. In that case, please confirm the unit id, network configuration, and other settings in the SafelyYou installer app and try again.

Troubleshooting

To restore the device to factory default settings, insert a sim tool or paperclip into the reset hole to press and hold the reset button for ten seconds. Once the LED is solid blue, proceed with the Registration Procedure above.

Compliance Statements

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) statement
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

1. Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
2. Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
3. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
4. Consult the dealer or experienced radio TV technician for help.

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

1. This device may not cause harmful interference, and
2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

CAUTION:

Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the grantee of this device could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

When using IEEE 802.11a wireless LAN, this product is restricted to indoor use, due to its operation in the 5.15- to 5.25-GHz frequency range. FCC/Industry Canada requires this product to be used indoors for the frequency range of 5.15 GHz to 5.25 GHz to reduce the potential for harmful interference to co-channel mobile satellite systems. High-power radar is allocated as the primary user of the 5.25- to 5.35-GHz and 5.65- to 5.85-GHz bands. These radar stations can cause interference with and/or damage to this device. The antennas for this device are not replaceable. Any attempt at user access will damage your computer.

FCC Radiation Exposure Statement

To comply with the FCC RF exposure compliance requirements, the separation distance between the antenna and the body of all persons must be at least 20 cm (8 inches).
Industry Canada Statement / Règlement d’Industrie Canada

This Class B digital apparatus complies with Canadian ICES-003 and RSS247. This device contains licence-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s licence-exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

1. This device may not cause interference.
2. This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device.

The device operation in the band 5150–5250 MHz is only for indoor use to reduce the potential for harmful interference to co-channel mobile satellite systems.

This equipment complies with IC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20 cm (8 inches) from the body of all persons.
Cet équipement est conforme aux limites d’exposition aux rayonnements IC établies pour un environnement non contrôlé. Cet équipement doit être installé et utilisé avec un minimum de 20 cm de distance entre la source de rayonnement et votre corps.
