Thank you for purchasing a Voyager Electric Vehicle. This manual contains information for proper operation and maintenance of your new Voyager Electric Vehicle. We recommend that you go through and get familiar with the operation of your Voyager Electric Vehicle before you begin with the initial use. While these vehicles are made for recreational fun and enjoyment, they can cause injury if they are not operated and handled properly. Please be cautious and follow all warning instructions so that damage to the vehicle and those operating it can avoid injury and harm. Please check all local road laws and regulations as well as driving laws before operating your Voyager Electric Vehicle.

Warranty and Registration

Use Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) approved parts to keep the warranty effective. All information, including coverage, limitations, exclusions and how to obtain warranty service is included in the Warranty package with the purchase of the vehicle. It can also be obtained from your Voyager Electric Vehicle dealer.
A Registration Form is included in the literature package with the purchase of the vehicle or found on www.voyagerelectricvehicles.com. This Registration Form must be completed and sent to Adventure Manufacturing within 30 days of purchasing your Voyager Electric Vehicle. Failure to register your Voyager Electric Vehicle may void warranty coverages.

Battery Prolonged Storage

CAUTION
Improper storage may damage, destroy or cause permanent loss of battery capacity. Do not exceed storage time or temperature limits. Batteries must be charged to the correct level before storage. Storing fully depleted batteries will make them permanently unusable.

Storage Preparation

The optimum storage temperature range is between 65°F and 82°F (18°C and 28°C)

1. Charge the lithium battery pack based on climate during storage period.
   a.) In cold climates, fully charge the battery. Make sure that the charging operation is complete and there are no faults displayed on the charger. The green light on the charger should be on, indicating the charge cycle is complete.
   b.) In hot climates, store the vehicle with a 30% to 50% charge of battery pack capacity.

2. Turn the key to the OFF position and remove it from the key switch.

3. Turn the Lithium Battery “off” by holding the battery power button in for 3 seconds then release. It will take up to 15 seconds for the battery blue light around the power switch to turn completely off.

CAUTION
ALWAYS STORE YOUR VOYAGER ELECTRIC VEHICLE IN THE “RUN/STORAGE” MODE.

General Safety

WARNING

• While our vehicle is designed for simple operation, please make sure to observe all safe operating instructions. Please carefully read and understand all safety labels attached to your Voyager Electric Vehicle. Always replace any damaged or missing labels.
• Steep hills allow the vehicle to move at faster speeds than normal speeds on a flat surface. To prevent the loss of vehicle control and possible injury, speeds must be controlled using the brakes.
• Any operation of your Voyager Electric Vehicle above the maximum specified speed can cause damage to the drivetrain components. The damage caused by excessive speeds, above the recommended maximum speed, can cause loss of control and damage to your Voyager Electric Vehicle. All damages caused by excessive speeding, abusive driving and anything outside the recommended driving instructions will not be covered under the warranty.
• The person who services your Voyager Electric Vehicle needs mechanical skills and experience to know possible hazardous conditions. Incorrect service or repairs can cause damage to the vehicle or make the vehicle dangerous to operate.

CAUTION

• This vehicle was designed and assembled in the United States of America (USA). The standards and specifications in the following information originate in the USA unless otherwise indicated.
• When servicing motors, all adjustments and replacement components must be per original vehicle specifications to maintain the USA Federal and State emission certification applicable at the time of manufacture.
• Certain replacement parts can be used independently and/or in combination with other accessories to modify a Voyager Electric Vehicle to permit the vehicle to operate at or in excess of 20 mph. When a Voyager Electric Vehicle is modified in any way by the distributor, dealer or customer to operate at or in excess of 20 mph on public streets or roads, UNDER FEDERAL LAW the modified product will be a Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) subject to the structures and requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 571.500. In these instances, pursuant to federal law the distributor or dealer MUST equip the product with a DOT windshield, headlights, rear lights, turn signals, seat belts, top, horn and all other modifications for LSVs mandated in FMVSS 571.500, and affix a Vehicle Identification Number to the product in accordance with the requirements of FMVSS 571.565. Pursuant to FMVSS 571.500, and in accordance with the state laws applicable in the places of sale and use of the product, the distributor, dealer or customer modifying the vehicle also will be the Final Vehicle Manufacturer for the LSV and required to title or register the vehicle as mandated by state law.
• Information on FMVSS 571.500 is found at Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations, section 571.500. For information online, go to www.ecfr.gov.
• Voyager Electric Vehicles will NOT approve distributor, dealer or customer changes that change a Voyager Electric Vehicle Golf Cart product into a Voyager Electric Vehicle Low Speed Vehicle (LSV).
• This vehicle meets the current applicable standard for safety and performance requirements for a golf cart classification.

Manufacturer’s Intended Use (as a Golf Cart)

• This vehicle is designed and manufactured to help transport people to and from desired destinations. Use on public streets, roads or highways is illegal in most areas and increases the risk of an accident involving other vehicles and people. This vehicle does not meet FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) for public street, road or highway use.
• Check all laws and regulations before choosing an area to operate your vehicle.

Manufacturer’s Intended Use (When equipped as a Low Speed Vehicle)

• If your Voyager Electric Vehicle has been equipped as a Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV), specific state and county regulations will dictate where and how your LSV can be operated.
• THE VOYAGER ELECTRIC VEHICLE SHALL BE OPERATED ONLY BY PERSONS WITH VALID DRIVERS LICENSES, AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE STATE REQUIREMENTS. THIS IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT AND IS IMPORTANT TO THE SAFE USE AND OPERATION OF THE PRODUCT.
• All customers should adhere to this SAFETY RESTRICTION, in connection with the use of all Voyager Electric Vehicle products, new and used, in personal transportation applications. Federal Low-Speed Vehicle Standard (FMVSS 571.500) can be obtained at Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations, section 571.500, or through the Internet at the website for the U.S. Department of Transportation – at Dockets and Regulation, then to Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (Transportation). All vehicles can be used for a variety of tasks often beyond the original intended use of the vehicle; therefore, it is impossible to anticipate and warn against every possible combination of circumstances that may occur. No warning can replace good common sense and prudent driving practices.

Maximum Weight Capacity

WARNING
Exceeding the weight capacities can cause loss of vehicle control and possible injury or death.
Do not exceed the maximum vehicle weight capacity (includes weight of operator, passenger, cargo and accessories).

• Maximum Vehicle Weight Capacity – Four (4) Passenger Configuration 600 lbs.
• Maximum Vehicle Weight Capacity – Six (6) Passenger Configuration 900 lbs.

Tire Pressure

WARNING
Improper tire pressure or uneven tire pressure can cause loss of vehicle control and possible injury or death.
Maintaining correct tire inflation pressure is essential for safe vehicle operation. You can vary the inflation pressure within the recommended range to suit the condition of the terrain.

Operator Safety

Safe and responsible use of this vehicle is necessary to prevent dangerous conditions for the operator, passengers, and other people in the area of operation. This section of the manual provides information on the safe operation of the vehicle. Make sure you read, understand, and comply with this information to decrease the risk of personal injury or death.

WARNING

Serious injury or death can occur if you do not follow the instructions and procedures shown in this Owner’s Guide.

• Read this entire manual and all product labels carefully. Follow the safety information and operating procedures described.
• Operate your vehicle responsibly to prevent dangerous conditions for the operator, passengers, and other people in the area of operation.
• Operate your vehicle responsibly and keep the vehicle in safe condition of operation.
• A damaged vehicle, or a vehicle that is not functioning properly, is dangerous and must not be operated until repairs are made.
• Keep feet, legs, hands, and arms inside the vehicle at all times.
• The driver must keep both hands on the steering wheel and both feet on the floor or pedals.
• Inspect the vehicle before each use to make sure it is in safe operating condition. Perform the daily inspection described in this manual. See page 21.
• Always have the vehicle checked by an authorized dealer if it is involved in an accident.
• Remove the key when the vehicle is not in use to prevent accidental starting or unauthorized use.
• Drive the vehicle at appropriate speeds for the terrain and conditions. Be aware of environmental conditions that change the terrain and your ability to control the vehicle.
• Do not drive on excessively steep hills. Evaluate the terrain before descending a hill. Drive slowly and deliberately. Use the brake to limit speed and maintain control. Sudden braking or turning can cause loss of vehicle control. Drive straight up or down the hill; do not drive across the hill.
• Operate only in approved areas. Follow all applicable safety rules for the area.
• Avoid driving on terrain that is too rough for your vehicle’s capabilities and your driving skills.
• Before you drive in the reverse direction, make sure the area behind the vehicle is clear. Accelerate slowly and avoid making sharp turns.
• Make sure the direction selector is in the correct position before you press the accelerator pedal.
• Decrease speed before and during turns.
• Decrease speed when driving on wet or slippery surfaces.
• Bring the vehicle to a complete stop before you move the direction selector.
• Do not exceed the cargo or vehicle weight capacities. Do not exceed the occupant capacity. See VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS on page 10 for the vehicle load and seat capacity.
• If there is a risk of lightning, leave the vehicle and look for a safe location to wait until the lightning has stopped. Additional information about safety is included throughout this manual.

Unauthorized Operation

Any person who does not have a valid driver’s license is not permitted to operate the vehicle. Any person who is below the height of 59 in. is not permitted to operate the vehicle.
Leaving the key in the ignition allows unauthorized operation of the vehicle by an unlicensed driver or someone who does not meet the height requirement. Always remove the ignition key when the vehicle is not in operation.

Operating without Instruction

Operation of this vehicle without proper instruction increases the risk of an accident. The operator must understand how to operate the vehicle correctly in different situations and on different types of terrain.
All operators must read, understand, and comply with all Warning and Instruction Labels before operating the vehicle.

Alcohol or Drugs

Operation of the vehicle during or after consuming alcohol or drugs can adversely affect operator judgment, reaction time, balance, and perception.
Never drink alcohol or use drugs or medications before or during operation of the vehicle.

Before Operating
Perform the DAILY INSPECTION on page 22 before each use to make sure the vehicle is in safe operating condition. Failure to inspect and confirm that the vehicle is safe to operate increases the risk of an accident.
Follow all inspection and maintenance procedures and schedules described in this Owner’s Guide. See MAINTENANCE on page 23.

• ONLY authorized people should drive your Voyager Electric Vehicle.
• ONLY drive your Voyager Electric Vehicle from the driver’s side.
• ONLY drive your Voyager Electric Vehicle in areas where the vehicle is allowed by law or local regulations and under safe conditions.
• DO NOT allow more people than the recommended capacity on your Voyager Electric Vehicle.
• DO NOT overload your Voyager Electric Vehicle under any circumstances. This can result in motor damage, loss of control of vehicle, danger to both driver and passengers.
• DO NOT operate your Voyager Electric Vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or medications that impair vision and judgement.
• DO NOT climb any slope or go down any slope beyond the gradeability of your Voyager Electric Vehicle.
• DO NOT overtake any other vehicles at crossroads, in low vision areas, or in any other dangerous areas.

While Operating the Voyager Electric Vehicle

• KEEP your entire body inside the vehicle, stay seated, and hold on while the vehicle is moving.
• DO NOT start the vehicle until all occupants are safely seated.
• ALWAYS keep your hands on the steering wheel and your eyes on the path ahead, if you are the driver.
• ALWAYS back up slowly and look behind you before backing up.
• AVOID starting or stopping suddenly.
• AVOID turning the steering wheel too sharply at a high speed.
• ALWAYS drive slowly up or down inclines and hills.
• DO NOT make any modifications or additions to your Voyager Electric Vehicle which may affect the capacity or safety of your Voyager Electric Vehicle.
• DO NOT allow children to play on the vehicle. Children should be seated between adults while the vehicle is moving.

Operating With Passengers or Cargo
The weight of cargo and occupants affects vehicle operation. Carefully calculate how the vehicle is loaded and how to safely operate it.
Do not exceed weight capacities specified for your vehicle. Capacities are listed in MAXIMUM WEIGHT CAPACITY on page 10 of this manual, and on the label affixed to the rear seat deck. As passenger weight increases, cargo weight needs to be adjusted to ensure the maximum vehicle weight capacity is not exceeded.

Driving in Reverse
Make sure the area behind the vehicle is clear before operating in reverse. After making sure it is clear and safe to operate in reverse, accelerate slowly. Avoid making sharp turns in reverse.

Driving a Damaged Vehicle
Driving a damaged vehicle is not safe.
If your vehicle has been involved in any type of accident, have it inspected by a qualified service dealer to verify that it is safe for operation.

Driving at Maximum Speeds
Maximum speed operation increases risk of loss of control. Always drive at a speed that is appropriate for the terrain, visibility, operating conditions, and your skill and experience level. Use the brake to control speed and maintain control of the vehicle.

Driving on Different Surfaces
Driving the vehicle on different surface types can affect handling characteristics of the vehicle. When driving on a dirt road, loose surface or wet grass, the distance required to stop the vehicles will increase.

Driving on Public Roads
Driving this vehicle on public streets, roads or highways could result in a collision with another vehicle. Never drive this vehicle on any public street, road, or highway, including dirt and gravel roads, unless they are designated for off-road use. Most areas prohibit the operation of this vehicle on public streets, roads or highways, and can result in traffic violations and fines.

Turning
Improper or careless turning can cause loss of traction, loss of control, accident, or rollover. Do not turn quickly or at sharp angles. Do not turn at high speeds. Practice turning at slow speeds before attempting to turn at faster speeds.

Driving Uphill
Do not climb hills that are too steep for the vehicle or your driving abilities. Loss of vehicle control or rollover can result from climbing hills incorrectly.

Driving Downhill
Inspect the terrain before descending a hill. Avoid driving across hills. Use the brake to limit speed and maintain control. Loss of vehicle control or rollover can result from driving downhill incorrectly.

Stalling on a Hill
A rollover can result from stalling or rolling backward while climbing a hill. Drive uphill at a constant speed.

Tires
Operating the vehicle with incorrect tires or with incorrect or uneven tire pressure can cause loss of control or an accident. Always use the size and type of tires specified for the vehicle. Always maintain correct tire pressures as specified in Tire Pressure on page 11.

Slippery Terrain
Driving on rough, wet, or loose terrain increases the risk of loss of traction or control, accident or rollover. Drive slowly and use correct turning procedures when operating on slippery surfaces.
Tires that have lost traction, and then regain traction suddenly, can cause loss of vehicle control or rollover.

Battery Charging

• Charging should be performed when ambient temperatures are between 32°F and 131°F (0°C and 55°C). The battery pack is recommended to be charged or topped off after every use.
• The battery management system (BMS) and charger cooperate to make sure that charging occurs at the proper rate for the battery temperature. When the power extension cord is connected to the vehicle, it will determine the charge rate based on the battery temperature and battery current state of charge. NOTE: The charger will not operate under 32°F (0°C).
• Before charging the golf cart, turn the key to the OFF position and remove it from the vehicle. Inspect the charger cord for cracks, frayed wires, or loose connections. If damaged, replace it.
• Inspect the vehicle charger receptacle and charger plug for dirt, debris, or damage. Clean if necessary and replace immediately if damage is found.
• Only charge the golf cart using a dedicated 15-20 amp wall outlet using the provided extension cord. Other extension cords might cause improper connection to the charge receptacle and is not recommended.
• To begin charging the golf cart, connect the charger cord to the vehicle receptacle.

WARNING

• NOTE: It is recommended to run the extension cord through the steering wheel to warn any person that the golf cart is plugged in and being charged. Never turn on or drive the golf cart while it is plugged into the wall.
• When the golf cart charge reaches 100% on the State of Charge Display (SOCD), a green light will also show on the side of the charger located under the seat. Unplug the power extension cord when the charge is completed.
• The lithium battery pack can be plugged in for “partial” charge cycles as well as “full” charge cycles. When the battery pack is finished charging, disconnect the charger cord from the vehicle. If disconnecting before the charge cycle is complete, it is recommended that the charger be disconnected from the wall receptacle first, then unplug the charger cord from the vehicle receptacle.
• NOTE: The distance the golf cart can be driven is not guaranteed and varies depending on many factors including weight, hills, temperatures, and other environmental conditions. Practice using the golf cart in various conditions to determine the amount of distance the golf cart can achieve.

Vehicle Lifting
The vehicle must be on a firm and level surface for lifting. Remain constantly aware that the vehicle is not stable during the lifting process. Do not get under a vehicle until you verify that it is stable on the jack stands. Never get under a vehicle while it is on a jack only. Put wheel chocks in front and behind the wheels that are not being lifted. Do not allow anyone to remain or climb on the vehicle at any time during the lifting process.

Vehicle Modification

• Do not install any accessory not approved by Voyager Electric Vehicles. Do not modify the vehicle to increase speed or power. Any modifications or installation of accessories not approved by Voyager Electric Vehicles can create a safety hazard and increase the risk of injury.
• The warranty will be terminated if the vehicle is modified to increase vehicle speed or power.
• The warranty may be terminated if original (or equivalent) replacement parts are not installed on the vehicle.
• The addition of some accessories can change the handling characteristics of the vehicle. Use only Voyager Electric Vehicle approved accessories, and familiarize yourself with their function and effect on the vehicle.

Maintenance Safety
Routine and scheduled maintenance of this vehicle is necessary to keep your vehicle in safe and reliable condition. This section of the manual provides safety information for performing maintenance on your vehicle. Make sure you read, understand, and comply with all this information to decrease the risk of personal injury or death.

WARNING

Serious injury or death can occur if you do not follow the instructions and procedures shown in this Owner’s Guide.

• Read this entire manual and all product labels carefully. Follow the procedures and comply with the safety information in this manual while performing vehicle service or maintenance.
• Use the tools shown in the tool list and wear the specified safety equipment when performing vehicle service or maintenance.
• Remove all jewelry before you service the vehicle.
• Do not allow loose clothing or hair to contact the moving parts.
• Do not touch hot objects.
• The drive wheels must be lifted and supported on jack stands before you perform any service to the powertrain while the motor is in operation.
• Use wheel chocks and support the vehicle on jack stands. NEVER get under a vehicle that is supported by a jack. Following the instructions at VEHICLE LIFTING on page 16.
• When you service the vehicle, always wear eye protection.
• Wear a face shield when working around the battery pack.
• Be careful when working around batteries, using solvents or compressed air.
• Use insulated tools within the battery area to prevent sparks or battery explosion.
• To prevent the risk of battery explosion, keep all flammable materials, open flames, or sparks away from the battery.
• Maintain constant awareness that some components are heavy, spring loaded, corrosive, explosive, can cause high amperage, or get extremely hot.
• After you make repairs or do maintenance, test the vehicle in a safe area that is free from vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

CONTROLS

CAUTION

NOTICE: 12V accessories must be connected to the DC to DC converter.
Key and Light Switch (see Figure 1)
The Key and Light Switch is a three-position switch.

• OFF – Vehicle is disabled.
• ON – (First position by turning key clockwise) activates the vehicle, activates electronics and accessory power.
• LIGHTS ON – (2nd position by turning key clockwise again) turns the running lights on, allows the vehicle to be driven in reverse, and activates the reverse warning indicator.
• F – Allows the vehicle to be driven in the forward direction.
• N – Allows the vehicle accelerator pedal to be inactive and allows the vehicle to be turned on.
• R – Allows the vehicle to be driven in the reverse direction.

Hazard Light Switch (see Figure 1)
The Hazard Light Switch is a two-position switch.

• Upper – Off
• Lower – On

State of Charge Display (see Figure 1)
The State of Charge Display (SOCD) is on the dash panel beside the Instrument Panel Display. It indicates the amount of usable power in the batteries, with 100% indicating a full charge on the battery pack and E indicating low charge. The SOCD will change to a yellow caution color and flash “E” for empty when it has limited remaining battery power. The battery will continue to function when “E” is reached, but it is recommended to charge the battery immediately. During charging, the SOCD will change to a yellow caution color to indicate the battery is in a charge status.

Forward/Neutral/Reverse Switch (see Figure 1)
The FORWARD/NEUTRAL/REVERSE Switch is a three-position switch.

• Upper – Allows the vehicle to be driven in the Forward direction.

• Center – Allows the vehicle to be in Neutral, which allows the golf cart to startup.
  NOTE: The golf cart must be turned on in the Neutral (Center) selected position. If not, the golf cart will enter a safe-mode and will sound an alarm indicating the golf cart needs to be cycled to the Neutral position before going in Forward or Reverse.

• Lower – Allows the vehicle to be driven in Reverse and activates the reverse warning indicator.

USB Port (see Figure 1)
A USB port is located on the center console. With the key switch in the ON position, the USB port supplies power to electronic devices via a USB cable (not supplied).

CAUTION

Excessive use of accessories that are connected to the outlet can drain the battery.

Instrument Panel Display (see Figure 2)
The Instrument Panel is located on the center dash console. With the key switch in the ON position, and the Forward/Neutral/Reverse Switch in the Neutral position, the Instrument Panel Display powers on.

Steering Wheel
The steering wheel allows the driver to control the direction of travel.

Accelerator Pedal
The accelerator pedal is the right pedal on the floorboard. It activates the motor and controls the acceleration of the vehicle.
Apply slow and steady pressure to the accelerator pedal to increase vehicle speed.

Brake Pedal
The brake pedal is the left pedal on the floorboard.
Press the brake pedal to slow the speed or bring the vehicle to a complete stop.

Parking Brake
This vehicle is equipped with an ActivBrake™, an automatic parking brake that is activated when the vehicle is stopped. The brake is released when the vehicle is in the F (forward) or R (reverse) position and the accelerator pedal is pressed.

Seat Bottom
The front bench seat is designed for two occupants.
Lift up on either hip restraint to pivot the seat bottom forward and access the components underneath. Remove the screws to completely remove the seat bottom from the vehicle.

Glove Box / Storage Compartment
The glove box provides storage space for small items. Glove boxes may be equipped with optional doors.

Canopy Top and Windshield

WARNING

• The canopy top does not provide protection from rollover or falling objects.
• The windshield does not provide protection from tree branches or moving objects.
• NOTICE: To prevent damage to the vehicle, do not hold on to the canopy top struts. Roof handles are included to assist getting in and out of the vehicle and not meant to support full person weight loads.
• The canopy top and windshield provide some protection from the elements, but do not keep the operator and passenger dry in heavy rain.
• The canopy top is not designed to provide rollover protection. In addition, the canopy top does not protect against falling objects, nor does the windshield protect against flying objects and tree limbs.
• The canopy top must be secured tightly when transporting. Failure to secure the canopy top may result in cracking, or other damage, or cause the top to be torn off.
• The windshield must be transported in the folded down position. When the golf cart is transported at speeds over 50 mph, it is recommended to remove the windshield to prevent cracking or from being torn off.

Operation

Safety

WARNING

Failure to operate the vehicle correctly can result in a collision, loss of control, accident, or rollover, and cause serious injury or death. Follow all operation procedures in this section of the manual. Read and comply with all safety warnings in the safety section of this Owner’s Guide. This is a light- duty vehicle, NOT an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV).

Before Initial Use
To guarantee the performance of your Voyager Electric Vehicle and improve its reliability, all vehicle parts will experience a period of breaking-in before it works under peak load. Each new vehicle takes about 30 days or roughly 600 miles of use before it is considered fully broken-in.

To prepare your new vehicle for operation, complete the following:

• Remove the protective plastic from the seats (if any remains).
• Check for possible leaks that may have developed during shipment of the vehicle.
• Check that tire pressure has been adjusted to the set recommendation based on tire size.
• Be sure wheel lug nuts have been tightened between 75-85 ft∙lbs.
• Be sure any bolts that have become loose from shipping are tightened.
• Check all fluid levels to ensure there is ample brake fluid and rear differential gear oil.

WARNING

Never charge a vehicle near flammable materials, open flame, or sparks. Never charge a vehicle near gas water heaters and/or furnaces.

• Charge the batteries fully. See Battery Charging information on page 15 of this manual.
• Perform the following daily inspection.

Daily Inspection
Inspect and verify that the vehicle is in safe operating condition before each use to decrease the risk of an accident. Check the items in the table to help ensure safe and reliable operation.

Environmental Awareness

WARNING
Be careful of potential environmental hazards like steep slopes, rocks, tree branches, etc. that could cause an incident and result in vehicle damage, personal injury or death.

• Always be respectful of the environment.
• Respect all wildlife and their habitat.
• Respect private property and comply with all local laws and regulations governing the use of golf and light duty utility vehicles.
• Make sure you are permitted by property owners to operate the vehicle on their property.
• When equipped as a Low Speed Vehicle (LSV), all federal laws apply to the driver and passengers of the vehicle.
• Lithium Batteries can only be disposed of by approved lithium battery distributors. Do not throw lithium batteries in your home trash!

MAINTENANCE

Performing regular maintenance on your Voyager Electric Vehicle is vital to the life span and performance of the vehicle.
Your Voyager Electric Vehicle is equipped with an AC motor and is maintenance free. New motor bearings are recommended every 5 years.

CONTROLLER

CAUTION
Only qualified electricians should perform maintenance on the controller.

CAUTION
There is no spare part available inside the controller. No attempt should be made to open, repair, or otherwise modify the controller. Any attempt to modify the controller will void the warranty.

CLEANING THE CONTROLLER
It is recommended that the controller be kept clean and dry, and its fault history file be checked and cleared periodically.
Regular cleaning of the controller exterior will help protect it against corrosion and possible electrical control issues that can be caused by dirt, grime, and chemicals that are part of the operating environment and that are normal parts of buildup on your controller.

HOW TO CLEAN THE CONTROLLER

• Turn the power key to the OFF position.
• Remove power by disconnecting the battery.
• Discharge the capacitors in the controller by connecting a load, such as a contactor coil or horn, across the controller’s B+ and B- terminals.
• Remove any dirt or corrosion from the connector areas. The controller should be wiped clean with a clean, damp cloth. Make sure it is dry before reconnecting the battery.
• The controller should not be subjected to pressured water flow from either a standard hose or a power washer.
• Make sure connections are tightened but do not over-tighten.

MAINTENANCE OF THE REAR AXLE

• It is important to regularly check the rear axle in the event that maintenance needs to be performed.
• Before driving it, check to make sure that there is no mud, dirt, or other debris built up on the axle so that it is clean and functions properly.
• Make sure the axle is clear of any sticks or other objects that can cause damage or cause the axle to not function properly.
• Make sure there is enough gear oil and if necessary, add oil to the axle.
• Check to make sure all the connections are tight and listen for any unusual sounds coming from the axle.
• Check the brake drum and make sure it isn’t overheated or smelling. If necessary, adjust and repair the brake drum.
• Check the disc brakes to make sure they are allowing the wheels to move freely and that the pads have sufficient brake life.
• Check to make sure the breather valve is properly ventilating in the event of an oil leak.
• Check to make sure that no parts of the parking brake cable or system are broken or loose. Replace all necessary parts immediately because this can impact the function of the brake system.
• The axle should have routine professional maintenance to ensure it is working properly and to avoid any injury or harm due to a faulty axle.
• There are three levels of maintenance for the axle:
  • First level maintenance ensures that the axle is properly lubricated, and if necessary, gear oil is added.
  • Second level maintenance focuses the adjustment and alignment of the axle and adding any necessary lubricant.
  • Third level maintenance focuses on repairing, replacing any parts, reassembly of the axle and replacing gear oil.
• The axle and all connected parts should be routinely checked to make sure axle maintenance is up to date and all parts are in proper working order.

Wheel Replacement

CAUTION

• Before performing any maintenance on the wheels or wheel parts, please make sure the POWER KEY and BATTERY SWITCH are turned to the OFF position.
• Please read the tire manufacturer’s instructions and follow their recommendations.
• Protect your face and eyes from possible exposure to high-pressurized air when removing the valve cap. Be sure that the tire jack or lift is anchored to the floor.
• Wear safety equipment when lifting your Voyager Electric Vehicle to perform tire replacement or maintenance. See other safety recommendations for VEHICLE LIFTING on page 16.

To Remove the Wheels
Loosen the wheel lug nuts.
Use a jack or vehicle lift to elevate the vehicle then fully remove the wheel lug nuts and the wheel.

To Replace the Wheels

• Use a jack or lift to elevate the vehicle, then place the tire onto the wheel hub.
• Put the lug nuts on the wheel and tighten by hand, then using a cross sequence pattern, tighten them with a torque until all lug nuts are firmly secure and tight.
• Remove the jack or lower the vehicle from the lift.
• In the event of a flat tire, remove the wheel and inflate the tire to the maximum recommended pressure for the tire. Immerse the tire in water if you cannot easily locate the source of the leak, mark with chalk and then plug the tire according to the manufacturer’s specific instructions.

Brake Adjustment

CAUTION
If you have any problems with the brakes, please consult your dealer right away. Brake failure can result in serious accidents, bodily injury, or damage to your Voyager Electric Vehicle.
The brakes on this vehicle are self-adjusting.
Before you operate your Voyager Electric Vehicle, please press down on the brake pedal several times to make sure the brakes are functioning properly.
