Getting Started
This guide helps you to get started with your device for the first time.
Phone Features
Inserting SIM Card and MicroSD Card
Insert the SIM tool in the SIM pinhole to release the tray (as shown in the
figure below). Place the SIM card in the slot with the gold contacts facing
down and close the tray. Your device is now ready to be used. The SIM tray
also has a slot for a microSD card that can be inserted by following the steps
mentioned above.
NOTE: The microSD card is sold separately.
Charging the Battery
Before using your device, you must fully charge the battery (100%).
- Insert the smaller end (USB Type C) into the device and the larger end (USB Type A) into the charger adapter.
- Plug the charger into an electrical outlet.
Warning! Use only approved chargers with your device. Incompatible chargers that are tampered with may damage the device and void the warranty.
Turning Your Phone ON/OFF
To turn ON
Press and hold the Power/Lock button.
To turn OFF
Press and hold the Power/Lock button and follow the prompts.
Using On-screen Gestures
Use the on-screen gestures to move around the screen, open menus, and select
items, zoom in or out on web pages, and more.
- Tap – To open an app, select a menu item, press an on-screen button, or enter a character using the keyboard on the screen, tap it with your finger.
- Touch and hold – Touch and hold an item or the screen for more than 2 seconds to access available options.
- Drag – To move an item, touch and hold it and drag it to the target position.
- Double-Tap – Double-tap on a web page or image to zoom in. Double-tap again to return.
- Swipe – Swipe to the left or right on the screen to scroll left or right. Swipe upwards or downwards to scroll through a web page or a list of items.
- Spread and Pinch – Spread two fingers apart on a web page, map, or image to zoom in on a part. Pinch to zoom out.
Locking and Unlocking Your Phone
To Lock the Screen
- Press the Power/Lock button.
- This action prevents accidental keypress.
To Unlock the Screen
- Press the Power/Lock button and swipe up on the screen.
Setting Up Email Accounts
- Tap the Home key > swipe up for apps ›Settings > Passwords & accounts > Add account.
- Tap the type of account you want to add
- Enter your email address and password.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your email account.
Making and Receiving a Call
- From the Home screen, tap < >
- Enter the number you want to call or the first letter of the contact’s name and select the contact.
- Tap to place the call.
- To receive a call,
- Tap Answer to answer an incoming call.
Sending a Text Message
- From the Home screen, tap > Start chat.
- Enter the recipient’s name or number in the To field.
- Enter the text message.
- To add an attachment, tap .
- Tap to send your message.
Camera
Taking Photos
- From the Home screen, tap .
- Aim the camera at the subject using the phone’s main display screen as a viewfinder.
- Pinch the screen to zoom out or pinch open to zoom in.
- Before taking a photo, you can tap on the screen icons to access various camera options and settings, if required.
- Tap to take a photo.
NOTE: You can also use the Volume keys to take a photo.
Recording videos
- From the Home screen, tap .
- Tap the video on the screen to switch to the video mode.
- Aim the camera at the subject using the phone’s main display screen as a viewfinder.
- Pinch the screen to zoom out or pinch open to zoom in.
- Tap the white button to start recording the video
- Pinch the screen to zoom out or pinch open to zoom in.

Installing the Apps
Your phone comes preloaded with several applications, and you can download
many more from the Play Store.

To install applications from the Play Store
- Search or browse for applications.
- Select the desired app, download it, and install it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- You can also uninstall, update, and manage your downloaded apps.
Uninstalling the Apps
- Touch and hold the app icon that you want to uninstall.
- Tap Uninstall and follow the prompts to uninstall the app.
- Tap OK to confirm or Cancel to stop the uninstallation.
NOTE: The preloaded apps cannot be uninstalled.
Improving Accessibility
Accessibility options are special features that make using a device easier for
people who are physically handicapped.
To set accessibility options
- Tap Home key > swipe up for apps > Settings > Accessibility.
- Tap a category and set the desired options.
Connecting to Wi-Fi
- Touch the Home key > swipe up for apps > Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
- Make sure the Wi-Fi is turned ON.
- Tap Add network.
- Enter the network SSID and other required information.
- Tap Save.
Hearing Aid Compatibility
Information
Your phone is compliant with the FCC Hearing Aid Compatibility requirements.
The FCC has adopted HAC rules for digital wireless phones. These rules require
certain phones to be tested and rated under the American National Standard
Institute (ANSI) C63.19-2011 hearing aid compatibility standards. The ANSI
standard for hearing aid compatibility contains two types of ratings:
- M-Ratings: Rating for less radio frequency interference to enable acoustic coupling with hearing aids.
- T-Ratings: Rating for inductive coupling with hearing aids in telecoil mode.
- T-Ratings: Rating for inductive coupling with hearing aids in telecoil mode.
Not all phones have been rated. A phone is considered hearing aid compatible under FCC rules if it is rated M3 or M4 for acoustic coupling and T3 or T4 for inductive coupling. These ratings are given on a scale of one to four, where four is the most compatible.
