Section 1: Sola X Lighthead
Section 2: BATTERY
State of Charge (SOC) LEDs
When charging or discharging the light, the state of charge will be shown on the Battery State of Charge Indicator LEDs.
When not in use, check the state of charge by removing the bezel and pressing the white Battery Status Button.
The battery state will display while in use.
Section 3: CONNECTING LIGHT & BATTERY
Install
Note: Ensure optic is secure. Light will default to travel lockout mode and flash red. See section 6 for more details.
Section 4: REMOVE BATTERY
Slide the locking latch out. Turn the battery 1/4 counterclockwise to unlock position and pull straight out.

Note: Always install splash covers on light & battery when separated.
Section 5: CHANGING OPTICS
Install optic: Angle optic under static latch and press other side down until it clicks.
Note: Make sure field replaceable optic is sealed under both latches before use.
Section 6: OPERATION MODES
Control Knob Indicator Light
- Flashing White = Start up system check
- Flashing Green = Travel Lockout Mode off
- Flashing Red = Travel Lockout Mode
- Purple = Burst
- Aqua = Continuous
Step 1. Engage the battery. The control knob will flash white and output
indicators will briefly flash for system check. The light is now in travel
lockout mode and knob will flash red when pressed.
Step 2. Press and hold control knob for 3 seconds, the control knob will flash
green, release. The light is now in burst mode, and the control knob is purple
– the green battery status LEDs will also turn on indicating SOC.
Note: To engage burst mode, connect a fiber optic cable from fiber optic cable connection to housing trigger receptor.
Mode-press: Tap control knob for 1 second to toggle between continuous
and burst modes.
Travel Lockout mode: To engage or disengage travel lockout mode, press
and hold control knob for 3 seconds. Flashing red indicates travel lockout
mode.
Travel and storage: Remove battery from light head. Place protective caps
over exposed pins on the lighthead and on the battery.
SOS: Press and hold control knob for 8 seconds. Sola X will engage into
SOS mode and flash the morse code. To exit SOS mode tap control knob for 1
second.
Section 7: OUTPUT CONTROLS
Change output by rotating control knob. Switch between continuous and burst by tapping knob. Output levels can be set independently between burst and continuous modes.

Section 8: BURST OPERATION
There are 2 distinct modes; Continuous and Burst. When in continuous mode, a trigger signal will toggle the light to burst and then revert to previous continuous setting.
1. Continuous (aqua)
- Rotate dial to desired power output in lumens.
- Maximum power is 10,000 lumens.
2. Digital Burst (purple)
- Rotate the dial to set burst power. Maximum burst power is 1 stop more light than maximum continuous output.
- To engage burst mode, connect a fiber optic cable from lighthead to camera trigger.
3. Continuous light that Bursts upon trigger signal
- Connect fiber optic cable to camera trigger
- Set Constant light (Blue Knob)
- Set Burst power (Purple Knob). Trigger signal will burst the light, shutting off continuous mode until shutter is released.
- Once shutter is released, light automatically toggles back to previous continuous setting.
Section 9: BATTERY PERFORMANCE
Continuous
10,000 Lumens: 45 minutes
Digital Burst
20,000 lumens in 5ms bursts for up to 15,000 bursts on full charge.
Charge Time: 80 mins*
- With a minimum 60W USB-C Charger (Lower wattage power supplies will take longer)
For Travel and Storage
Unplug battery from light and install splash caps on both battery and light.
Have at least 30% charge when storing battery.
Fully charge battery before first use
Charge your battery before use. Periodically, check the charge of the battery
during storage. The battery has internal protections that ensure the battery
is safely maintained regardless of charge state.
Note: Always install splash caps on light & battery when disconnected for
storage or travel.
Section 10: WARRANTY
Light & Motion products are covered against defects in workmanship and materials under normal use and service for 2 years from the date of purchase. Please register your device to activate warranty coverage. Batteries, by nature of their use, are covered for 1 year.
Warranty is non-transferable and does not cover failures from misuse. We will repair or replace, at our discretion, any product that is found to be defective under our warranty policy. Verification of purchase date must be provided with any claim.
Storage & Travel
Never store the batteries fully discharged as this may cause permanent damage.
Disconnect battery when storing or traveling. Install splash caps.
Care & Maintenance
Keep water away from exposed copper pads on battery end. If it gets wet,
carefully dry with rag before use.
Note: Always install splash caps on light & battery when disconnected for
storage or travel.
