INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

ATTENTION: Refer to the appropriate shop manual for your vehicle to obtain specific service procedures for this part. If you do not have a service manual or lack the skill to install this part, it is recommended that you seek the services of a qualified technician. Pay special attention to all cautions and warnings included in the shop manual. Read and follow all instructions carefully.

A steel brake line may be permanently attached to the brake hose on some vehicles (figure 1). This replacement hose is designed without a permanent steel line. You must obtain the correct length of steel brake line and make the appropriate bends (figure 2).

  • If the steel brake line being used is already equipped with flared fittings, the fitting provided with this hose can be discarded (figure 3).
  • If fabricating the steel line with bulk tubing and a double flare tool, the fitting for the end that will connect to the hose is included with the hose (figure 3).
  • The end of the hard-line attaching to the vehicle’s system must match the style already on the vehicle (inverted double flare or ISO flare).

This procedure should be performed by an experienced technician.
