Introduction

The GoveeLife Presence Sensor is equipped with a built-in microwave radar, infrared temperature probe, precision circuitry, and a Fresnel lens. Installing it on a wall or ceiling can detect any living presence ina designated space. When the sensor is connected to a network, it can transmit the presence information in the space as a trigger condition and interconnect with other products to execute commands, enabling more smart scenarios by sending the information to Govee Home App.

Controls

Function Button

1. When the device is powered on, the indicator will become solid, which means the device has entered the Bluetooth Broadcast Mode. Search H5127 in the app. Follow the in-app instructions to press the function button when the indicator is flashing to complete pairing.
2. Press and hold for 10 seconds, and the indicator will flash 3 times. The preset information will be cleared and the device will be restored to factory settings. The indicator will remain solid.

Functions

Presence Signal Detection
The sensor can detect any living presence within the detection range, and transmit the information of the living presence as a trigger condition, enabling more smart scenarios by setting interconnection with other products in Govee Home App.
Recovery Function
Press the function button for 10 seconds until the indicator flashes 3 times to clear all default settings and restore to factory settings. At the same time, clear the cleaning reminders and disconnect from Bluetooth and Wi- Fi.
Note: After restoring the sensor to factory settings, go to the My Devices page on the app to delete this sensor first, otherwise it cannot be added to the app again.
Memory Function
The sensor will save its previous settings when powered off (Such as detection range settings). When it is powered back on, the settings will resume.

Getting Started

1. Remove all packaging and plug into power. Optional:
   Unfold the stand and rotate the sensor body to focus on the target area.

2. When the device is powered on, the indicator will become solid, which means the device has entered the Bluetooth Broadcast Mode. Search H5127 in the app. Follow the in-app instructions to press the function button when the indicator is flashing to complete pairing.

3. Following the in-app instructions, install the device on the wall at a height of 4.6-5.9ft (1.4-1.8m) or on the ceiling at a height of 8.5-9.8ft (2.6-3.0m).
   a. Installing on the Wall: The maximum detection range of a living presence in a straight line is 18ft (5.5m). The maximum detection range of motionina straight line is 26.2ft (8m).
   Advantages: The detection range is wide. It is good for detecting moving or sitting targets.
   Disadvantages: You need to adjust the position or angle of the sensor to detect targets that are lying flat. b. Installing on the Ceiling: If the ceiling is 9.8ft (3m) high, the detection range will be a circle with a radius of 6.5ft (2m) on the ground.
   Advantages: It is good for detecting Static targets that are sleeping.
   Disadvantages: The detection range is small.
   Note:
   ● When choosing to install the sensor on the ceiling, you don’t need to set the detection range or exclude interference in the app.
   ● During installation, try to avoid curtains, plants, air conditioning, fans, flowing water, air vents, etc. within the detection range. Otherwise, it is recommended to enable Biological Recognition or exclude interference area in the app.

4. It is recommended to test multiple installation positions to verify the detection results and choose the most suitable installation position.

Note:

1. It is recommended to test whether the sensor can effectively detect any living presence before first use. Determine the installation position before sticking the adhesive tape. You can use the transparent tape to fix the metal  base first, then attach the sensor base onto the metal plate. After testing the detection effect, use adhesive tapes or nails to install the metal plate.
2. For indoor use only.
3. Avoid placing metal or other objects in front of the sensor.
4. Please make sure the surface of the device is clean and dry.

Downloading Govee Home App
To download Govee Home App, scan the QR code or search for “Govee” in the Apple App Store® (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

Note:

• Choose “Allow” to the permissions requested when opening Govee Home App for the first time. These permissions allow the app’s features to function normally and are not used to record personal, private information.
• Due to ongoing updates, Govee Home App may be slightly different than shown in this manual. In case of any differences, always follow the in-app instructions.

Pairing with Govee Home App

1. Turn on your smartphone’s Bluetooth. Connect to your Wi-Fi router’s 2.4GHz network. 5GHz is not supported.

2. Android users turn on Location Services; IOS users choose Location ->Always On in the pop-up window while adding devices.
   Note:
   ● For IOS users, if you chose
   Location->Never, it might result in notifications/alert exceptions. It is recommended to follow Settings
   ->Govee Home ->Location
   ->Always On to obtain the best experience.
   ● Govee Home WILL NOT collect, use, or share your location in any way.

3. Open Govee Home App, tap the “+” icon in the top right corner and search for “H5127.”

4. Tap the device icon and follow the in-app instructions to complete the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection.

Note:

• Method to turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection: Press and hold the function button for 10s to restore the device to factory settings, then go to the My Devices page on the app to delete this presence sensor first, otherwise it cannot be added to the app again.
• You can use Govee Home App to connect your presence sensor to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Follow the in-app instructions to connect to each voice assistant.
• Govee Home App is being continually updated and its features do expand.

Exclusive App Functions

• Biological Recognition:
  Turn on the infrared sensor. The sensor has dual detection with the built-in microwave radar and infrared temperature probe. It is recommended to enable this function if there are any running electrical appliances, plants, curtains, etc. within the detection range to increase the accuracy.
  Result: It can improve the detection accuracy during the absence of presence. It might reduce the sensitivity of presence detection and the accuracy of consecutive presence detection.

• Target Exclusion:
  This function is used to exclude a certain area within a specific distance range that causes false triggers. If the Biological Recognition function cannot exclude home appliances (eg. tower fan, high-power air purifier, etc.) or other items that may cause false triggers of presence, this function can be used to specify and exclude the target.
  Result: The presence detection would be invalid within the excluded area.

Troubleshooting

The troubleshooting section below is for solving frequently asked questions for the presence sensor. If your problem persists, please contact Customer Support.
For Presence Sensor

plugged into power and connected to Wi-Fi.
Check whether the detected area is included in the detection range set in the app.
Make sure no obstacles stand in front of the sensor.
Contact Customer Support.
There is nobody in the space but presence is detected.| Check whether there are any moving interferences in the environment. Remove the obstacles or adjust the installation position to avoid interference.
Abiotic interference might exist. Enable the Biological Recognition switch in the app.
There may be electrical interference within the detection range. It can be excluded by setting in the app.
The sensor may be malfunctioning. Stop using the sensor and contact Customer Support.
The sensor cannot work consecutively.| Set the Absence Reporting Time to more than 30 seconds.
Turn off the Biological Recognition.
Adjust the installation location to make the sensor face directly in front of the human activity. Minor movements can only be detected within 18ft.
Limit of consecutive presence detection: Errors might exist in the detection result when a person is Sleeping. Sleeping with a blanket or quilt covering the body will also make the detection more difficult.

For App & Connectivity

1. Cannot connect to Govee Home App.
   ● Make sure your smartphone is powered on and is not connected with other Bluetooth devices.
   ● Enable the smartphone’s Location Services.
   ● Try connecting with another Smartphone.
   ● Make sure your app is updated to the latest version.
   ● Make sure you connect to your Wi-Fi router’s 2.4GHz network and that the network is working correctly.
   ● Make sure the Wi-Fi password you

2. Cannot find the device on the Bluetooth Device Nearby page of the app.
   ● The sensor may be connected with another smartphone. Disconnect it from the other smartphone first.

3. The sensor is offline.
   ● Make sure the sensor is plugged in and powered on, then refresh “My Devices” in Govee Home App by swiping down on the screen.
   ● Make sure your router is connected to the internet and your smartphone’s network connection is working.
   ● If the Wi-Fi password has been changed, the sensor will automati- cally go offline. Try connecting it to the network again.
   ● Delete the offline sensor from Govee Home App, then add and reconfigure the sensor again in the app.
