Read this manual carefully before running this appliance and save it for reference in order to obtain the best results and ensure safe use.

SAFETY WARNINGS

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.

General warnings:
  1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance must never been carried out by children, unless they are over 8 years and under supervision.
  2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  3. Keep the appliance and the cable cord out of the reach of children less than 8 years old.
  4. WARNING: In order to ensure your children`s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
  5. If the supply cord is damaged it must be repaired by the Authorized Service Agent to avoid any hazard.
  6. Never pull on the cord when unplugging.
  7. Do not use the unit with a damaged cord or plug, or if it is not working properly.
  8. Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.
  9. Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  10. Make sure the appliance has been unplugged before cleaning.
  11. This appliance must be installed following the national regulations for electrical installations.
  12. This appliance is for household use only.

CAUTION: The surface can remain hot during or after use.

  • The device should only be used with the supplied stand.
  • If the unit is overfilled, boiling water may be projected.
  • CAUTION: Make sure the kettle is switched off before you remove it from its holder.
  • Switch off the plug from the outlet before filling, emptying or cleaning, or when not in use.
  • Do not operate or place any part of this appliance on or near any hot surfaces such as gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter. Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces.
  • Avoid touch hot kettle surfaces, use handles or knobs.
  • To avoid possible steam damage, turn the spout away from walls or cabinets when operating the kettle.
  • Clean the filter with water once a month or when it is necessary. When pulling the filter out, be careful it is hot after boiling water.
  • If operated on wood furniture, use a protective pad to prevent damage to delicate finishes.
  • Remove and replace the lid carefully when hot.
  • Do not switch your kettle on if it is empty.
  • To protect against fire, do not operate in the presence of explosive and / or flammable fumes.
  • A kettle should not be left connected to a wall socket when the room temperature is likely to fall to outdoor winter temperatures. At sub-zero temperatures, the automatic control thermostat may reset to boiler energize the element.
  • Do not use the kettle for any purpose other than heating water. Other liquids or food will contaminate the interior.
  • This product has not been designed for any other uses than those specified in this booklet.
  • Position the lid so that steam is directed away from the handle.
  • Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
  • This appliance is intended to be used in household applications such as:

INSTRUCTION FOR USE
  • Before first use fill the kettle with clean water to maximum capacity and boil Discard the water and repeat the process
  • The kettle should always be unplugged when filling or adding water
  • Fill the kettle with water to desired level Do not overfill or there will be a risk of spillage or spitting The water level indicator will assist you to measure the correct amount You can fill the kettle via the spout or after opening the lid Do not forget to close the lid after filling otherwise the kettle will not automatically switch off after use
  • Do not fill with less than 0.5 liters of water to “min” indication to prevent the kettle running dry while operating
  • Do not fill with more than 1.7 liters of water to “max” indication)
  • An automatic safety cut-out has been fitted for protection against over heating it will operate if the kettle is switched on when containing insufficient water Always ensure the water inside the kettle covers the minimum mark on the water level indicator gauge If the automatic safety cut-out has operated switch the kettle off disconnect from the power outlet and allow the kettle to cool down for 5 to 10 minutes The refill with and switch on the kettle will work as normal.
KETTLE
  • Place the power base on a dry, flat surface. Place the kettle on the power base. The electrical connection will be made automatically as the kettle slides onto the power base. Plug the cord set on the power base. The electrical connection will be made automatically as the kettle slides onto the base.
  • Plug the cord set into an earthed power socket and switch on by depressing the switch of the kettle to the “on” position.
  • When the water has boiled, the kettle will switch off automatically, after allowing the kettle to cool down for 1 minute, the water can be brought back to the boil by pushing the switch back to the “on” position. During the cooling down time do not force the on/off switch into the “on” position as this can damage the operating mechanism.
  • Do not remove the kettle from the power base without switching off first.
  • Remember, if you do not wish to re-boil the kettle, switch it off.
  • The kettle may be switched off manually at any time by setting the on/off switch into the “off” position.
  • To pour water, lift the kettle from the power base and pour.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR KETTLE
  • Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Remove stubborn spots with a cloth moistened with mild liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or powers.
  • Never immerse the kettle in water or other liquids.
  • From time to time, depended on the nature of your water supply, a boiled scale deposit is naturally formed and can be found mostly adhered to the heating element, thus reducing the heating efficiency.
  • The amount of boiled scale deposited (and subsequently the need to clean or rescale) largely depends on the water hardness in your area the frequency with which the kettle is used.
  • Boiled scale is not harmful to your health. But if poured into your beverage, it can give a powdery taste to your drink. Therefore, the kettle should be descaled periodically as indicated below.
DESCALING
  • Descale kettle regularly. With normal use: at least twice a year. Fill the kettle up to “max” with a mixture of one part ordinary vinegar and two parts water. Switch on and wait for the appliance to switch off automatically.
  • Let the mixture remain inside the kettle overnight. Discard the mixture the next morning.
  • Fill the kettle with clean water up to “max” mark and boil again. Discard the boiled water to remove any remaining scale and vinegar.
  • Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water.
DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

The European directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separately collected. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of their old appliance.
