THERMOSTAT QUICK REFERENCE
Now that you own a Cox HomelifeSM Smart Thermostat, you’ll finally be able to stay comfortable and save on energy bills with personalized thermostat control. In addition to adjusting the temperature on the thermostat itself, you can also adjust it remotely from your Cox Homelife mobile app or Subscriber Portal, as well as set up rules to change the temperature automatically.
Main Functions
MODE Button – Cycles between system modes: HEAT, COOL, E-H, and OFF.
Note: E-H stands for Emergency Heat mode. This mode uses second-stage heat as a supplemental or backup heat source and only appears if your HVAC supports it.
HOLD Button – Enables the hold function to maintain the current setpoint temperature and disables all scheduled system-initiated rules and changes.
FAN Button – Toggles between fan modes: ON, AUTO, and OFF.
SetPoint Temperature Slider – Enables you to change the target temperature by swiping your finger up or down.
Temperature Control and Management
To get the most out of your Homelife Smart Thermostat, you can program rules to set the temperature in your home to certain user-defi ned specifi cations.
-
1. Log in to the online Subscriber Portal at https://portal.coxhomelife.com
- Go to the Devices menu, and select Thermostats
- Click the Add Thermostat Schedule link in the bottom right corner of the page
- Follow the steps in the Thermostat Wizard to set your temperature schedule by day, and set your desired system mode
Troubleshooting Tips
Check System Rules – Check to make sure your system rules are set up correctly and are enabled. You can manage your rules in the online Subscriber Portal.
Disable Hold Function – Make sure that the hold function is disabled because this will override any system rules you have set.
Disable Emergency Heat Mode – Make sure your thermostat is not set to E-H (Emergency Heat) mode as this limits the available heat to a supplemental heat source (second-stage/backup heating), and the primary heating source will not be used when calling for heat.
Replacing Batteries
-
1. Remove the front cover by pulling the outer edges of the thermostat toward you
- Remove the old batteries and dispose of them properly, as recommended by the battery manufacturer
