Power Safety and Instructions
This appliance is equipped with an Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter
(ALCI), a safety feature that renders JetSpa inoperable under some abnormal
conditions, such as immersion in water.
To make sure the ALCI is functioning properly, perform the following
test:
- Plugin JetSpa and press the test button on the plug (see Figure 3).
- The appliance will stop working. There will be an audible click and a reset button will pop out.
- To reset ALCI: The unit should be unplugged. Then push the reset button in, and reinsert plug into an outlet.
- If ALCI is not functioning properly, return the appliance to Homedics, Inc. for examination and repair.
- It is important that if immersion of the transformer of the ALCI occurs, this unit be returned to Homedics. Do not try to reset.
- Be sure to repeat test each time you use JetSpa to confirm ALCI is operational. Should the appliance go off and the ALCI reset button pops up during use, this could indicate a malfunction.
Instructions For Use:
- Place JetSpa in the tub by using the installation instructions on page 4.
- With the unit securely placed in the tub, place the ALCI power pack on countertop or floor, (as far away from the tub as possible so that it cannot easily be pulled into the tub).
- Insert JetSpa plug into ALCI (See Figure 4).
- Plug ALCI into a 120V household outlet (See Figure 5).
- Fill the bathtub with water to the line indicated on the unit.
- Press the “on” button and set the control to the desired setting (jet stream or bubbles).
CAUTION: If JetSpa falls into the tub during use do not panic. JetSpa has been designed to withstand submersion for short periods of time without danger. Remove unit from tub immediately and press off button. Unplug ALCI power pack. Remove JetSpa from the water and hold it over tub, rotating gently to remove excess water from housing. When water is completely emptied from unit, reinstall JetSpa per operating instructions.
Caution: All servicing of this JetSpa must be performed by authorized HoMedics service personnel only.
DO NOT REACH FOR POWER SUPPLY WHILE IN TUB.DO NOT DISCONNECT POWER UNTIL POWER IS TURNED OFF. IF UNIT HAS BEEN IMMERSED FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES, REMOVE UNIT FROM THE TUB, PRESS THE “OFF” BUTTON, DISCONNECT POWER CORD FROM ALCI POWER PACK, DRAIN WATER FROM UNIT, AND STORE IN A DRY PLACE FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS BEFORE NEXT USE.
JetSpa Maintenance
Keep the JetSpa clean and clear of obstructions. Check the outflow control frequently for potential obstructions, including lint and hair, that could block air or water flow. We recommend cleaning JetSpa after each use with mild detergent or soap.
- Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before cleaning. Clean only with a soft, slightly damp sponge. Note: Do not use abrasive cleaners, brushes, gasoline, kerosene, glass/furniture polish or paint thinner to clean.
- JetSpa should also be disinfected periodically to keep it bacteria-free. Follow a disinfecting schedule of once per week if the unit is used frequently, (3 or more times/week). Disinfect after each use when the JetSpa is used only occasionally.
Do not attempt to repair JetSpa. There are no user-serviceable parts. For service, send the unit to the HoMedics’ address listed in the warranty section.
