2-in-1 Cordless Vacuum
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR VACUUM.
Always connect to a polarized outlet (one slot is wider than the other) for
charging. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before conducting
maintenance. When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should be
observed, including the following:
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY:
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts. Brushroll continues to rotate when in the upright position.
- Brushroll continues to turn while product is turned on and handle is in upright position. To avoid damage to carpet, rugs, furniture and flooring, avoid tipping cleaner or setting it on furniture, fringed area rugs, or carpeted stairs during tool use.
- With brushroll on, do not allow cleaner to sit in one location for an extended period of time, as damage to floor can result.
- Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not allow to be used as a toy.
- Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
- Do not use for any purpose
- other than described in this User’s Guide.
- Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
- Do not use with damaged cord or plug.
- If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, dam-aged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, have it repaired at an authorized service center.
- Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
- Do not handle charging base, including plug and charging base terminal with wet hands.
- Do not charge the unit outdoors.
- Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge.
- Do not incinerate the appliance even if it severely damaged. The batteries can explode in a fire.
- Do not put any object into opening.
- Do not use with any opening blocked.
- Keep openings free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce airflow.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
- Use extra care when cleaning stairs.
- Do not pick up flammable materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in the pres-ence of explosive liquids or vapors.
- Always turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting the motorized nozzle.
- Do not pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).
- Do not use vacuum cleaner in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil base paint, paint thinner, some moth proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
- Do not pick up hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.
- Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
- Do not use without dust cup or filters in place.
- Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.
- Keep appliance on a level surface.

with you. We want to make sure your vacuum works as well in two years as it
does today, so this guide has tips on using (pages 6-9), maintaining (pages
10-13), and if there is a problem, troubleshooting (page 14).
Your vacuum needs a little assembly before you can put it to work, so flip to
page 5 and let’s get started!

Assembly
WARNING: Do not plug in your BOLT® Lithium until you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures.
Your BISSELL BOLT® Lithium vacuum comes in three easy to assemble components and does not require any tools to assemble.

- Insert foot into body of the vacuum until you hear a click.
- Plug the charging adapter into the port located under the base.
Charging
- Make sure the charger adapter is plugged properly into the port. Lift and place your BOLT onto the charging base to charge and store.
- Plug the adapter into the wall outlet.

Using your BOLT® Lithium
- To start cleaning select the power button to turn the unit on.
- Select the brush button to turn the motorized brush roll off and on.
NOTE: The brush roll will be ON when the stick vacuum is turned ON. Having the brush roll ON may improve cleaning on soft surfaces such as low- pile area rugs.
Operating 2-Way Folding Handle
- Find the 2-Way folding handle trigger located under the handle.
- Pull the trigger to fold the handle.
- Fold the handle back for easy storage.
- Fold the handle forward to easily clean underneath low places.
Removable Hand Vacuum
- Press the button located on top of the hand vacuum handle and lightly pull out to remove it from the machine.
- Press the power button to begin cleaning.
Hand Vacuum Tools
- Your purchase comes with specially design tools to make pet cleanup easier. To attach any of the included tools, remove the hand vacuum from the base of the machine and insert the desired tool firmly into the hand vacuum nozzle.
- The Pet Hair Nozzle has rubberized teeth to pull and lift up embedded hair and dirt.
- The Crevice Tool w/ Dusting Brush reaches narrow spaces and is delicate on upholstery.
- The Sweep and Scoop Tool make its easier to sweep in and vacuum up debris.
Charging Base Tool Storage
The charging base will recharge your stick vacuum and also store the tools. There are up to three spots to store the tools to your hand vacuum on the charging base.
Reminder: The charging port on the base is located underneath.
Maintenance: Emptying the Dirt Cup
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury, turn power OFF and disconnect plug from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting.
- Make sure the vacuum is OFF. Remove the hand vacuum by pressing the release button on its top handle.
- Find the dirt cup removal button and press to remove the dirt cup from hand vacuum.
- With the dirt cup removed, locate the filter removal tab in the center of the filter assembly. Firmly grasp the tab and turn clockwise (to the right) to operate the Clean-Turn feature. As you turn the tab, the filter will turn and help clean off excess dirt and debris.
- Firmly grasp the tab and pull up to remove the filter from the dirt cup. Empty the dirt cup into a waste receptacle.
WARNING: Do not operate your BOLT® Lithium with damp or wet filters or without filters in place.
Maintenance: Filters
TIP: It may be helpful to turn the filter assembly over and view the underside locking parts before completing steps 1 – 6.

While holding the tab, remove the filtration assembly from the dirt cup.

Empty the dirt cup into a waste receptacle.

To disassemble for thorough cleaning, firmly grasp the filter assembly tab with one hand and the mesh filter frame with the other.
Turn the tab to the left (counterclockwise) to unlock from the mesh filter frame. -
To re-assemble the filter, insert the pleated filter into the mesh filter frame.

While firmly holding the mesh filter frame, turn the tab to the right
(clockwise) to lock the pieces together.
NOTE: You may rinse the filter and frame in warm water to clean. The filter and frame need to be 100% dry before reuse. The key to maximum performance is having a clean filter. Cleaning the filter after each use will help your vacuum operate at peak efficiency.
Maintenance: Brush Roll
WARNING : Do not operate your BOLT® Lithium with damp or wet filters or without filters in place.
- Make sure the vacuum is OFF. Press the vacuum foot release button to disconnect it from the vacuum.
- Turn the foot over and locate the brush roll cover tab.
- Slide the tab down to un-lock and lift the corner cover piece.
- Grasp the brush roll and remove from the foot window area.
- Clean your pet brush roll as needed and place back into the foot.
BRUSH ROLL RESET:
If larger debris becomes lodged in the foot of the unit and the brush roll
shuts off, turn the unitoff and remove the obstruction. Wait approximately 15
seconds for the motor to cool down before turning back on. Brush will function
again after allowing time to cool down.
NOTE: Make sure the brush roll cover tab is locked back into place to prevent breaking or faulty brush roll.
Maintenance: Disposal of Batteries
WARNING: This product contains Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries. According to Federal and State regulations, removal and proper disposal of Lithium Ion batteries is required. For removal of the batteries in your Bolt Lithium, see instructions on this page.
NOTICE: Disconnecting the battery will destroy the appliance and invalidate the warranty.
- Unplug the charger.
- Remove hand vac from unit and remove dirt cup from handle.
- Remove (2) Phillips head screws and remove the lens from the hand vacuum.
- Remove (2) Phillips head screws from the hand vacuum cover.
- Lift off the hand vacuum cover and take out the push rod.
- Remove (5) Phillips head screws from the side of the hand vacuum.
- Remove the entire battery assembly from the cover.
- Cut wires from the PCB and wrap the wire ends with insulation tape.
- Keep Battery Pack together – DO NOT separate individual batteries. For specific disposal instructions of batteries, please contact RBRC (Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation) 1-800-822-8837 or visit www.rbrc.com.
- Discard remainder of product.
Troubleshooting

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state. Limited Two-Year Warranty
Subject to the *EXCEPTIONS AND EXCLUSIONS identified below, upon receipt
of the product BISSELL will repair or replace (with new or remanufactured
components or products), at BISSELL’s option, free of charge from the date of
purchase by the original purchaser, for two years any defective or
malfunctioning part.
See information below on “If your BISSELL product should require service”.
This warranty applies to product used for personal, and not commercial or
rental service. This warranty does not apply to fans or routine maintenance
components such as filters, belts, or brushes. Damage or malfunction caused by
negligence, abuse, neglect, unauthorized repair, or any other use not in
accordance with the User’s Guide is not covered.
BISSELL IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE
ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT. BISSELL’S LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED
THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to
you.
*EXCEPTIONS AND EXCLUSIONS FROM THE TERMS OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY
THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTIES EITHER ORAL OR
WRITTEN. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES WHICH MAY ARISE BY OPERATION OF LAW, INCLUDING
THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO THE TWO YEAR DURATION FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE AS
DESCRIBED ABOVE.
