About This Guide

This guide provides a brief introduction to Smart Plug and the Kasa app, as well as regulatory information. Please note that features of Smart Plug may vary slightly depending on the model and software version you have, and on your location, language and internet service provider. All images, parameters and descriptions documented in this guide are used for demonstration only.

Introduction

With 2-outlets in one smart plug, you can control up to two devices individually while using only one in-wall outlet. Ideal for controlling two lamps in your bedroom or living room. Download the Kasa app and control your outlets remotely. The Kasa app provides easy step-by-step installation instructions and convenient remote control from anywhere.

  • Control from Anywhere – Use the Kasa app on your iOS or Android device to control your smart plug remotely.
  • Scheduling – Use Schedules to set your smart plug to automatically turn on and off.

Appearance

Smart Plug has 2 individual smart outlets, with control buttons to turn on or off plug-in devices and LEDs to show you the current status. TP-Link logo changes color according to different status. See the explanation below:

Set Up Your Smart Plug

Follow the steps below to set up your Smart Plug via Kasa Smart app.

  1. Download and install Kasa app

  2. Go to Google Play or the Apple App Store or scan the QR code below to download the Kasa app on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet.image 4

  3. Log in or sign up with TP-Link ID
    Open the app. Use your TP-Link ID to log in. If you don’t have a TP-Link ID, tap Create Account and the Kasa app will guide you through the rest.image

  4. Add Device

Tap the + button in the Kasa app, select Smart Plug, 2-Outlet and then follow step-by-step app instructions to complete the setup.

Main Device Controls

After you successfully set up your Smart Plug, you will see the home page of the Kasa app. Here you can view the status of all devices that you’ve added to Kasa and manage them. There are 2 smart outlets of HS107 and you can tap on a smart outlet to control and manage.

Configure Your Smart Plug

On Device Status page, you can set Schedule, preset Away Mode, set Timer, check Usage and change the settings of your smart outlets

Set Schedule

Tap to set a schedule for your smart outlet to simplify your daily routine by creating automatic On/Off action

Preset Away Mode

Tap to preset the Away Mode and your smart outlet will be randomly turned on/off during this time.image 10

Set Timer

Tap to set the timer and your smart outlet will automatically turn on/off after the time ends.image 11

Create Scenes

A scene is a preset group of smart devices that can be programmed, customized and activated simultaneously at the touch of a button from your smartphone or tablet, allowing you to easily set your mood, activity or fit any special occasion. This page allows you to preset how your smart home devices should act automatically at special occasions.image 14

Discover Kasa

Use the Kasa app to pair your Smart Plug with Amazon Alexa, Google Home Assistant and enjoy a full hands-free experience. Launch the Kasa app and go to Add Device > WORKS WITH KASA > Nest Home and Away / Amazon Alexa / Google Assistant for detailed instructions.image 15
