Before the first use

Attention: The capacity of this double fryer is 2 x 1800 Watts. Therefore check the maximum of your electric circuit before you plug in both fryers.

Before you use the appliance for the first time, please do as follows: Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all the packaging material. Keep the material (plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. Check the appliance after unpacking for any visible damage, possible from transportation. Place the appliance on a stable and heat resistant surface. Remove the lid and the basket. Take out the heating element by pulling it straight up and also remove the reservoir.

Clean the lid, the basket and the reservoir with warm soapy water. Dry the parts thoroughly. Make sure that the parts are completely dry.

Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Assemble the fryer.

Fill the reservoir with liquid frying oil between the minimum and maximum level, approx. 2,5 liters. Ensure that you don’t add less than the minimum capacity or over the maximum capacity. Inside the reservoir you will find two lines which indicate the minimum and maximum level.

Attention: this fryer may only be used with liquid frying oil. Never use hard fats.

The handle of the basket can be stored in the basket by folding it in. Squeeze the two handle wires together and push the handle forwards over the locking clip.

Only store the handle when the oil is fully cooled down. Ensure the handle is folded back before operating the fryer again!
For the best result in a cool zone fryer, always fry without using the lid.

Frying

Check that the voltage in your home corresponds with the voltage printed on the bottom of the appliance and plug the fryer in.

Check if the handle is folded back and turn the fryer on by plugging it in. The red power indicator will light up. Turn the thermostat button clockwise to the required temperature.

The green thermostat lamp will light up.

Note: always remove the handle out of the oil before heating, otherwise the plastic handle will melt.

As soon as the desired temperature is reached, the green thermostat lamp goes out. The thermostat and the thermostat lamp will toggle on and off as the thermostat in the fryer maintains the correct temperature.

The fryer is now ready to use.

Add the desired quantity of food to the basket. Do not add too much food at one time (never more than 2/3). Food should be as dry as possible to reduce the amount of water getting into the oil. Shake the ice off of frozen products above the sink.

Lower the basket slowly into the oil. If you lower too fast the oil can splash.

Always fry without the lid. This prevents the fryer from overheating and an automatic shutdown. At the same time it ensures a crispier result.

When the food is deepfried, lift the basket out of the oil. Carefully shake the excessive fat of and hang the basket on the hook in the reservoir to drain the oil.

Take the basket out of the fryer and serve the food.
Place the basket back.

After frying

When you have finished frying, turn the fryer off by turning the thermostat button anti-clockwise completely and pull the plug from the socket.

Only store the handle when the oil is fully cooled down. Ensure the handle is folded back before operating the fryer again!

Let the fryer cooldown for several hours before moving the fryer. If you want to move the fryer always use both hands.

Tips

  • Note: during and after frying it is possible that drops of condensated water fall into the hot oil. The hard noise you can hear, is the reaction of the water with the oil/fat and is normal. It does not influence the use of the fryer.
  • Note: Battered or coated food, like fish, may stick to the basket. To prevent this, lower the basket and than place the food in the fryer.
  • Never salt the product before or during cooking. This will soil the oil.
  • For the best results it is advisable not to fry with a full basket, maximum 450 to 500 grams. Fry frozen products in even smaller portions, because they contain more water and cause the oil to cool down too much.
  • If you make your own fries, dry them thoroughly after washing to make sure there will be no water in the oil. Fry the fresh fries in two times. The first time (pre-cooking) 5 to 10 minutes on 170 degrees. Lift the basket, let the oil drain and let the fries cool down for several minutes. For the second time turn the temperature control (cooking) to 190 degrees and cook the fries in 2 to 4 minutes. Lift the basket after frying and let the oil drain.

Safety

Your fryer is provided with a double safety, a reset-button and a safety switch.

The fryer is provided with an overheating safety which automatically shuts the fryer off when overheating. Remove the plug from the outlet and allow the fryer to cool down completely. You can switch the fryer on again when you push in the reset button on the back in the storage compartment. See 6 on the picture. Use a blunt object to press the reset-button in the small round opening.

On the front of the heating you will see a safety switch. If you pull out the heating element while the fryer is still on, the safety switch will shut the element of. This also means that you can not use the heating element when it is not placed or not placed correctly in the retaining slots.

Cleaning & maintenance

FILTERING OR CHANGING LIQUID FRYING OIL
Before changing or filtering the oil, always unplug the fryer and let it cool down completely. The liquid frying oil can be used longer, if you filter it regularly. Replace the liquid frying oil regularly, after 8 to 12 times.

Filter the liquid frying oil only when it is cold. Pour the oil in a clean bowl. Clean the reservoir with hot water and a mild detergent or in the dishwasher. Thoroughly dry the reservoir.
Pour the liquid frying oil back in the reservoir through a fine sieve.
Check each time if the level of the liquid frying oil is between the minimum and maximum level. When replacing the oil, follow the same steps as described before. Liquid frying oil can be poured back in the bottles. Never wash away fat or oil through the sink.

CLEANING THE FRYER

Before cleaning always unplug the fryer and let it cool down completely. Remove the basket, the element and the reservoir out of the fryer. Clean the lid, the basket and the reservoir in the dishwasher or with hot water and a mild detergent. Ensure that the parts are dried thoroughly after cleaning.

Clean the exterior of the fryer with a damp cloth and when needed a mild detergent.

Never use any abrasives! Never immerse the heating element, power cord or plug in water or other liquids.
