Before First Use

Before you use the appliance for the first time, please do as follows: Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all the packaging material. Keep the material (plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. Check the appliance after unpacking for any damage, possibly from transportation. Place the appliance on a stable and heat-resistant surface.

The minimum amount of water must be 0.5 liters. The maximum amount of water to be used is 1.7 liters. Before use, you must fill the water kettle to the maximum level and boil this amount. Do this twice. Throw away the boiled water and rinse the kettle with cold water. The appliance is now ready to use. The kettle is only suitable for boiling water. Never fill the kettle with milk, tea, coffee, or others drinks.

Boiling Water

Before plugging into a socket, check that the voltage in your home corresponds with the voltage printed on the bottom of the appliance. Put the appliance on a cool, flat, and stable surface. Connect the appliance to an earthed socket. You can adjust the length of the cord by pulling it out from, or pushing it into, the interior of the appliance.

  1. Open the lid. Please firmly hold the kettle when pulling the lid off.

  2. Fill the kettle with an amount of water and place the lid back.

  3. Place the kettle on the base and make sure that the plug is in the socket.

  4. Switch the kettle on by pressing the on/off switch down to position 1.
The pilot lamp will light up. The kettle will now boil the water.

  5. The kettle will automatically switch off (0) when the water is boiled. The pilot lamp will switch off.

Attention:
never switch the kettle on without water. If for whatever reason, the kettle is switched on without water, the dry-boil protection will automatically switch the kettle off. Put the switch back up. In this case, take the kettle from the base and let it cool down for several minutes. After that, refill the kettle and switch it on again. Make sure that the lid is closed properly, if not the kettle will go on boiling and will not automatically switch off.

Switching The Kettle Off

The kettle will automatically switch off when the water is boiled and the pilot lamp will switch off. If you want to boil the water again, you must wait approx. 30 seconds before you switch it on again so that the switch can cool down. The kettle can also be switched off at any time with the switch. When you take the water bottle off the base while boiling, it will switch off. When you place the water kettle back on the base, you must again wait approx. 30 seconds to let the switch cool down before you can switch it back on.

Attention!
It may occur that you see condensation on the base. This is completely normal and has no consequences for the use of the water kettle.

Descaling

Scale can form on the inside of the water kettle. We advise descaling the water kettle from time to time. Use a suitable descaling product for water kettles/coffee machines and follow the instructions.

You can also descale the water kettle with lemon juice. The acid in this juice will remove the scale. This natural method avoids the use of chemicals. Fill the water kettle half-full with warm water. Add the juice of half a lemon. Boil the water and leave it to cool for half an hour. Throw away the boiled water and rinse the water kettle to remove any remainder. Fill the water kettle with fresh water and boil it again. Throw away the water and rinse the kettle once more. Never clean the appliance with detergents. These products can damage your water kettle.

To remove the anti-scalefilter for cleaning, take the water kettle of the base and let it cool down. Do not remove the anti-scalefilter when the water kettle is still warm and/or filled with water. Pull the anti-scalefilter straight back out of the spout and clean it with warm water. Make sure while replacing the filter to place it correctly in the spout. Place the point of the anti-scale filter first at the bottom and then push the filter back in place towards the spout.

Never place the anti-scalefilter loose in the water kettle.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Clean the water kettle on regular bases for continued performance. Never immerse the water kettle, the base, or the plug in water or others liquids. Let the waterkettle cool off and always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Wipe the outside of the water kettle with a damp cloth and dry the kettle afterward. Never use any abrasives!
