Don’t Ride Until You Read This:

ALWAYS wear a helmet when riding your electric scooter.

Make sure your scooter has a full battery before taking it out to ride.

Always be aware of local road laws, and follow them.

Do not ride the scooter under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Always respect pedestrians.

Do not ride under wet conditions. The scooter may slide from under your feet causing injury, wet conditions may damage the electronics and void the warranty.

Check List

Brake: Check the brakes for proper function. When you squeeze the lever, the brake should provide positive braking action. Make sure that brakes are not rubbing.

Frame, Fork and Handlebars: Check for cracks or broken connections. Although broken frames are rare. Get into the habit of inspecting your scooter on a regular basis.

Tires: Periodically inspect the tires for excess wear.

Hardware: Check all parts such as nuts, bolts, cables, fasteners, etc. to ensure they are secure and assembled correctly. If the unit is damaged do not ride.

  1. CHECK AND MAINTAIN SCOOTER CONDITIONS: Before use, check to make sure that any and all parts are in place and in a usable state.Riding an electric scooter does present potential risks and caution is required.Like any riding product, electric scooters can and are intended to move and it is therefore, of course, possible to lose control or otherwise get into dangerous situations. Both children and adults responsible for supervising them must recognize that if such things occur, a rider can be seriously injured or die, even when using safety equipment and other precautions.Neither MAXTRA is responsible for any injuries, damages or legal disputes caused by a rider’s inexperience or failure to follow the instructions in this manual.
  2. PARENTAL AND ADULT RESPONSIBILITY AND SUPERVISION IS NECESSARY: Because products like electric scooters, can and do present potential hazards plainly associated with their use, it is well recognized THE NEED FOR EXERCISE OF PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY IN SELECTING RIDING PRODUCTS APPROPRIATE TO THE AGE OF A CHILD.
  3. The recommended rider age is 6 an d older. Any rider unable to fit comfortably on the scooter should not attempt to ride it. A parent’s decision to allow his or her child to ride this product should be based on the child’s maturity, skill and ability to follow rules.Keep this product away from small children and remember that it is intended for use only by persons who are, at a minimum, completely comfortable and competent while operating the scooter.Persons with heart conditions, head, back or neck ailments (or prior surgeries to these areas of the body), or pregnant women, should be cautioned not to operate such products.
  4. Always check and obey any local laws or regulations, which may affect the locations where the electric scooter may be used. Keep safely away from cars and motor vehicle traffic at all times, and only use where allowed and with caution.
  5. Do not activate the speed control on the hand grip unless you are on the scooter and in a safe, outdoor environment suitable for riding.The normal powered top speed of this scooter will be approximately 13 km/h, which can be affected by conditions, such as rider weight, inclines and battery charge level. Avoid excessive speeds that can be associated with downhill rides.
  6. Maintain a hold on the handlebars at all times. Do not touch the brakes or motor on your scooter when in use or immediately after riding as these parts can become very hot.
  7. Ride defensively. Watch out for potential obstacles that could catch your wheel or force you to swerve suddenly or lose control. Be careful to avoid pedestrians, skaters, skateboards, scooters, bikes, children or animals who may enter your path, and respect the rights and property of others. The electric scooter is intended for use on flat, dry surfaces such, as pavement or level ground, without loose debris, such as sand, leaves, rocks or gravel. Wet, slick, bumpy, uneven or rough surfaces may impair traction and contribute to possible accidents. Do not ride your scooter in mud, ice, puddles or water. Watch out for potential obstacles that could catch your wheel or force you to swerve suddenly or lose control. Avoid sharp bumps, drainage grates, and sudden surface changes. Do not use on ramps.
  8. PROPER RIDING ATTIRE: Always wear proper protective equipment, such as an approved safety helmet (with chin strap securely buckled), elbow pads and kneepads. A helmet may be legally required by local law or regulation in your area.Never ride barefooted or in sandals, and keep shoelaces tied and out of the way of the wheels, motor and drive system.
  9. USING THE CHARGER: The charger supplied with the electric scooter should be regularly examined for damage to the cord, plug, enclosure and other parts. In the event of such damage, the scooter must not be charged until the charger has been replaced.
  10. DO NOT EXCEED THE WEIGHT LIMIT OF lbs. The minimum carrying weight shall not be less than 40lbs and the maximum carrying weight shall not be more than 155lbs. Rider weight does not necessarily mean a person’s size is appropriate to fit or maintain control of the scooter.

Assemble Your Scooter

  1. Use screws to attach the front wheel to the fork.

  2. Add nut and tighten.

  3. Open the quick release dip and pull down the fold botton, one hand presses the folding handle, one hand pulls up the handle lever.

  4. Pull up the handle and lock the quick release after the handle lever is stuck in the fixed position.

  5. Open the quick release clip and pull up the handle bar

  6. Lock the quick release after the elastic bead is fixed in the hole position.

  7. Rotate the armrest horizontal tube to the appropriate position.

  8. Insert hex screw, turn the knob, use after securing.

Charge Your Scooter

Note

  1. Charge immediately after receiving the product.
  2. After plugging the charger into the socket, the green light will light up, indicating that the charger is normally connected.When the charging port is connected to the scooter, the red light of the charger lights up, indicating that it is charging.
  3. Please turn off the power of the scooter when charging. After turning off the power, the lights of the scooter will not be on during the charging process.
  4. The battery must be charged immediately after each use until the indicator light turns green.

Warning

  1. The power cord, plug, shell and other parts of the charger should be checked regularly for damage. If there is any damage, the scooter can be charged only after the charger is repaired or replaced.
  2. Only use the original charger.
  3. Chargers are not toys.The charger should be operated by an adult.
  4. Do not operate the charger near flammable objects.
  5. Charging time should not exceed 20 hours.After charging, the charger should be removed from the socket in time.
  6. Charging, running, storage temperature: 0-4°C/32-104°F

Maintenance Tips

  1. Charge immediately after each use.
  2. Even when not in use, it must be charged every 60 days to protect the battery.
  3. Do not let the scooter discharge deeply. When not in use, make sure the scooter’s power switch is turned off. If the power switch is left on for a long time, the battery may not be recharged.
  4. In order to ensure long battery life, do not store the product in the freezing point or below the freezing point temperature, freezing will permanently damage the battery.

Warning

  1. Do not attempt to open, repair or change the behavior of the battery, which may damage the battery or cause accidents.
  2. If the battery leaks, avoid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged battery in a plastic bag.If acid comes into contact with skin or eyes, rinse with cold water for at least 15 minutes and contact a doctor.

Disposal

Do not dispose of a lead-acid battery in a fire. The battery may explode or leak.Do not dispose of a lead-acid battery in your regular household trash. The incineration, land filling or mixing of sealed lead-acid batteries with household trash is prohibited by law in most areas.Return exhausted batteries to a federal or state approved lead-acid battery recycler or a local seller of automotive batteries.

Controller

Information

The controller is the core part of the power control of scooter. If something goes wrong with your scooter, you can see the motorcycle’s status by watching the power LED light flash.

Power Switch:

When the switch is placed in “O”, it is in the power off state;When the switch is placed in “-“, it is in the energized state. At the same time, the red status indicator beside the switch is on. At this time, the vehicle can be started as long as the accelerating handle is rotated.

Reset Switch:

On the left side of the bottom is the reset button of overcurrent protection switch. When the scooter exceeds the set current for some reason, the overcurrent switch pops up and turns off the power supply of the whole machine.Press the reset button and the overcurrent switch returns to normal.

Speed Control:

Adjust the speed by twisting the Angle of the handle. When the handle is in its original position, the vehicle will stop.When the direction of the arrow to twist the speed control handle, the vehicle is moving forward, let go of the speed control handle, the vehicle is walking slowly by inertia.

Brake Handle:

The principle of combining the mechanical brake system with the electronic brake is adopted. When braking, the brake lock drives the wheel hub to brake. At the same time, the brake hand closes the micro switch inside, and the controller stops the output voltage (motor power off), which makes it easier to brake.

Maintenance & Repair

If you regularly clean and maintain your electric scooter, it will extend its life.

Cleaning and storage: if the electric scooter surface is dirty, wipe it clean with a soft cloth.

DO NOT use alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, or other corrosive chemical solvents to clean the scooter. It can Severely damage the appearance and structure of the scooter. Please do not use a pressure washer as it may also cause damage to the electronics.

Storage: When you’re not using your scooter store in a dry and cool location. Avoid storing your scooter outdoors because sun exposure can damage its appearance and may cause wear on the life of the battery and tires.
