3. Commissioning / Charging the Powerbank / Charging connected Devices

a) Charging the Powerbank
Connect the supplied micro-USB cable with the microUSB port (IN) of the Powerbank and connect the other end of the USB cable with a standard USB port of a computer or USB power supply.
The charging process and the current charge status is signaled via the LED status lights When the Powerbank is fully charged, the LED status lights are permanently on. The required charging time  of the Powerbank is dependent on the selected charging source and its output (max. 5V / 2.1A).

b) Charging devices with the Powerbank

  • This Powerbank has a USB A port (USB OUT) (Output 5V 3.1A max.) and a Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 USB A port (USB QC OUT) (Output normal 5V 3.1A max.; Output Quick Charge 5-6V 3.1A max., 9V 2.0A max., 12V 1.5A max.).
  • Normal charging: Connect the supplied USB cable with the USB A port (USB OUT) on the Powerbank and the other end of the USB cable with the microUSB port of the device to be charged (5V 3.1A max. Output).
  • Charging with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0: To be able to use the Quick Charge Technology (you can find more information at www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/quick-charge) you require a terminal device that supports this standard (if necessary, ask the manufacturer of your terminal device). Connect the supplied USB cable with the Quick Charge USB A port (USB QC OUT) to the Powerbank and the other end of the USB cable with the microUSB port of the device to be charged and compatible with Quick Charge. The intelligent control of the Quick Charge 3.0 Technology now adapts the charging process to your connected device (5-6V 3.1A max., 9V 2.0A max., 12V 1.5A max.). Quick Charge 3.0 is downward compatible to earlier versions, you can, therefore, for example, charge a Quick Charge 2.0 device with the advantages of the Quick Charge 2.0 Technology with this Powerbank.
  • You can also operate a device not compatible with Quick Charge on the USB QC OUT port, or a Quick Charge compatible device on the normal USB OUT port (Output 5V 3.1A max.).
  • You can charge two devices simultaneously with the Powerbank, for example, a Tablet at the normal USB A port (USB OUT) and a Smartphone at the Quick Charge (USB QC OUT) port. However, the Quick Charge Technology is only supported when only one Quick Charge capable device is connected to the USB QC OUT. When two devices are connected simultaneously, the normal charging standard is used for both ports and the maximum output voltage is shared between both ports (Output 5V 3.1A max.)
  • Of course you can also use your own USB charging cable to connect the Powerbank with your device. However, please note that devices can only be charged via the USB A ports (USB A OUT / USB QC OUT) of the Powerbank and you require a Quick Charge capable USB cable for the Quick Charge Technology (if necessary, ask the manufacturer of your USB cable).
  • If a device is charged with the Powerbank and the capacity of the Powerbank is almost exhausted, this is signalled by blinking of the last status LED. Please re-charge the Powerbank.
  • Please note that while charging a device with a Powerbank, about 30% of the total capacity is used up just through the charging process. This is due, for example, through the loss of power from circuit warmth and voltage conversion.
  • The Powerbank has to be used regularly for optimum performance. If this is not the case, charge the Powerbank fully at least every three months.
  • Make sure that the warmth created through the charging process can be emitted from the device (ideally place the Powerbank on a firm and heat-resistant base while in use).
