Using your appliance

Prepare paper to be shredded removing paper clips, staples, and any other objects that may jam the feed slot.

1. AUTO Mode

To use this mode, turn the function switch to “Auto”. Feed the paper into the paper feed opening or open the cover of the CD in the CD feed opening and put the CD or card in, the micro-switch in the feed opening will be pressed.
The shredder will operate to shred the paper/CD or credit card.
Once all the papers/CD have been shredded, it will stop itself.
When the motor is overheated, the machine will be shut off automatically, after cooling down about 30 minutes the machine can be started again.

****NOTE: The maximum amount of paper that can be fed through is 10 sheets at a time. Overfeeding will jam the paper and the shredder will stop working.

Overheat Safety Device

Your shredder is fitted with a safety device that switches off the unit in the event of overload. Should the unit stop working, turn it off and unplug it from the mains. Allow the motor to cool down to room temperature (approx. 30min) before resuming operation.

2. OFF Mode

To switch off the shredder, turn the function switch to the “OFF” position.

3. REVERSE Mode

Turn the function switch to the “REV” position. The cutting blade in the shredder will run in the reverse direction when the function switch is set to the “REV” position.

Paper jam

Turn the function switch to the “REV” position to let the cutting blade run in the reverse direction. Then the paper will come out from the feeding opening. Pull out the paper carefully to clear the feeder. Once the jammed paper is removed, turn the function switch to the “AUTO” position for normal operation.

If “REV” does not clear the paper jam

Before removing jammed paper from blades manually, set switch to OFF position and unplug. Remove shredder head from the waste bin, turn it over and remove jammed paper from the blades. Be VERY CAREFUL as the blades are very sharp!
Replace head-on the waste bin and plug back in and move the switch to AUTO position to shred as normal.
ALWAYS UNPLUG THE SHREDDER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO MANUALLY REMOVE JAMMED PAPER. NEVER INSERT METAL OBJECTS INTO THE  FEED SLOTS OR THE BLADES TO REMOVE JAMMED PAPER.
