This vacuum is equipped with variable suction
-
If experiencing low suction, verify at what level the suction is set
-
It can be adjusted through the Handle/Controller
-
Confirm the door is latched shut
- Door will not latch without the dirt container fully assembled and properly installed
-
Verify the dirt container is not full
- Empty if needed
-
Inspect the pre-motor filter
- Pull out dirt cup to see two pre-motor filters
- The foam filter may be cleaned with warm water and mild detergent
- Allow it to completely air dry (24-48 hours) before reinstalling
- The white pleated filter can be shaken out, but not washed (Exception: Model #63X4C Pleated Filter can be washed)
- If dark in color, a replacement filter will need to be ordered
-
Check the motor duct for suction
- Turn the machine on and feel for suction at the inner motor duct
- If no suction at the motor duct, visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
-
Test for suction at the inlet to the machine
- Reinstall filters and dirt cup
- Remove hose and check for a clog in the suction opening
- If there is full suction at the front of the machine, there is a clog somewhere in the hose or attachments
-
Check for suction from the hose
- Reinstall hose on the machine
- Remove extensions and handle from hose
- Turn machine on and place hand over the end of the hose
- If the hose is clogged, work the clog loose by massaging the clogged area and/or gently twisting the hose where it’s clogged until the clog works itself free
- Make sure the hose is securely attached to the suction opening
- Check the hose for cracks or holes
-
Examine the extension wand and handle for clogs
- Clogs in the extension wand can be removed by pushing a broom stick through wand and/or pushing something flexible with blunt edges through the handle
- Be sure not to use anything that may scratch any of the components
-
Check the post-motor filter on the back of machine for clogs
- The Post-motor filter is not washable and should to be replaced when dirty
- Push the tab on the filter door down and remove filter door
-
If machine is blowing dust,
- Verify the door is securely latched
- The door will not latch without the dirt container fully assembled and in place
- Confirm the filters are installed correctly
- There is only one way each filter can go into the machine
-
If the machine is still blowing dust, visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
