Unplug machine
-
Empty dirt cup
-
Confirm the dirt cup is installed correctly
- There should be no gaps between dirt cup and upper tank

Remove upper tank and clear any debris

Check separator for debris
- Remove dirt cup, twist separator grill to the right to unlock, pull down
- If hard to remove, grasp the separator grill by the circular bottom
- Clean with warm water if needed
- Allow separator to completely dry before reinstalling
- To reinstall, insert it back into the machine and twist to the left to lock into place
- You will hear a click when it locks

Clean filters
- Remove dirt cup, grasp filter cup assembly by the tabs of the clear plastic top to lift up/out
- Rotate the clear plastic lid to the right to unlock
- Lock/unlock icon on the filter cup assembly
- Separate the clear plastic lid from the white container by lifting out
- The filters will be attached to the lid
- To remove, twist to the right to unlock then pull apart
- Remove the outer foam filter from the pleated filter
- Foam filter can be washed
- Pleated filter CANNOT be washed
- Allow filter to completely air dry (24-48 hours) before reinstalling
- Inspect the pre-motor mesh filter
- Filter is located at the motor duct
- Clean with warm water and mild detergent
- Allow filter to completely air dry (24-48 hours) before reinstalling
- Check for suction at the motor duct
- Motor duct is beneath the pre-motor mesh filter
- Remove circular filter assembly under the dirt cup to check the motor duct

Turn on the machine and put your hand over the motor duct to check for suction
- If no suction at the motor duct, please visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us

Check foot for clogs
- To remove the foot assembly, straighten the foot connector
- Lay the machine down so the foot is facing up
- Push down on the white latch that connects the foot assembly to the machine to release the foot assembly
- Pull the foot off the machine
- Look through the suction path to check for debris
- Shake out debris clogged in the foot of the vacuum
- If shaking the foot doesn’t clear the clog, a pipe cleaner or coat hanger may need to be run through the foot to loosen debris

Reattach the foot assembly
- Make sure the foot assembly is properly snapped back into place
- A loose foot could cause poor suction
- If there is still no suction, please visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
