Power Supply
Please install batteries before using the camera.
- Open the camera case and remove the battery cover. Install 12 pieces of 1.5V AA batteries (4pcs in the left battery compartment, 8pcs in the right battery compartment).Please make sure the electrode is correct.
Inserting Storage Media
Please prepare a Micro SD card and insert it into the camera for saving more
files.
Before recording, please format the memory card first.
- Support Micro SD card, up to 512GB. Suggest to use at least class 10 or above high speed card.
- To avoid malfunction, the memory card should be far away water, strong vibration, dust, hot source and direct sunlight.
- Do not insert the memory card forcibly. Please refer to the marking on the camera.
- For the first time use, please wait for the memory card temperature reach the ambient temperature. The camera will be short-circuit influenced by environment temperature and humidity. Please notice the protection for the camera when using it outdoor.
- If the capacity of the memory card is full, the TL1 will stop recording automatically and the LEDs will go out.
- Press the edge of the card gently to pop-up the Micro SD card.
Basic Operation
Turn On/Off the Camera
After the battery is plugged in, long press the power button to start the device. Long press the power button again to turn it off.
Adjustment Mode
The TL1 has 3 different modes: Photo Mode, Video Mode and Playback Mode. Press the Mode button to change mode.
Photo Mode
For taking still photos.
Video Mode
For recording video
Playback Mode
For playing the recorded files.
- Taking Photos: Press the MODE button to switch to photo mode. Press OK button to take a picture.
- Record Videos: Press the MODE button to switch to video mode. Press OK to start recording, and press OK again to stop recording.
- Playback: Press the MODE button to switch to the playback interface, press the up/down button to browse the saved photos and videos. When playing back the video, press the OK button to play, press the OK button again to pause, and press the menu button to stop playing. Press the playback button again to exit playback mode
Playback Menu
- Delete current file: Delete the current photo or video. Options: Cancel/Delete.
- Delete all files: Delete all photo and video files in the memory card. Options: Cancel/Delete.
- Activate slide show: Playback the photos in slides. Each photo displays in 3 seconds. Press OK button to stop playing.
- Write protect: Lock the file. It can avoid accident deletion. Options: Write protect current file/Write-protect all files/Unlock current file/Unlock all files.
System Setup
After starting up, click the MODE button and then click the MENU button to set the camera.
- Press MODE button to switch the Video/Photo/playback mode.
- Press Menu button to open the setup menu.
- Press Up/Down button to review all menu. Then press OK button to enter the options interface.
- Press Up/Down button to review all options. And press OK button to confirm options.
- Press Menu button again to turn back to last menu or exit the setup menu.
Setup Menu and Functions
In the photo and video mode, press the menu button to modify the settings.

Setting | The overview shows the important information that has been set |
so far. Display the set mode, interval time, recording time, current battery
power, Micro SD card available space.
Mode| Set timing shooting or time-lapse shooting. Press OK to set the
week and time interval for time-lapse shooting. (Press MODE button to switch,
press up/down button to select), timing shooting interval and video duration.
Options: Time-lapse Photo/Time lapse Video /Timing Photo/Timing Video.
LED| Set the LED switch. Options: On/Off.
Exposure| Set the exposure.
Options: +0.3 EV/+0.2 EV/+0.1 EV/+0.0 EV/-1.0 EV/-2.0 EV/-3.0 EV
Language| Set the language display on screen. Options:
English/Deutsch/Dansk/Suomi/Svenska/Spanish/French/Italian/
Nederland/Portuguese/Simplified Chinese/Traditional Chinese/Japanese
Photo Resolution| Set the image resolution.
Options: 2MP (1920X1080P) / 1MP (1280 X 720P)
Video Resolution| Set the video resolution. The bigger the resolution
is, the longer the video time can be stored.
Options: 1920X1080P/1280 X 720P
Frequency| Set the light source frequency to match frequency of
electricity supply in local region to prevent interference. Options:
50Hz/60Hz.
Video Length| Set the duration of recording a video clip. The shortest
time is 3 seconds and the longest time is 120 seconds. Options: 3 seconds~120
seconds.
Photo Stamp| Stamp the date & time on the photos or not. Options: Time &
date/Date/Off
Target Recording Time 1| Set the monitoring time of the camera, you can
set a specific time period for the camera to record. You can set the start
time and end time of camera recording. After the setting is completed, the
camera will only record during the set time period every day, and it will be
on standby at other times. Options: On/Off.

Beep Sound| Open/Close the button sound. Options: On/Off.
Loop Recording| Set the camera to record video in loop. The earliest
document is deleted when the card is nearly full, and the loop is endless.
Options: On/Off.
Date Format| Set the date and time of the camera. Date format: dd/mm/yy;
yy/mm/dd; mm/dd/yy.
Time & Date| Press the mode button to select the position to be modified,
press the up/down button to modify the value, and press the OK button to
confirm.
Audio Recording| Open this function, the camera will record audio when
recording video. Options: On/Off.
Reset Settings| Restore the camera to factory default settings including
password, serial number and so on. Options: On/Off.
Version| Look up the Firmware information of the camera
Format Memory Card| Formatting the memory card will delete all data
permanently.
Before using a new memory card or a card that has been used in another device
previously, please format the memory card.
Options: On/Off.
Time Lapse Setting
You can set automatic or manual time-lapse for time-lapse shooting.
Set Automatic Time-Lapse Shooting
After starting up, in the Photo/video mode, you can click the MENU button and press the Up or Down button to switch to MODE option

Time-lapse (Photo) is time-lapse for photo, can be set to take 1 photo every 3 seconds to 24 hours, and automatically connect photos to generate time-lapse AVI videos in real time;

Time-lapse (Video) is time-lapse for video, it can be set to record a short video of 3 seconds to 120 seconds every 3 seconds to 24 hours, and automatically generate AVI video;

Timing Photo is Timing for photo, it can be set to take 1 photo every 3 seconds to 24 hours;

Timing Video is timing for video, it can be set to record a video from 3 seconds to 120 seconds every 3 seconds to 24 hours;
Press OK button to set the day of the week and set the interval time for Timing;
After setting, return to the main interface and short press the power button.
The screen will prompt a 15-second countdown after the time-lapse starts.
After the countdown is over, it will enter the time-lapse and Timing mode.
Enter the time-lapse mode and the camera will shoot according to the time you
set; short press the power button again to stop time-lapse shooting.
Set Manual Time-Lapse Shooting
a. After starting up, press the MODE button to switch to the photo
mode, press the Up/MTL button to enter the manual photo time-lapse photo,
press OK button to shoot and then press Up/MTL button again to stop the
manual time-lapse photo.
b. After starting up, press the mode button to switch to the video mode,
press the Up/MTL button to enter the manual time-lapse video, press OK
button to start and then press Up/MTL button again to stop the manual
time-lapse video.
You can mount the TL1 permanently on a wall or tree using the supplied screw mount. Before mounting the screw mount you should ensure that all existing screws are tight.

Mounting the Screw Mount
Required Tools
- Drill
- 6 mm masonry/concrete drill bit
- Phillips head screwdriver
CAUTION
- Ensure that there are no electric lines, water or heating pipes installed at the proposed drilling location.
- The supplied wall plugs are only suitable for mounting on concrete and stone.
Before starting the installation, please check your installation location carefully for its suitability for the plugs.
The assembly material used must be suitable for the respective location. If in doubt, consult a professional.
Installation Steps
- Mark the drill holes by holding the foot of the Screw Mount at the desired mounting location and marking the hole positions.
- Use a drill with a 6 mm drill bit to drill the required holes and insert the plugs and insert the wall plugs flush with the wall.
- Screw the screw mount to the wall using the supplied screws .
- Mount the camera on the tripod screw and screw the camera a little way on (about three turns).
- Turn the camera in the desired direction and lock it with the lock nut.
- To move the camera into its final position, undo the two pivot bolts a little, position the camera and fix the position by tightening the two pivot bolts.
Download Files to a Computer
There are two ways to download files from the memory card to a computer:
- By inserting the memory card into a card reader.
- By connecting the camera to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
Using a Card Reader
- Pop-up the memory card from the camera and insert it into a card reader. Then connect the card reader to a computer.
- Open My Computer or Windows Explorer and double-click the removable disk icon that represents the memory card.
- Copy image or video files from the memory card to your computer.
Connecting the Camera to a PC by the USB Cable
- Connect the camera to the computer via USB cable. Turn on the camera, the screen will display “MSDC”.
- Open My Computer or Windows Explorer. A “Removable Disk” appears in the drive list. Double-click the “Removable Disk” icon to view its contents. All files are stored in the folder named “DCIM”.
- Copy the photos or files to your computer.
Notes on Maintenance
Note:
Before cleaning the device, disconnect it from the power supply (remove
batteries)!
Only use a dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. To avoid damaging the electronics, do not use any cleaning fluid. Clean the lenses only with a soft, lint free cloth (e.g. microfiber cloth). To avoid scratching the lenses, use only gentle pressure with the cleaning cloth. Protect the device from dust and moisture. Store it in a bag or box. Remove the batteries from the device if it is not used for a longer time.
