Introduction
Audiophile quality without the audiophile cost. Motion 2i, 4i, 6i, and 8i are compact and reasonably priced loudspeakers with excellent Folded Motion tweeters and powerful bass technology that are modelled after Martin Logan’s ultra-high-end electrostatic loudspeakers’ clarity and detail. A large surface area (much larger than a typical one-inch dome tweeter) and the tweeter’s lightning-fast response are key factors in performance. Together, they produce a smooth, refined sound with stunning dynamic range and jaw-dropping clarity certain to arouse envy in both audiophiles and non-audiophiles.

Allow approximately 72 hours of break-in at 90 dB (moderate listening levels) before any critical listening.
INSTALLING ON A FLAT SURFACE
If you have a surface that provides a wide, level, and stable platform, the speaker can be placed directly on top. When using the speaker in this configuration, affix the pads to the bottom of the speaker at the rear contact points (fig. 4). Note:.
INSTALLING ON A WALL
Note: This speaker is mountable in either a horizontal or vertical orientation. Horizontal mounting requires the use of two shoulder bolts and two wall brackets. Vertical mounting requires the use of only one shoulder bolt and mounting bracket.
Note: These instructions assume the mounting surface is standard wood frame and sheet rock construction. If you wish to mount to another type of surface, consult a bonded contractor.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I clean my speakers?****
Use a dust free cloth (such as a micro fiber cloth) or a soft brush to remove dust from your speakers. Do not spray any kind of cleaning agent on or in close proximity to the drivers.
Could you suggest a list of suitable electronics and cables ideal for MartinLogan speakers?****
We have no favorites and use electronics and cables quite interchangeably. We would suggest listening to a number of brands and above all else trust your ears. Dealers are always the best source for information when purchasing additional audio equipment.
Is there likely to be any interaction between my speakers and the television in my A/V system?****
Yes. These speakers are not shielded and should be kept at least 2 feet away from a CRT television.
Will exposure to sunlight affect the life or performance of my speakers?****
We recommend against placing any loudspeaker in direct sunlight. Ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun can cause deterioration of cabinet, speaker cones, etc. Small exposures to UV will not cause a problem. Filtering of UV rays through glass will greatly reduce the negative effects.
How do I set my center channel speaker?****
Whether in front or behind the screen, always position the center channel speaker as close as you can to the image.
Can you use any speaker for center channel?****
For your center channel, you can utilize any speaker (aside from a subwoofer), but preferably, you should pick a speaker with a horizontal cabinet design rather than a vertical or square one.
What is a 3 way center channel speaker?****
The mid-range, woofer, and tweeter drivers, collectively known as the 3-way speaker, produce sound.
Should center speaker be louder than front?****
No, the middle shouldn’t be louder than the fronts when tuned properly. The center is not louder because of the setup’s numbers (or not as loud).
Should center channel have bass?****
You don’t require a lot of bass from your center channel speaker. That’s because the center channel of the majority of movie soundtracks doesn’t contain a lot of bass information.
Should I use center speaker for music?****
A center channel speaker is probably not required if you are only setting up your system for music.
Does a center channel have to match the other speakers?****
The center channel speaker needs to sound the same as the front left and right speakers for the front soundstage to be seamless.
Should center speaker be above or below screen?****
The ideal placement for the center speaker is right below the TV. This will most accurately replicate sound emanating from the TV and should be at or near ear level.
Should I set my center speaker to large or small?****
For timbre matching purposes, your Center channel should typically be set to the same size as your Front L/R speakers.
