SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The following precautions must always be taken into consideration before using the “Digital sunrise alarm LED clock”, hereinafter referred to as the ‘device’.

General information

  • Read the instructions for use carefully and keep them safe. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on this manual.
  • Only use this device in accordance with the instructions in this user manual.
  • The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
  • This device is intended for domestic or similar use, not for professional use.
  • The guarantee will expire immediately if damage has been caused by failing to comply with this user manual. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by non-compliance with the user manual, negligent use or use which does not comply with conditions in this user manual
  • WARNING! Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material for children. Risk of suffocation!

Batteries, electricity & heat

  • The rechargeable battery of the device should be charged for approximately ±3.5 hours before using the device for the first time.
  • Make sure your hands are dry before touching the device, power cord or plug.
  • When plugging in the power cable, make sure people cannot accidentally pull it out or trip over it.
  • Never leave the device to charge unattended.
  • Regularly check the charging cable for damage.
  • Do not charge the device if the charging cable shows signs of damage.
  • Make sure the charging cable cannot be trodden on or pinched.
  • Do not allow the charging cable to hang over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and naked flames.
  • Remove the power cable during lightning storms or if unused for long periods of time.
  • Do not use the device if it has become faulty, or if it has fallen or become damaged in any way. Send the device to the manufacturer or the closest qualified service centre for inspection.
  • Ensure that the device and cable do not come into contact with heat sources, such as hotplates or naked flames.
  • Always remove the charger cable from the device once charging has been completed.
  • Do not attempt to charge the device when the battery is damaged.
  • To reduce or prevent the risk of personal injury, electrical shock, fire or damage to the device, never insert metal objects in any opening of the USB charging port or any other openings or ports.
  • The rechargeable batteries are built into the device and cannot be replaced.
  • WARNING! Do not open the casing as this may result in electric shock!
  • Do not expose the device to direct sunlight, heat sources, excessive humidity or corrosive environments.
  • Do not use or store the device in the immediate vicinity of heat sources such as naked flames.
  • Do not crush, puncture or dismantle the device; this might damage the battery.
  • WARNING! Damaging the casing and/or piercing the device, can lead to explosion or fire!
  • WARNING! To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, protect the device from dripping or splashing water and keep away from objects filled with liquids, such as vases. Such objects should not be placed on or near the device.
  • Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If the liquid gets on the skin, wash it off immediately with soap and water. If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek medical attention.
  • WARNING! Do not throw the device into a fire, as it may explode!
  • Do not dispose of the device in your household waste. Take it to your local recycling station. Contact your local government offices for details.
  • After charging has been completed, always disconnect the power plug from the electrical outlet.
  • The device does not contain any parts which can be serviced by the user.
  • WARNING! Never cover the power cable or device with cloths, curtains or any other material in order to prevent overheating and potential fire hazards.

Use

  • Prior to use, check the device for visible external damage. Never operate the device if it is damaged.
  • Do not use the device in the vicinity of flammable materials.
  • Do not place the device under any mechanical stress.
  • Improper use of the device could damage the product.
  • Please handle the device carefully. Jolts, impacts or falls, even from a low height, can damage the device.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device or modify it in any manner.
  • The device must be serviced if it has been damaged in any way, i.e. the power supply cord/plug is damaged, or if it does not operate properly.
  • Do not use or store the device in an environment subject to strong static electricity or magnetic fields.
  • Only allow repairs to be carried out by a qualified service centre. Qualified service centre: after-sales department of the manufacturer or store, which is recognised and authorised to carry out such repairs, so that potential hazards can be prevented. If problems are encountered with the device, please return it to this department.

Important information, follow these instructions

  • Keep children under strict supervision to prevent them from using the device as a toy.
  • Do not allow unsupervised children to clean or maintain this device.
  • Only use the device indoors, in dry areas and not in the vicinity of water, other liquids or humidity.
  • Do not use the device if it, the cable or power plug has fallen into water or any kind of fluid.
  • Never immerse the device, cable and power plug in water or any kind of fluid.

Cleaning:

• Before cleaning the device, always disconnect the device from the power cord.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning solvents to clean the device.
• Clean the exterior of the device with a damp cloth.

INSTALLING AND USING THE DEVICE

Overview-product

Open the packaging carefully before taking out the device. Make sure the device is complete and undamaged. If any components are missing or damaged, contact the vendor and do not use the product. Retain the packaging or recycle it in accordance with local regulations.

Charging the device:

• Carefully plug the micro USB connector into the USB charging port A of the device.
• Plug the USB connector of the charging cable into a USB port on your computer or USB charger.
• The LED indicator B flashes red when the device is charging.
• Once charging is completed, the LED indicator B will light up red and the device will automatically stop charging.
• Unplug the charging cable from the device, which is now ready for use.
• If the battery level is low, you will hear two beeps every 10 seconds, indicating that the battery needs to be recharged.

Powering the device ON/OFF:
  • To power ON the device, press the ‘power’ button G for ± 3 seconds.
    Once powered ON, you will hear a ‘tone’, the display 9 will light up and the time is shown (initial setting 00:00).

  • Power OFF the device: press the ‘power’ button G for ± 3 seconds, you will hear a ‘tone’ & the display 9 will switch OFF.

  • When the device is powered OFF, the time can be shown on the display 9 for ± 5 seconds by pressing one of the buttons 1 to 8 .

Setting the time:

When powering ON the device, it is in time mode. By pressing the ‘clock’ button 1 you can switch between setting the hour and minutes.

  • Use the ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+’ 5 buttons to set the time.
  • Press the ‘clock’ button 1 until the hours on the display 9 start flashing, and use ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+‘ 5 to set the hour. Confirm the set hour by pressing the ‘clock’ button 1.
  • Press the ‘clock’ button 2 two times until the minutes on the display 9 start flashing, and use ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+‘ 5 to set the minutes. Confirm the set minutes by pressing the ‘clock’ button 1.
    Note! If there is no activity for ± 3 sec, the time will stop flashing.
Modes

You can select the desired mode. Each mode is described in detail below:
Power ON: time mode => natural sounds => BT => FM =>
If a USB flash drive, Micro SD card and AUX-in are connected, you can select the desired mode:
Power ON: => time mode => natural sounds => BT => FM => AUX-in => USB Flash => Micro SD =>
Note! When a USB flash drive and Micro SD card are connected, these can be selected, but are indicated with the ‘TF’ icon on the display 9.

Natural sounds:
When the device is powered ON, press the ‘mode’ button G to listen to natural sounds. On the display 9 the ‘NS’ icon will light up. Press the ‘next’ H or ‘previous’ button J to select one of the 7 sounds.
Natural sounds: singing birds 1 => jungle 2 => valley 3 => wind 4 => water creek 5 => rain 6 => beep 7

Wireless BT
When the device is powered ON, press the ‘mode’ button G two times to enable the BT mode.
This allows you to connect your smartphone or tablet in order to stream music or answer phone calls handsfree. You will hear a ‘tone’ and ‘BT’ will flash quickly on the display, 9 .
To set up a wireless BT connection, go to “Making a BT connection (BT pairing)”.

FM radio
When the device is powered ON, press the ‘mode’ button G three times to switch to the FM radio mode. On the display 9 the ‘FM’ icon will light up.
Press the ‘play-pause’ button I for ± 3 seconds to start the FM radio auto search mode. The found radio stations are stored under the presets automatically. Press the ‘play-pause’ button I to stop the auto search mode and return to the 1st stored presets. Press the ‘next’ H or ‘previous’ button J to select one of the stored FM presets. ‘CH xx’ is shown on the display 9 (xx stands for the number of the FM preset).

USB port
When connecting a USB flash drive to the USB port D you will hear a ‘tone’ and on the display 9 the ‘TF’ icon will light up. The music stored on the USB flash drive will automatically start playing. Press the ‘next’ button H or ‘previous’ button J to select tracks. The track number will be shown on the display 9 for ± 2 seconds.
Note! The file formats supported are: MP3, WAV. The maximum supported capacity = 32 Gb.

TF / Micro SD card slot
When inserting a Micro SD card in the TF card slot reader C (with the connections facing up) C , push it in the slot until you hear a “click”. Once correctly inserted, you will hear a ‘tone’ and on the display 9 the ‘TF’ icon will light up. The music stored on the Micro SD card will start playing automatically. Press the ‘next’ button H or
‘previous’ button J to select tracks. The track number will be shown on the display 9 for ±2 seconds.
Note! The file formats supported are: MP3, WAV. The maximum supported capacity = 32 Gb.

AUX-IN
When connecting an external audio source to the AUX in port E with the 3.5 mm stereo jack cable, you will hear a ‘tone’ and on the display 9 the ‘AU’ icon will light up. You can now play music from your connected external audio source on the device.

Volume setting
  • To increase the volume, press and hold the ‘volume up’ button H .
  • To decrease the volume, press and hold the ‘volume down’ button J .
  • The volume setting will be shown on the display 9 as ‘U xx’ (xx stands for the volume level, 00 to 16).

Setting the alarm with natural sound
For waking up with one of the 7 natural sounds, press the ‘alarm 1’ button 2 for ± 2 seconds to activate the alarm. The ‘alarm 1’ icon will light up and the hours & minutes digits will flash on the display 9 indicating the set alarm time.

Adjusting the set alarm
Press the ‘alarm 1’ button 2 until the hours on the display 9 start flashing. Use the ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+‘ 5 buttons to set the hour. Confirm the set hour by pressing the ‘alarm 1’ button 2 .
Press the ‘alarm 1’ button 2 two times until the minutes on the display 9 start flashing. Use the ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+‘ 5 buttons to set the minutes. Confirm the set minutes by pressing the ‘alarm 1’ button 2 .

Setting the desired natural sound:
Press the ‘alarm 1’ button 2 three times to set the desired natural sound.
Use the ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+‘ 5 buttons to select the desired natural sound: singing birds 1 => jungle 2 => valley 3 => wind 4 => water creek 5 => rain 6 => beep 7.
‘A xx’ will be shown on the display 9 (xx stands for the number of the selected natural sound). Confirm the set natural sound by pressing the ‘alarm 1’ button 2 .

When the alarm is enabled, the device will start 30 minutes before the set alarm by gradually lighting up to a maximum brightness at the set alarm.
In other words, at the set alarm the light is at maximum brightness and the natural sound will sound.
Note! If the set alarm is <30 min, the lighting up function is not enabled.

To switch OFF the alarm, press the ‘alarm 1’ button 2 for ± 2 seconds, the light and natural sound will switch off.

Setting the alarm with FM radio
For waking up with FM radio, press the ‘alarm 2’ button 6 for ± 2 seconds to activate the alarm. The ‘alarm 2’ icon will light up and the hours & minutes digits will flash on the display 9 indicating the set alarm time.

Adjusting the set alarm
Press the ‘alarm 2’ button 6 until the hours on the display 9 start flashing. Use ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+‘ 5 buttons to set the hour. Confirm the set hour by pressing the ‘alarm 2’ button 6 .
Press the ‘alarm 2’ button 6 two times until the minutes on the display 9 start flashing, and use ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+‘ 5 buttons to set the minutes. Confirm the set minutes by pressing the ‘alarm 2’ button 6 .

To set the desired FM preset
Press the ‘alarm 2’ button 6 three times to set the desired FM preset. Use the ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+‘ 5 buttons to select one of the desired FM presets.
‘CH xx’ will be shown on the display 9 (xx stands for the number of the selected FM preset). Confirm the set FM preset by pressing the ‘alarm 2’ button 6 .
When the alarm is enabled, the device will start 30 minutes before the set alarm by gradually lighting up to a maximum brightness at the set alarm.
In other words, at the set alarm, the light is at maximum brightness and the FM preset will sound.
To switch OFF the alarm, press the ‘alarm 2’ button 6 for ± 2 seconds. The light and FM sound will switch off.

Snooze
When the alarm sounds, press the ‘snooze’ button 8 to activate the snooze mode. The alarm will sound again after 9 minutes. The light and sound of the device will turn off.
Gradually, the light will light up to maximum brightness until the alarm sounds again. When the device is in snooze mode, the icon of the set alarm (alarm 1 or 2) will flash on the display 9 .

Note! The device will enter snooze mode automatically if the alarm sounds for 3 minutes without any operation.
Note! The device can be snoozed 4x maximum!

Light mode
You can also use the device as reading light. Press the ‘light’ button 4 to switch ON the light.
Use the ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+‘ 5 buttons to adjust the brightness.

Press the ‘light’ button 4 to change the light from white to colour mode.
The 7 different colours will automatically fade in/out from: red => purple => blue => light blue => green => yellow => cyan =>
In colour mode, you can set a fixed colour, by pressing button the ‘-‘ 3 or ‘+‘ 5 buttons. red => green => blue => purple => yellow => light blue =>
Press the ‘light’ button 4 to switch off the light.

Sunset mode
In the sunset mode the light will gradually decrease brightness, until the light is fully switched off. There are 3 sunset modes (30 – 60 & 90 minutes).
Press the ‘sunset’ button 7 to activate the sunset mode. The ‘sunset’ icon and ‘30’ will light up in the display 9 . You can adjust the timer by pressing the ‘sunset’ button 7 to the desired timer setting (30=>60=>90=>)

Note! When playing music in one of the selected modes, the music will be switched OFF when the set time has elapsed.

Making a BT connection (BT pairing):

• When the device is ON, press the ‘power’ button G 2x. You will hear a ‘tone’ and on the display, 9 the ‘BT’ icon will flash, indicating it is in pairing mode.
• Keep the device and your BT enabled device within 1 M (3 ft) of each other during the BT pairing process.
• Make your mobile phone, tablet or other BT enabled device search for compatible BT devices. (Make sure the BT function is turned ON).
• When your BT enabled device finds the device, select ”DO-CE-WL01-W” from the list of found devices.
• A ‘tone’ will sound to indicate successful pairing. The ‘BT’ icon on the display 9 will stop flashing.
• If a paired BT enabled device is in range, the device will connect automatically when the device is in BT mode.

NOTE!
If you would like to connect the device to another BT enabled device, you must first disconnect it from the active paired BT enabled device. Go to your BT enabled device’s BT settings, select “DO-CE-WL01-W”, and select “disconnect” or “unpair”. You can also simply switch off the BT function. When the device has been unpaired and/or does not have an active paired BT connection, repeat the pairing process with the (new) BT enabled device you want to connect to the device.

Listen to music:
If you want to play and/or pause music from your connected BT enabled device, open your media player and press play.
You can control the music by your play-pause, previous and next track’ & volume up and down keys on your BT enabled device. You can also use the ‘play- pause’ I ,
‘previous track’ J , ‘next track’ H , ‘volume up’ H & ‘volume down’ J buttons of the device.

Answering a call:
If there is an incoming call; briefly press the ‘call pickup/end’ button I to answer the call. You can also answer the call as normal on your mobile phone, and it will automatically connect to the device.
Please note: If you were listening to music, the music will stop playing when receiving an incoming call.

Ending a call:
If you want to end an ongoing call, briefly press the ‘call pickup/end’ button I to end the call or press the “call end button” on your mobile phone.
Please note: If you were listening to music before you started the call, the music will automatically resume playing when you end the call.

Reject a call
If you would like to reject an incoming call, press the call pickup/end’ button I for a longer period of time.
