OPERATION

1. Only connect the appliance to a mains outlet corresponding to the voltage as indicated on the appliance rating plate.
2. Turn the selector switch clockwise to set the toasting level from the lightest stage 1 to the darkest stage 5. If in any doubt, start with the lower setting (the black mark on the selector switch shows you the setting).
3. Insert sliced bread into the toasting slot and push down the lever until it locks.
4. The appliance starts toasting. The appliance switches off immediately once the set degree of toasting has been reached. The toast then pops up automatically.
5. The appliance has a heat-insulated “cool-touch” casing. However, as metal parts still heat up during operation, please allow cooling down before you put it away.
6. Only allow 2 slices of the toast to be toasted at a time.

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS

If you wish to use the special functions, press the button you wish to select once you have pushed down the lever: REHEAT or DEFROST. The corresponding control lamp displays the function.
DEFROSTING: To defrost and toast deep-frozen bread
REHEATING: To reheat toasted bread
CANCEL: To stop toasting prematurely
BAGEL: While operating the Bagel function the central heating elements will heat up not the outer wall elements.
INTEGRATED GRILL: For toasting buns or cut sliced bread

CLEANING

• Before cleaning, remove the plug from the socket and allow the appliance to cool down.
• Use a moderately damp cloth to clean the outside of the appliance.
• Do not use any aggressive or scrubbing detergents.
• To remove crumb residue remove the base plate, empty it, and slide it back in place.

PLUG:

1. This appliance has been fitted with a BS UK compliant plug which should not be replaced or removed.
2. The plug is fitted with a 13 amp fuse link which is suitable for this type of appliance and should only be replaced by a fuse link of the same rating.
3. If access to the fuse link is only possible by removing the plug cover this must only be done by a suitably qualified person.
4. If the plug or the mains cable of this appliance is damaged do not use and dispose of the appliance responsibly.
5. This appliance is earthed.
