How to use the hair dryer

  1. Before using the hair dryer, confirm that the power switch is at position “0”, then plug into a household outlet and turn on the power switch.
  2. Select the temperature of the airflow with the cool-shot switch.
  3. Select the intensity of the airflow with the power switch, and then dry your hair.
  4. Set the power switch to position “0”, and then remove the plug from the household outlet.

Set nozzle

  • If you want to achieve a hairstyle, please attach the set nozzle to the hair dryer as it helps to concentrate the flow onto a specific area of the hair. This will give you more control for easy styling and blow-drying of hair.

Diffuser EH-NE72 only
For creating full-bodied hair with lots of volume and styling,
attach the diffuser to the hair dryer.

  • Select “2”-position when using the diffuser. You may feel
heat on your face or scalp when “3”-Turbo air is selected.

  • For people who want (hair with) volume on top: Apply the
diffuser to your scalp at the top of your head, and move in a
    circular motion.

  • For people who want volume on their sides: Start from above your ear and move the diffuser slowly along your scalp toward the top of your head. Repeat 2 to 3 times.

  • Drying wavy hair: Place the wavy portion of your hair on the diffuser and dry from the bottom while pushing upward. (Ion generation method: High-voltage discharge)
Its diameter is smaller than 1/1000 of steam, and it cannot be seen with the naked eye.
Ions are particles that combine negatively charged oxygen and moisture in the air.
In general, hair is easily positively charged. By exposing hair to the negatively charged ions, the hair’s static electricity can be neutralized and thus its smoothness can be enhanced.

Notes

  • You may notice a characteristic odor when using this hair dryer. This is not harmful to the human body.
  • The effects of ion might not be felt by the following people. People with crimpy hair, strong curly hair, very smooth hair, short hair, or who have had a hair straightening perm in the last three or four months.

Shine boost design

This hair dryer simultaneously blows cool air on the outer side of the hot air when the cool-shot switch is selected to the hot airflow.
By moving the hair dryer when using, hot and cool air alternately hit your hair, making it easier to style and bring out its shine.

Maintenance of the hair dryer

Make sure to turn OFF the power switch and disconnect the plug from the household outlet. (Except when performing maintenance on the air outlet)

Maintaining the hair dryer

Clean the main body when the hair dryer gets dirty.
Clean the housing only with a soft cloth slightly dampened with tap water or soapy tap water.

Notes

  • Do not use alcohol, polish remover, or detergent (liquid hand soap, etc.).
    • Doing so may cause malfunction, cracking/discoloration of parts, etc.
  • Leaving the hair dryer with hair products or makeup still adhered to the handle or body may degrade the plastic, causing discoloration or cracking, and malfunction.
Maintaining the ion outlet

Clean the ion outlet about once every 6 months.

  • Use commercially available cotton swabs. (We recommend the thin cotton swabs made for use with babies.)
  • This maintenance allows the hair dryer to sustain the generated level of ion over a long period.
  • Softly insert the cotton swab until it stops (approximately 6 mm), and turn it softly for 2 or 3 times.

Maintaining the air outlet and the cool air outlet

Clean the air outlets once a month or over.

  • The hair dryer should be plugged into the household outlet only in case of maintenance for the air outlets.
  • Use a commercially available toothbrush.
  • Set the cool-shot switch to “Cool” and blow away the dust, hair etc. blocking the mesh as you scrub with the toothbrush.
  • During maintenance, do not block the air inlet with your hands, etc.
  • Be careful when using the hair dryer for the first time after maintenance, since it may blow out dust, etc.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible cause Action

It switches frequently to cool air while using in “Hot” mode, or sparks can be seen within the body. (These sparks are caused by the thermostat switch, the protective device, and are not dangerous.)| Lint has accumulated on the air inlet or air outlet. Hair or something is blocking the air inlet.| Remove accumulated lint. Do not block the air inlet.
The hot air repeatedly turns into cool air.| The connection to the household outlet is loose.| Use a household outlet that fits securely
The hot air is abnormally hot
The plug is abnormally hot.| Abnormality caused by a dirty electrode (needle portion)| Perform maintenance of the ion outlet.
Sparks are generated inside the ion outlet.
The ion outlet emits a noise ion outlet. (crackling noise).

If the problems still cannot be solved, contact the store where you purchased the unit or a service center authorized by Panasonic for repair.
