Product Overview

Complete Training First. Significant differences exist between each of the Axon Enterprise, Inc. (“Axon”) TASER Conducted Energy Weapon (“CEW”) models. Do not use or attempt to use any CEW model unless you have been trained and certified by a Certified TASER Instructor on that particular model. See www.axon.com, au.axon.com, uk.axon.com for the most current warnings.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Step 1:
    Place the Safety Switch in the SAFE Position
    NOTE: Before using your X26P CEW, confirm with your armorer or other qualified person that the X26P firmware has been updated.

  2. The ambidextrous safety can be operated from either side. Shift the safety switch to the down (SAFE) position.

  3. Step 2:
    Inspect and Install the Battery Pack

  4. Inspect the battery pack contacts to confirm that they are clean and
    free of damage. (Fig.1)

  5. Install the new battery pack and confirm that it is fully inserted into
    the X26P CEW. (Fig.2)

  * Apply sufficient force to ensure it is fully seated.  

When the battery pack seats properly, the battery release button should pop out from the recessed position with an audible click.

  1. Step 3:
    Load the TASER Cartridge
    (Before installing and using a cartridge, inspect the blast doors for cracks.)

  2. Point the CEW in a safe direction.

  3. Ensure that the safety switch is in the down (SAFE) position.

  4. Ensure that the protective shipping cover is removed from the TASER cartridge.

  5. Keeping your hand away from the front of the cartridge, place the cartridge (with the cartridge cover removed) into the front of the CEW until an audible click is heard.

  6. Verify that the cartridge is secure by pulling on the sides of the cartridge.

Assembly Instructions
View the arc from the top or side of the CEW. Do not point the CEW at your face or have it near your face. Do not look at the spark for an extended time.

  1. Step 4:
    Unload Cartridge

  2. Point the CEW away from your body and in a safe direction.

  3. Ensure that the safety switch is in the down (SAFE) position.

  4. Keeping your hand away from the front of the cartridge, depress the tabs on the sides of the cartridge and remove it.

  5. Step 5:
    Function Test
    (To perform a function test, follow these steps.)

  6. Point the CEW in a safe direction.

  7. Shift the safety switch to the down (SAFE) position.

  8. Remove the cartridge. A function test should never be conducted with a cartridge in the CEW.

  9. Ensure that your fingers and no other part of your body are in front of the X26P CEW.

  10. Hold the CEW away from you, at arm’s length.

  11. Shift the safety switch to the up (ARMED) position.

  12. Pull the trigger and visually confirm sparking across the electrodes.
    Allow the full 5-second cycle to run.

  13. Look at the CID display and confirm the following:

  * No critical or major fault icons display.
  * CHANGE BATTERY and LOW BATT are not displaying on the CID.
  * If any fault icons display, return the unit to your agency’s CEW  

technician for service.

9. Shift the safety switch to the down (SAFE) position.

Display Icons

The CID provides information about the CEW’s battery charge status, cycle progress, and other information. When you shift the safety switch to the up (ARMED) position, the CID will light up and display information.

  • each bar represents a 20% increment of the battery capacity

Display Icons “LO BATT” flashes on the CID when the safety switch is cycled to the up (ARMED) position and the battery capacity is at < 40 percent (with TASER CAM HD recorders) or < 10 percent (with other battery packs).

Display Icons The “RECHARGE BATTERY” icon flashes if the battery pack has rechargeable batteries (e.g., with a TASER CAM HD recorder) and the battery percentage is at 00%. The CEW will not operate until the battery is recharged.
The CEW will count up from the number 1.
Display IconsThe “CHANGE BATTERY” icon flashes if the battery pack does not have a rechargeable battery (e.g., a PPM,
APPM, SPPM, TPPM, XPPM, or XAPPM battery pack) and the battery percentage is at 00%. The CEW will not operate until the battery has been replaced.

Display Icons The “DO NOT REMOVE BATTERY” icon displays if the SPPM battery pack is sending an Axon Signal transmission in safe mode or connected for updates.

Display IconsThe CEW will count up from
the number 1.
