  • Always check the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on the appliance rating plate (220V-240V).
  • Improper use of this appliance can cause injury.
  • Do not use the appliance if it is damaged or malfunctioning. Consult a qualified electrician for repairs. Regularly check the appliance for damages.

  • Never let the power cord become tangled.
  • Never touch the appliance, power cord or plug with wet hands.

  • The appliance must be placed on a flat, stable surface.
  • Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
  • This appliance is intended for household use only.
  • Only use this appliance for its intended purpose.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.
  • Children age 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided it is placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
  • To avoid the risk of injury, keep all packaging away from children.
  • Never immerse the appliance, or power cord or plug in water or any other liquid. If the appliance gets wet, shut off the power supply immediately.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors, in wet areas or near water.
  • Do not touch the hot surfaces of this appliance to avoid injury.
  • The appliance is not intended to be operated using an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
  • Only use the power cable suitable for this appliance.
  • Always pick up the appliance using the Handles on either side.
  • Always unplug the appliance when not in use and before cleaning.
  • Allow the appliance to cool before adding or removing components, cleaning, and storing.
  • Keep the appliance away from flammable or explosive objects.
  • WARNING: When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.
  • WARNING: Do not locate multiple portable socket outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance

COMPONENTS

BEFORE FIRST USE

Please note:
It is normal for the appliance to produce a slight odour when switched on for the first time. Ensure there is plenty of ventilation.

  • Make sure the appliance is clean before each use (see Cleaning).

  • Place on a flat, stable surface. Ensure at least 10 cm of space around the appliance.
    Tip: Put a heat-resistant material beneath the appliance to avoid damaging the surface.

  • Plug the appliance into a suitable wall outlet (see Safety Instructions).

USING THE APPLIANCE

Please note:
There are two methods of cooking with this appliance: directly onto the Cooking hob or using woks (not included). See Recipes for ideas.

  • Press the Power Button so the Y’ is pointing down.

  • Pour a little oil onto each Cooking Hob or into a wok if using them.

  • Preheat the appliance for approx. 10 minutes on the highest temperature, then reduce it.

  • Add chosen food to the Cooking Hobs or woks, turning regularly to ensure even cooking.
    Tip: Cutting food into smaller pieces will help it to cook faster.

  • After using the appliance, turn it off and unplug it from the wall outlet.

  • Once the appliance has cooled down, wipe off any stray bits of food (see Cleaning).

General tips:

  • Do not use metal utensils on the Cooking Hobs, as these will damage the non-stick coating. Use plastic or wooden utensils only.
  • For frozen foods, defrost them beforehand to avoid damaging the Cooking Hobs.

CLEANING

Please note:
Do not use abrasive sponges, ammonia, or strong household detergents when cleaning. Regular cleaning will help prolong the life of this appliance.

  • Make sure you clean the appliance before using it for the first time.
  • After each use, unplug the appliance and wait for it to cool down.
  • Then use a paper towel or soft cloth to clean the insides and edges of the appliance.
  • Never clean by immersing the appliance in water or any other liquid.

RECIPES

There are two methods of cooking with this appliance: directly onto the Cooking Hobs or using a wok (not included). Here are some suggestions when cooking directly:

AMERICAN PANCAKES

Ingredients:

  • 135 g plain flour
  • 2 tsp granulated or caster sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 130 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for frying

Method:

  1. Add the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt to a mixing bowl. Sift the flour for the best results. In a separate bowl, add the milk, butter and egg, and then whisk. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients. Then whisk until you have a smooth batter.
  2. Prepare your appliance (see Using the Appliance) and then follow the cooking instructions. Use the Ladle to pour the mixture onto the Cooking Hobs. Cook for 1-2 minutes on either side. Repeat until all the batter is used up.

CHEESY HERB-INFUSED PANCAKES

Ingredients:

  • 1 large egg
  • 250 ml semi-skimmed milk (alternative: soy or almond milk)
  • 200 g plain flour
  • ½2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 5 g rock or sea salt
  • 5 g black pepper
  • 100 g grated cheddar (substitute with different cheese if preferred)
  • 40 g onions (finely chopped)
  • 3 g fresh thyme (chopped, or ground)
  • 5 g garlic (minced)
  • Oil for greasing
  • Additional black pepper and sea salt (to taste)

Method:

  1. Whisk the egg in a large bowl before adding the milk, salt and pepper. Sift in the flour and bicarbonate of soda. Once the mixture is combined, add the cheese, onions, garlic and thyme. Then whisk until you have a smooth batter (approx. 5 minutes).
  2. For best results, cover the bowl in cling film and leave it in the fridge overnight to thicken. Alternatively, leave for 30 minutes.
  3. Prepare your appliance (see Using the Appliance) and then follow the cooking instructions. Cook the pancakes for approx. 10 minutes or until golden brown. Flip them halfway through cooking. Repeat until all the batter is used up.
  4. (Optional) Serve with eggs and cherry tomatoes for a healthy meal.

HEALTHY PROTEIN PANCAKES

Ingredients:

  1. 1 banana
  2. 1 large egg
  3. 1 scoop of protein powder (any flavour)
  4. 30 ml semi-skimmed milk (alternative: soy or almond milk)
  5. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  6. Oil for greasing

Method:

  1. Use a fork to mash the banana in a mixing bowl. Then add the egg, milk, vanilla extract, and protein powder. Whisk until you have a smooth batter.
  2. Prepare your appliance (see Using the Appliance) and then follow the cooking instructions. Cook the pancakes for approx. 10 minutes or until golden brown. Flip them halfway through cooking. Repeat until all the batter is used up.
  3. (Optional) Serve with cinnamon, syrup, and your preferred fruit.

COOKING WITH A WOK
If using a wok with this appliance (not included), here are some suggestions: burgers, fried eggs, bacon, chicken breasts, sausages.
