Basic Operation
Please note all (Ref.) refer to the Controls and Functions mapping guide on pages 1,2 and 3.
Starting up your radio
Plug the adaptor connector into the back of the system labelled ‘DC in’ and
turn the power on from the mains (Ref.4). Alternatively, insert 4 x AA
batteries rather than using the above process for mains power. (Ref.20)
Ensure the antenna (Ref.6) is extended as far as possible so that you can
rotate it. This will enable you to get the best signal you can.
Switch the button on the rear of the unit to “on” (Ref.3) and the screen will
show “Welcome to Digital Radio”.
From the “Welcome to Digital Radio” screen, click the ‘Standby’ button (Ref.7)
to switch your radio on. When DAB mode is activated for the first time, a scan
will automatically commence, or will play the last station before the unit was
turned off.
Select ‘Mode’ (Ref.10) to switch between DAB and FM.
Standby
To change your radio back to standby, press ‘Standby’ (Ref.7). To turn your
radio off completely, switch the “on/off” button at the back of the unit to
‘Off’ (Ref.3) and switch off at the mains.
DAB/DAB+ Mode
Setting up DAB mode
From the ‘Welcome to Digital Radio’ screen, click the ‘Standby’ (Ref.7) button
and your radio will automatically scan for DAB stations.
Once the scan is complete, all digital stations found will be stored on your
radio. The first alphabetical radio station will begin to play on DAB mode
once the scan is complete.
To select a different station, use the ‘<<’ (Ref.17) or ‘>>’ (Ref.18) buttons
to find your desired station. Select the station by clicking the ‘Enter’
(Ref.19) button.
When in DAB mode, your radio will automatically save all stations with a
strong signal. DAB mode will also synchronise with the time and date of the
station and will set the time and date on your unit.
Storing DAB Stations
You can store up to 10 DAB radio stations.
To store a station that you are currently playing:
Press and hold the “Preset” (Ref.12) button, the display will show “Preset
Store<x:(Empty)>”
Press the ‘<< ‘ or ‘>>’ button (Ref. 17/18) to change the “<1” to the number
you want to store the station as. Then press “Enter” (Ref.19) button to save.
The display will then show “Preset x stored”.
Note: If there is an existing DAB station stored under a preset, it will
be over written when you store the new station.
Recalling a DAB stored station
Press the “Preset” (Ref.12) button.
Press the ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ button (Ref. 17/18) to scroll through your preset
stations. You can store up to 10. Then press the “Enter”
(Ref.19) button to select your choice.
DAB Station Information
When listening to a DAB station, press the ‘Menu/Info’ (Ref.16) repeatedly to
scroll through and display different program information:
Signal Strength: Displays a signal bar with the strength of the current
station.
Signal Error: Provides details of the signal error rate.
Channel and Frequency: Displays the station’s transmission channel number
and frequency.
PTY (Program Type): Shows the type and description of the program
provided by the DAB station.
Time and Date: Displays the time and date information provided by the
broadcaster.
Bit Rate: The date rate which the signal is being transmitted.
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS): Displays scrolling text information supplied
by the broadcaster.
FM Radio
FM Scan
Press the “Mode” (Ref.10) button to switch to FM radio. The first time you do
this, the FM frequency “87.5MHz” will be displayed on the screen.
Fully extend the antenna.
To auto scan, press the “Scan” (Ref.11) button and then release. This will
then start scanning up the frequency band and play the first station it finds
with good signal.
How to tune a specific frequency manually
To listen to a specific frequency press and hold the ‘>>’ button (Ref.18) to
search up the bandwidth quickly and the ‘<<’ button (Ref.17) to search down
quickly. It will stop searching when the button is released.
To search slowly, press ‘>>’ or ‘<<’ multiple times to scroll through.
Stereo and Mono
When on FM mode, press the ‘Enter’ button (Ref.19) to switch between Stereo
and Mono mode.
Storing FM Stations
You can store up to 10 FM radio stations.
To store a station that you are currently playing:
Press and hold the “Preset” (Ref.12) button, the display will show “Preset
Store<x:(Empty)>”
Press the ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ button to change the “<1” to the number you want to
store the station as. Then press “Enter” (Ref.19) button to save. The display
will then show “Preset x stored”.
Note: If there is an existing FM station stored under a preset, it will
be over written when you store the new station.

Press the “Preset” (Ref.12) button.
Press the ‘<< ‘ or ‘>>’ button to scroll through your preset stations. You can
store up to 10. Then press the “Enter” (Ref.19) button to select your choice.
FM Station Information
When listening to a FM station, press the ‘Menu/Info’ (Ref.16) repeatedly to
scroll through and display different program information:
Radio Text: Displays scrolling test information supplied by the
broadcaster.
PTY (Program Type): Shows the type and description of the program
provided by the DAB station.
Signal Strength: Displays a signal bar with the strength of the current
station.
Time and Date: Displays the time and date information provided by the
broadcaster.
Channel and Frequency: Displays the station’s frequency.
Audio Type: Will display the audio type of the station you are listening
to. This will be Mono or Stereo.
Clock and Date Setting
Manually Setting the Time
Ensure the unit is in working mode (i.e. listening to DAB/FM Radio). Press and
hold the Menu/Info button (Ref.16) for 1-2 seconds to open the ‘Set Menu’
option.
Use the ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ (Ref. 17/18) buttons to choose your option and select
Time/Date by pressing ‘Enter’ (Ref.19).
The hour digit will now flash. Press ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ to scroll through to the
correct hour. Press ‘Enter’ to confirm.
Once this is confirmed, you will be able to press ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ to select the
minutes. Press ‘Enter’ to confirm.
Manually Setting the Date
After setting the time (per instructions above) the year will now flash. Press
‘<<’ or ‘>>’ (Ref. 17/18) to scroll through to the correct year. Press ‘Enter’
to confirm (Ref.19).
Once this is confirmed, you will be directed to the month. To change the
month, use the ‘<<’ and ‘>>’ buttons (Ref. 17/18). Press ‘Enter’ to confirm
(Ref.19)
Once this is confirmed, you will be able to press ‘<<’ or ‘>>’(Ref. 17/18) to
select the minutes. Press ‘Enter’ to confirm (Ref.19).
Dual Alarm
Alarm Setting
Press the ‘Alarm’ (Ref.13) button once for Alarm1 or twice for Alarm2. Press
the ‘Enter’ (Ref.19) button to confirm.
To turn the alarm on or off, press ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ button (Ref. 17/18), so that
“ON” is flashing and press the ‘Enter’ button to confirm.
The hour digits for the alarm will flash, press ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ button to change
the hour and press the ‘Enter’ button to confirm.
From this you will then be able to change the minutes, volume, desired alarm
sound e.g alarm, DAB or FM following by selecting ‘Enter’. Note: If setting
DAB or FM as your alarm sound, the radio will play the station that you last
listened to in that setting as your alarm sound.
The last option for setting your alarm is to select ‘Alarm Mode’ and choose
between having your alarm 1/2 to sound Once, Daily, Weekends or Weekdays only.
Confirm your selection by pressing the ‘Enter’ button.
To set the Alarm 2, follow the Alarm 1 instructions but press the ‘Alarm’
button twice to go to the settings called ‘Alarm 2’.
Note: You can press the “Menu/Info” button (Ref.16) to get back to the
previous step when programming the alarm.
If the signal is very weak and you have set DAB or FM as your alarm, your radio will automatically switch to an alarm sound.
Alarm functions and Snooze
Cancel the Alarm
Press the ‘Alarm’ button (Ref.13) once for Alarm1 or twice for Alarm2. Press
the “Enter” (Ref.19) button to confirm.
To turn the Alarm off, press the ‘>>’ (Ref.18) button, so that “OFF” is
flashing and press the “Enter” button to confirm.
Turn off the alarm when sounding
Press any of the buttons except the ‘Snooze/Sleep’ button to turn off the
alarm when it is sounding.
Snooze Function
When the alarm sounds, press the ‘Snooze/Sleep’ button (Ref.14) to delay the
alarm for another 9 minutes and the radio will go into Standby mode.
To take the radio off of Snooze or to stop sounding the Snooze alarm, press
any of the buttons except the ‘Snooze/Sleep’ button.
Sleep Timer and USB Charging
Sleep Timer
This enables you to programme the radio to switch off at a specific time, up
to 120 minutes from activation.
Press and hold the “Snooze/Sleep” button (Ref.14), then display shows “Set
Sleep: OFF”
Choose from 120/90/60/45/30/15/5 minutes by pressing the ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ button
(Ref. 17/18) to scroll through.
When your choice is displayed, press “Enter” button (Ref.14) to confirm. The
system will automatically start the timer.
To turn the sleep timer off, follow the above instructions and choose “OFF”
from the choices.
Once the timer has been set, the minutes will countdown on the display screen.
For example, if set to turn off in 5 minutes, “S5” will flash, counting down
to “S0” when the radio will go into standby mode.
USB – Charging your device
The USB port (Ref.2) has an output 5V/1A. When connected via a USB lead into
the USB port a phone or tablet can be charged. You can not play your music via
the USB connection: it is used for charging a phone or tablet.
Additional Functions
When the radio is turned on, press and hold the Menu/Info (Ref.16) button.
This will open ‘Set Menu’ and display these settings:
System Version:
Press the ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ button (Ref.17/18) to select your desired sub-option of
‘System Version. ’ Press the “Enter” button (Ref.19) to check the system
version information.
Factory Reset:
Press the ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ button (Ref.17/18) to select your desired sub-option of
‘Factory Reset’.
Press the “Enter” button (Ref.19) and the display will show “Factory reset?”.
Press the ‘<<’ or ‘>>’ button to select “Yes” or “No”. Follow this by pressing
the “Enter” button to confirm your desired select.
Display Brightness:
Press the ‘dimmer’ button (Ref.15) to adjust the screen brightness. Press
multiple times to view the 4 different levels of brightness.
Please note : If the radio is in standby mode and on the lowest dimmer
setting, you can press any button except the dimmer buttons to light up the
screen for 20 seconds. To take off the dimmer function, simply click the
dimmer button to adjust.

Power Supply and Batteries
The unit is powered and charged by UK Standard Plug DC 5v and is also portable
when powered by 4 x AA batteries (not supplied). These can be inserted into
the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit.
Warranty
All products come with a standard 12 month warranty. All items must be registered on www.majorityradios.co.uk for the warranty to be valid. Once on the web page, use the menu to find “register your product”. You will also be given the chance to extend your warranty for an additional 24 months, free of charge.

The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects
filled with liquid, such as vases, shall be places on the apparatus.
Main plug is used to disconnect device and it should remain readily operable
during intended use. In order to disconnect the apparatus from the main mains
completely, the mains plug should be disconnected from the main socket outlet
completely.
Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the
like.

You should now recycle your waste electrical goods and in doing so help the
