BEFORE FIRST USE
All parts that come in touch with food are to be thoroughly cleaned before
being used for the first time (see section on Cleaning).
Ensure that the rotary switch 7 is in the position 0 and plug it into the
power socket.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Assemble the blender (8) or grinder (9) and ensure that the rotary switch (7) is turned to 0. Remove the lid (2) or the grinding mill cover (3).
- BLENDER: Place the ingredients into the glass blending jug 5 and attach the lid 2 by pressing down firmly. Pour the liquids through the opening in the lid 2 then insert the measuring cup 1 and turn it anti-clockwise until it is locked.
- For best results do not fill the glass blending jug (5) above the 1L marking, especially if using liquid ingredients.
- GRINDING MILL: Place the ingredients into the grinding mill (4). Attach the grinding mill cover (3) and turn it counter-clockwise until it locks.
- Turn the rotary switch (7) to desired speed to switch the appliance on.
SPEED SETTINGS
- LOW SPEED – for light blending of liquid ingredients
- HIGH SPEED – for heavy blending with solid ingredients and thicker liquids.
PULSE SHORT BURSTS OF VERY HIGH SPEED – for rough blending of solid ingredients and thicker liquids, ice crushing, grinding and short, powerful pulse movements. The dial does not permanently engage in the PULSE setting; you must hold the dial in position or turn repeatedly to the PULSE setting.
After using the blender (8) or the grinder (9), always turn the rotary switch (7) back to the 0 setting and disconnect the mains cable from the power socket. To remove the glassblending jug )5) just lift it straight up.
USEFUL TIPS
- To achieve the best results when pureeing solid ingredients, place small portions into the glass blending jug 5 one by one instead of placing a large quantity all at once. Do not overload.
- When processing solid ingredients, cut them into small pieces (2-3cm) first.
- When mixing solid ingredients start off first with a small amount of liquid. Gradually add more of the liquid through the opening in the lid 2.
- If blending warm liquids or ingredients always ensure that they are cooled down before blending. Do not fill the glass blending jug 5over 1L / 4 cups mark.
- Always stabilise the glass blending jug 5 or grinding mill 4 by placing your hand on top of the lid 2 or grinding mill cover 3when operating the appliance.
- For stirring solids or very thick liquid ingredients we recommend that you use the blender 8 in PULSE mode to prevent the blades from becoming stuck.
CLEANING
Never immerse the motor unit in water.
Wipe the motor unit 6 clean with a damp cloth and dry immediately with a soft
cloth to avoid scratches and water marks on the surface.
LIGHT CLEANING
- BLENDER: empty the glass blending jug (5) and fill it half way with tepid water and a mild detergent. Place the glass blending jug (5) on the motor unit (6) and turn the rotary switch (7) several times into the PULSE setting, holding for a few seconds each time. Empty the glass blending jug (5) and rinse until clean, then dry.
- GRINDING MILL: to clean the grinding mill (4) wipe inside it with a damp cloth or sponge, using a tepid water with some washing up liquid, if necessary. Remove any stuck food remains with a small dish washing brush. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.
THOROUGH CLEANING
Be careful when handling the blade inside the jug. The blades are very sharp.
- BLENDER: Ensure that the grinding mill (4) or blending jug (5) is completely empty before you remove the stuck food around the blades using a small dishwashing brush.
- All parts except the motor unit (6) can be washed by hand or in a dishwasher. Do not use harsh scourers and aggressive or abrasive detergents.
