- This appliance is intended for household use only.
- Ensure that the appliance is always placed on a firm and flat surface, away from any edges of the worktop. Do not place the appliance onto a metal tray or metal surface whilst in use. Do not place the appliance on, or near, a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
- Keep the appliance and mains cable away from the edges of worktops and out of reach of children. Route the mains cable so it does not overhang, and cannot be tripped over or caught.
- Do not let the mains cable run across an open space, such as between a low power socket and a table, or across any hot area, such as a cooker. Heat may damage the mains cable.
- The connections on both sides of the mains cable (the appliance and the power socket) should never be strained. If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by a qualified person or service to avoid any hazards.
- This appliance must not be operated by an external timer or a remote control system.
- The surfaces of the toaster must always be kept dry. Before drying, disconnect the power supply; ensure that the toaster is completely dry before you reconnect it to the power supply.
- To remove the bread from the toaster, ensure that the toaster has stopped heating then push the loading lever 1 up and hold it in place to remove the bread. We recommend using tongs as the bread will be very hot.
- Do not move the toaster when it is switched on.
- Do not switch the toaster on unless it contains at least one slice of bread.
- Always close the crumb tray 6 before you switch the toaster on.
- Avoid contact with the toaster surfaces as they will become very hot.
- The loading lever 1 should never be forced up, as this may cause damage to the automated release mechanism. When the selected toasting cycle is finished, the lever 1 will release automatically.
- Unplug the toaster from the power socket and let it cool down completely before cleaning or removing the crumb tray 6. Make sure that the toaster has cooled down completely before cleaning and storing away. Keep the toaster, mains cable, and plug away from sources of heat. Store in a dry place.
- Do not use the toaster for any purpose other than toasting bread.
- Read all operating instructions before using the appliance.
OPERATING YOUR TOASTER
Never leave the toaster unsupervised while it is heating.
- To select a preferred toasting level, turn the browning control 5 clockwise from the lowest level 1 to the darkest level 7. If you are not sure, start with a lower level.
- Insert one slice of bread per slot and lower loading levers 1 until it clicks into place. The toaster will begin to heat.
- When toasting is completed the toaster will switch off and the bread will be released automatically.
- Allow the toaster to cool down completely after use and before cleaning and storing.
- To use the special functions, press the relevant button after lowering the loading lever 1. The corresponding LED signals its activation:
- 2 REHEAT: to warm up already toasted bread.
- 3 DEFROST: to defrost and toast frozen bread.
- 4 CANCEL: to stop the toasting procedure manually.
CLEANING
Before cleaning, always check that the toaster is switched off and has
completely cooled down.
Clean the crumb trays 6 regularly as the dry crumbs may burn.
- Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the outside of the toaster unit. Then dry with a soft cloth to avoid scratches on the surface.
- Pull the crumb tray 6 out, remove any crumbs, wipe with a damp cloth, dry and push it back in. The crumb tray 6 can be washed with warm water and mild detergent or in dish washing machine. Ensure that the crumb tray 6 is completely dry and closed before operating the toaster.
