General power tool Safety Warnings

WARNING

Work area Safety

__Personal Safety

Battery tool use and care

  1. Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer.

  2. use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. create a risk of injury and fire.

  3. When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like
    paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

  4. under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. if contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. if liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

Service
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.

Glue Gun Safety Warnings

  1. When working with plastics, varnish, or similar materials, gases develop that are easily flammable and can lead to explosions. Be prepared for flames to develop and keep
    suitable fire extinguishing means at hand.

  2. The Nozzle becomes very hot. Do not lay the Glue Gun on flammable surfaces when operating the Gun or immediately after turning the Gun off. Always set the Glue Gun on a flat, level surface so that the Nozzle tip is directed upwards and away from the supporting surface.

  3. Do not use the Glue Gun near flammable materials.

  4. Do not touch the tube of the heating element or the Nozzle when they are hot. They will be hot enough to cause burns during use and for some time afterward.

  5. Do not use the Glue Gun on glass.

  6. Do not heat up materials that can be damaged by high temperatures.

  7. Maintain labels and nameplates on the tool.
    These carry important safety information.
    If unreadable or missing, contact
    Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.

  8. Avoid unintentional starting. Prepare to begin work before turning on the tool.

  9. Do not leave the tool unattended when the Battery Pack is connected. Turn off the tool, and remove the Battery Pack before leaving.

  10. The battery Charger gets hot during use. The Charger’s heat can build up to unsafe levels and create a fire hazard if it does not receive adequate ventilation, due to an electrical fault, or if it is used in a hot environment.
    Do not place the Charger on a flammable surface. Do not obstruct any vents on the
    Charger. especially avoid placing the charger on carpets and rugs; they are not
    only flammable, but they also obstruct vents under the charger.
    Place the Charger on a stable, solid, nonflammable surface (such as a stable metal workbench or concrete floor) at least
    1 foot away from all flammable objects, such as drapes or walls. Keep a fire extinguisher and a smoke detector in the area.
    Frequently monitor the Charger and
    Battery Pack while charging.

  11. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children.

  12. People with pacemakers should consult their physician(s) before use.
    Electromagnetic fields in close proximity to the heart pacemakers could cause pacemaker interference or pacemaker failure.

  13. The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors that cannot be built into this product but must be supplied by the operator.

Lithium Battery Safety Warnings

  LITHIUM BATTERIES STORE A LARGE AMOUNT OF ENERGY AND WILL VENT FIRE OR EXPLODE IF MISTREATED

  1. DO NOT DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING TO THE BATTERY PACK:
    a. Open,
    b. Drop,
    c. Short-circuit,
    d. puncture,
    e. incinerate, or
    f. expose to temperatures greater than 140°F.

  2. Keep the battery pack dry.

  3. Charge Battery Pack only according to its Charger’s instructions.

  4. Inspect Battery Pack before every use; do not use or charge if damaged.

Grounding

TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK AND DEATH FROM INCORRECT GROUNDING:
check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the power cord plug provided with the charger.
Do not use the charger if the power cord or plug is damaged. if damaged, have it repaired by a service facility before use. if the plug will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet
installed by a qualified electrician. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plugin anyway.

Operating instructions

Charging Battery pack
Charge battery before using this tool. Follow instructions included with battery charger ( sold separately).

Workpiece and Work area Set up

  1. Designate a work area that is clean and well lit. The work area must not allow access by children or pets to prevent distraction and injury.
  2. Secure loose workpieces using a vise or clamps (not included) to prevent movement while working.
  3. There must not be objects, such as utility lines, nearby that will present a hazard while working.
  4. Remove all flammable and heat-sensitive materials from the work area.
  5. Plan an insulated, non-flammable surface for the gun to cool down on after use.
  6. Keep multiple class ABC fire extinguishers readily accessible while working and while workpiece cools.

General Operating instructions

  1. Insert a fully charged Battery Pack into the base of the Glue Gun, making sure it clicks into place securely.
    Warning! to prevent serious injury or property damage, do not leave the Glue Gun unattended while resting on surfaces or objects.
    CAUTION! Do not block air Vents when Glue Gun is in use, it could cause the tool to overheat.

  2. Turn on Glue Gun by pushing Power Switch and the LED should illuminate red. Allow about two minutes for the Glue Gun to heat.BAUER 57997 20V Cordless Full Sized Glue Gun - Power Switch **Caution!** to prevent injury or property damage: Do not touch or drop anything onto the nozzle.

  3.  When the LED turns green the Glue Gun has heated to operating temperature.

  4. Load Glue Stick into the back of the Glue Gun.

  5. The Work Light may be illuminated by pressing and holding the Power Switch.

  6. Position the Nozzle over the workpiece and squeeze the Trigger to push the glue stick forward and hot glue will expel from the Nozzle.
    Warning! to prevent serious injury, including burns: Do not allow the hot glue to touch the skin.

  7. Apply glue in small amounts and press the glued material together until the hot glue has cooled.

  8. When the glue stick cannot move forward, insert a new glue stick behind it. Use the glue stick until it is completely used up.

  9. When finished with the Glue Gun, remove the glue stick and any remaining glue inside the Glue Gun by pressing the Trigger until all melted glue is expelled onto a piece
    of foil or another heat-resistant surface.
    Once the glue has cooled, discard it.

  10. To prevent accidents, turn off the Glue Gun by pressing the Power Switch. The
    Work Light and LED should turn off.
    Remove the Battery Pack after use.
    Allow the Glue Gun to cool down on an insulated, non-flammable surface.
    CAUTION! after use, do not touch the nozzle until it has had time to cool.
    CAUTION! Do not leave the work area until Glue Gun has cooled. Be alert for indications of concealed fire.

  11. Allow time for the Glue Gun to cool then clean and store the Glue Gun indoors out of children’s reach.

Maintenance and Servicing

TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL OPERATION: remove Battery pack before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM TOOL FAILURE:
Do not use damaged equipment. if abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.

Cleaning, Maintenance, and Lubrication

  1. BEFORE EACH USE , inspect the general condition of the tool. Check for:
    loose hardware,
    misalignment or binding of moving parts,
    cracked or broken parts,
    blocked Air Vents,
    damaged electrical wiring, and
    any other condition that may affect its safe operation.

  2. aFter uSe, wipe external surfaces of the tool with a clean cloth.

  3. Li-Ion BATTERY MUST BE RECYCLED OR DISPOSED OF PROPERLY. Do not short, incinerate, or open battery.
