Important functional notes

  1. The time signal is automatically synchronized daily at 2:00 (AM), 8:00 (AM), 14:00 (2:00 PM) and 20:00 (8:00 PM).
  2. Never position the device in the immediate surroundings of potential interference sources, such as televisions, computers, etc.
  3. Avoid positioning close to metallic objects.
  4. In confined spaces such as airports, basements, high-rise buildings or production halls, flawless functionality is not guaranteed.

Initial operation

1. Remove the battery compartment cover of the weather station and the outdoor sensor.
2. Insert new AA batteries into the battery compartments of the weather station and the outdoor sensor. Pay attention to the correct polar orientation of the batteries as shown in the compartments when inserting.
NOTE : Replace the batteries in the weather station if the display of the weather station becomes faint.
If the symbol appears in the display, the charge capacity of the batteries in the outdoor sensor is depleted. Thus, replace the batteries in the outdoor sensor. This device cannot be operated simultaneously with batteries and a power adapter. Simultaneous use will lead to irreparable damage to the device, the manufacturer assumes no liability for this! The manufacturer also assumes no liability for damage due to mechanical stress caused by the use of an inappropriate power supply!
3. Only fit the battery cover of the weather station back on to begin with.
4. After inserting the batteries, light up all display elements.
5. First, press the RESET button of the weather station (Fig. 1, 9) and then the RESET button of the outdoor sensor (Fig. 2/3, 13/18).
6. The radio signal of the outdoor sensor is automatically transmitted within 8 seconds for the channel test.
7. After completion of the channel test (it lasts about 5 minutes), the weather station now automatically receives the radio signal of the outdoor sensor and displays the current data.
8. By means of radio transmission, the current time and date are automatically synced using the time signals for Germany (DCF77) or the UK (MSF).
9. Now fit the battery cover of the outdoor sensor back on.
10. In order to change the clock display to the 12-hour format or 24-hour format, please read the „Manually setting the time and date“ section.

Pay attention: The weather station can receive the signals from up to 3 outdoor sensors and display the data. Position the weather station and outdoor sensor within the maximum permitted reception range, which amounts to about 50 meters under normal conditions. The transmission of the radio signal can be interrupted in some cases. If necessary, remove the batteries from the weather station and outdoor sensor and perform the above mentioned steps once again.

Settings and displays
Automatic setting of the time and date.

Display of the signal strength
The signal strength indication is organized into 4 levels. If the symbol flashes, the time signal is received. The strength of the received signal can be subdivided into 4 categories:

  • No signal
  • Weak signal
  • Adequate signal
  • Good signal

If the time signal is received successfully, the time synchronization symbol appears permanently on the display . Otherwise, the symbol is no longer displayed.

Pay attention: By pressing the RCC button (Fig.1, 8) you can also start the synchronization of the time signal manually. This reception mode automatically turns off after 6-15 minutes. In this way, you can expect a much higher power consumption, which will shorten the life of the batteries.Automatic time setting (DST) The integrated clock is programmed so that it will automatically switch to summer or winter time. During the summer time, the DST information appears in the display. Manually setting the time If the station does not receive a time signal automatically, the time can be set manually. If a signal is received again, the set time is automatically synchronized.

  1. Press and hold down the DISPLAY SET (TIME SET) (Fig. 1, 5) button for about 2 seconds until the 12/24-hour format flashes.
  2. Press CH + (Fig. 1, 3) or MEM- (Fig. 1, 4) but tons to switch between 12 – or 24-hour modes.
  3. Press the DISPLAY SET button again to switch for inputting the hours.
  4. Press CH + (Fig. 1, 3) or MEM- (Fig. 1, 4) buttons, to set the desired value.
  5. Carry out the remaining settings as described above in the following order: for the time signals DCF (Germany) and MSF (UK): 12/24 Hr> hours> minutes> seconds> time difference in hours.
  6. Press the DISPLAY SET button again to save the settings and exit the setting mode.

Pay attention: If your current time deviates from the time, which the station automatically receives, you can adjust the time deviation or differing time zone.
For DCF/MSF: A time deviation of -23 to +23 hours can be set. After the time deviation is set, the station displays the received time taking into account the set time deviation.

Setting the alarm

1. Press the ALARM SET button (Fig. 1, 2) in the display mode to select the alarm mode. The selected alarm mode appears in the display above the alarm time.
2. Press and hold down the ALARM SET (Fig. 1, 2) button in the alarm mode for about 2 seconds until the hour display flashes.

2. If the snooze function is activated, a fourstage wake-up call takes place in a time period interval of 5 minutes. The duration of the alarm is approximately 120 seconds.
3. The snooze function can only be deactivated by pressing the ALARM SET button (Fig. 1, 2).

Weather forecast

(Not applicable to ClimaTemp SQ / Art. No. 7004400)

The integrated barometer registers the atmospheric air pressure. Based on these values, a forecast of the weather for the next 12- 24 hours will be created.

Pay attention: The accuracy of the weather forecast is about 70-75%. The weather forecast is always for the next 12-24 hours and does not necessarily take into account the current weather conditions.

Display of the channels

1. As standard, channel 1 appears on the display. Press the CH + button (Fig. 1, 3) in the display mode to switch between the individual channels.
2. Press and hold down the CH+ button for about 2 seconds to activate the automatic channel-change display.
3. Press the CH+ button once again to return to normal display mode.
Pay attention: With the automatic channelchange display, the display automatically switches between the three channels every 4 seconds.

Display of the current indoor and outdoor temperature

1. Slide the °C/°F switch (Fig. 1, 6) to position for the desired temperature unit (Celsius or Fahrenheit).
2. The internal temperature appears in the display on a permanent basis. The outside temperature of the connected outside sensors can be displayed separately or automatically (read more about this in the previous chapter).

Pay attention: If a channel is allocated to an external sensor, after a change of the channel on the sensor, the RESET button (Figure 2, 13/ Fig. 3, 18) must be pressed. If no signal is received for a channel, “—-” appears in the display. In the case of receiver interference, change the position of the weather station or the outdoor sensor. Ensure that both devices are located in the optimum operating range of about 50 meters to each other. If several attempts fail, remove the batteries from both devices and initiate the setup again. Try to establish in which position the weather station receives the best signal strength.

Display and clear the max/min temperature values

1. Press the MEM- button (Fig 1.4) in the display mode. This will cause the device to display the max/min values for the indoor and outdoor temperature, as well as the date/time settings, for around 5 seconds.
2. Press and hold down the MEM/- button for about 3 seconds, to clear the stored max/min temperature values.
Pay attention: When resetting the settings or removing the batteries, all the stored settings will be cleared!

Frost warning

1. If an outdoor temperature range of between -2 °C and +3 °C (28 ° F and 37 ° F) is reached, the symbol appears in the display and flashes permanently.
2. The symbol is no longer visible if the outside temperature range lies above the limit values.

Using the backlight
(Not applicable to ClimaTemp JC / Art. No. 7004404)
Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (Fig. 1a, 1), to activate the backlight, for about 5 seconds.

Set the view angle
(Only ClimaTemp JC / Art. No. 7004404)
