IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed. These instructions should be saved for future reference:

  • Read and familiarise yourself with all operating instructions before using this Vacuum Cleaner.
  • Before plugging your unit into the mains, visually check that the unit is intact and has not suffered any transit damage.
  • Check that the voltage indicated on the data plate corresponds with that of the local network before connecting the appliance to the mains power supply.
  • This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years when it is energised or cooling down.
  • Do not immerse the appliance or its cord in water or any other liquids
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended during use.
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended whilst connected to the mains supply.
  • Do not use this appliance outdoors.
  • It is imperative to unplug the power cord after the appliance has been used, before it is cleaned and whilst being repaired

  • Do not pull or carry the Vacuum Cleaner by the electrical cord, use the handle provided.
  • Ensure fingers and other objects are never placed in any part of the vacuum cleaner. Clothing or hair may become trapped if the vacuum is used improperly.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, jewellery, fingers and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
  • Keep all air vents clear and free of dust, lint, hair and anything else that may reduce airflow.
  • Avoid directing the appliance towards naked flames as the air discharged may extinguish gas fires or pilot lights and may disturb ashes in open fires.
  • Do not Vacuum water or any other liquids with this vacuum.
  • Do not Vacuum hot ashes or lit cigarettes, etc.
  • Never use the appliance without the filter in place.
  • Do not use the Vacuum without the Dust Compartment attached.
  • Do not vacuum any large or broken objects such as glass.
  • Do not vacuum anything that is burning or smoking such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.

Waste batteries should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice.

Before the first time you use your Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

Please read these operating instructions thoroughly and keep them in a safe place for future reference.
Remove all packing materials and discard responsibly.

Charging the internal Battery

Before use, please ensure that the internal rechargeable battery is fully charged as follows:

  1. Insert the Small Power Plug (18) of the Mains Charger (19) into the Charging Socket (11).
  2. Plug the Mains Charger (19) into the nearest mains socket.
  3. The Battery Indicator (30) will flash green and the Battery Charge Display (26) will count up to 100% as the internal battery charges.
  4. Once the battery is fully charged (after approximately 5 hours), the Battery Charge Display (26) will display 100 (arrowed below) showing that the internal battery is 100% fully charged and the Mains Charger (19) can now be removed.

NB Left: The internal battery will need recharging when the Battery Indicator (30) flashes red and the Battery Charge Display (26) reads a low value (less than 10%). Follow the above procedure (1 ­ 4) to recharge the internal battery.

Attaching the Accessories

CAUTION Ensure that the vacuum cleaner is not connected to the mains charger before use.

The Floor Attachment
  1. Push the Aluminium Flexi Tube (21) onto the Air Intake (13) until it clicks home as shown below:

  2. Push the Motorised Floor Tool (16) onto the other end of the Aluminium Flexi Tube (21) again until it clicks home.

Selecting the Correct Brush for the Motorised Floor Tool (16)
  1. Before using the Motorised Floor Tool (16), first choose the appropriate brush type for the floor type being cleaned:

  2. To change the brush attachment, slide the catch (a) to the left and lift up the brush bearing retaining clip (b) on the underside of the Motorised Floor Tool (16) as shown left.
    NB the Carpet Brush (22) is currently fitted in this example.
    Lift out the Carpet Brush (22) and the brush bearing (c). Remove the brush bearing from the Carpet Brush (22).

  3. Place the brush bearing (c.) onto the end of the Hard Floor Brush (23) as shown above left. Once in place, insert the Hard Floor Brush (23) into the Motorised Floor Tool (16) as shown above right.

  4. Finally, hook the brush bearing retaining clip at the front edge (d) and push down into until it clicks into place (e) as shown left.
    The vacuum is now ready to clean hard floors.

Using Your Cyclone Digi-Flex Vacuum Cleaner

  1. Right: Grasp the vacuum cleaner firmly by 1 the Handle (9) and press the On/off Trigger Switch (8) to power up the cleaner.

  2. Left : During use, refer to the Information Screen (25), press the Eco Speed (33) to\ lower the vacuum speed/suction or High Speed (28) to increase speed/suction. The Speed/Suction Indicator (34) will move to show the current speed/suction level (low to high) selected.
    Alternatively press the ‘AUTO’ mode so that the vacuum will automatically vary the speed/suction power for the condition

  3. Right: Place your foot gently on the Motorised Floor Tool (16) and pull the cleaner back by the Handle (9) and start vacuum cleaning.
    Press the On/off Trigger Switch (8) again at the end of cleaning to switch the cleaner off. Far Right: Press the catch on the Flexi joint (arrowed right) to release the Aluminium Flexi Tube (21) so that the tube can ‘flex’ in order to clean under furniture and other close to the ground objects.

  4. Left: If the Aluminium Flexi Tube (21) is not required, the Motorised Floor Tool (16) can be attached directly to the vacuum as shown left for cleaning hard to get at areas such as stairs, car seats, etc.

Using the Crevice & Upholstery Tool (17)
  1. Attach the Crevice Tool & Upholstery Tool (17) onto the Aluminium Flexi Tube (21) to clean carpet edges and hard to get at areas:
    Left: Slide the brush back on the tool to reveal the crevice tool to clean carpet edges, etc. Alternatively use the Long Reach Crevice Tool (24).

    Right: Pull the brush down on the tool to clean curtains, upholstery, etc.

  2. If the Aluminium Flexi Tube (21) is not required, attach the Crevice Tool & Upholstery Tool (17) directly to the cleaner, this useful for cleaning soft furnishings, car seats, stairs, etc.:

Using the Floor Polishing Tool (36)

1. Before using the Floor  Polishing Tool (36), turn the unit upside down and attach the two Polishing Pads (37) by pressing them onto the rotating plates as shown below:

  1. Left: Attach the Polishing Pads (37) by pushing the pads against the Velcro pads on the underside of the polisher.

  2. Right: Apply polish (not supplied) to the floor surface.
    WARNING do not use the polishing tool without polish otherwise damage may occur to the appliance and/or the floor surface.

  3. Left: Place your foot gently on the Floor Polishing Tool (36) and pull the cleaner back by the Handle (9).
    Press the On/off Trigger Switch (8) to start the polishing action, move the polisher gently along the floor as shown left. Press the switch again at the end of polishing to switch the cleaner off.

Using the Pet Brush Tool (35)
  1. Connect the  Pet Brush Tool (35) to the cleaner as shown below:

  2. Squeeze the trigger on the Pet Brush Tool (35) to reveal the brush teeth and brush the pets coat as shown below:

  3. Once the brush is full of hair:
    a. Press the On/off Trigger Switch (8) to power up the cleaner.

    b. Release the trigger button (arrowed right) on the Pet Brush Tool (35) and the hair will then be removed by the vacuum:

Repeat the above process to continue grooming your pet.

Using the Motorised Stair Tool (38)

Attach the Motorised Stair Tool (38) to the cleaner, this useful for cleaning the stairs as below:

Emptying and Cleaning Your Cyclone Digi-Flex Vacuum Cleaner

WARNING Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains charger before cleaning.

  1. Once the dust level reaches the ‘MAX’ mark (arrowed left) on the Dust Compartment (3) it will need emptying and the filters cleaned.
    WARNING do not continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the ‘MAX’ mark has been reached as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.

  2. Right: To empty the cleaner, hold the Dust Compartment (3) over a dust bin as shown right and press the Dust Release Catch (1) (arrowed right) and the Dust   Compartment Cover (15) of the dust compartment will swing open and allow the collected dust to fall out into the dust bin.

  3. Hold the Dust Compartment (3) and press the Dust Compartment Catch (4) arrowed left and lift up the dust compartment and remove.

  4. Remove the Hepa & Cyclonic Filters (2) from the Dust Compartment (3) as shown right:

  5. Above: Wash the Hepa & Cyclonic Filters (2) in warm running water until clean. Allow the filters to dry thoroughly for 24 hours before reuse.

    Replacing the Filters in Your Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

  6. Left: First replace the Hepa Filter inside the Cyclonic Filter, rotate the Hepa filter clockwise to lock it onto the Cyclonic Filter as shown.

  7. Right: Replace the Hepa & Cyclonic Filters (2) into the Dust Compartment (3) as shown.

  8. Left: Replace the Dust Compartment (3) onto the vacuum by hooking the dust compartment on (arrowed left) and pushing it down until it clicks home as shown.

Care and Use of your Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

  • Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains charger before cleaning.
  • Clean outside of the cleaner with a clean damp cloth. Never clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners.
  • Do not submerge the cleaner or its charger in water or any other liquids.
  • Empty the Dust Compartment (3) as soon as the ‘MAX’ mark has been reached.
  • Wash the Hepa & Cyclonic Filters (2) regularly – see table below.
  • Allow the filters to thoroughly dry out for 24 hours before reassembly and use.

*WARNING do not continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the ‘MAX’ mark has been reached as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.

WARNING Ensure the filters are cleaned periodically according to the table above, failure to clean the filters regularly will severely impair the performance and permanent damage may occur to the appliance and may invalidate your warranty.

Troubleshooting Guide

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit fails to turn on. Internal battery not charged.
The charger is not plugged into the mains socket. Charge the internal

Ensure the charger is fully inserted into the socket and the socket is switched on.
