We congratulate you on the purchase of your new VMAX e-scooter and welcome you to the VMAX family. To ensure that you have a good knowledge of the device and can experience the greatest possible driving pleasure with the highest level of safety, it is important that you read this user manual carefully before using it for the first time and keep it for any questions that may arise later. We hope you enjoy using your new e-scooter!

Road approval
An e-scooter is a means of locomotion with an electric motor and therefore falls into the category of light motor vehicles or, in Germany, into the category of „miniature electric vehicles“. Your device meets all the requirements and conditions for the category of light motor vehicles and „very small electric vehicles“ and also has an operating permit (ABE) required in Germany.
Both in Switzerland and in Germany, e-scooters are subject to the rules of public road traffic, which must be complied with.

Safety instructions
WARNING:
RIDING AN E-SCOOTER CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH
Please note that the instructions and hazard warnings described in the operating instructions can reduce the risk, but not all risks are excluded. We ask you to handle your e-scooter carefully and responsibly.
ATTENTION:
Read user manual before commissioning
- We recommend that you wear a hard hat and other protective equipment. Make sure you wear good footwear with a flat sole.
- Drive only on dry, clean, level surfaces and when road conditions and weather warrant safe driving. Never drive on snow, ice, or slushy surfaces, in heavy rain, or in conditions of limited visibility.
- Never ride on stairs, escalators, ramps, over curbs longer than 2 cm, or in skate parks.
- Do not drive if you feel unwell or tired and stop driving if you feel tired or unwell during the journey.
- The e-scooter is designed for use by a single person. Any infringement will be regarded as improper use. The user bears all risks.
- All interventions to increase the power or speed, as well as general changes to the characteristics of the e-scooter are punishable by law and will be prosecuted, furthermore any warranty claims are void.
- The e-scooter must not be driven by children under the age of 14.
- Persons with physical limitations are recommended to have an accompanying person, especially at the beginning and according to the severity of the limitation. If the physical balance is impaired, do not use the e-scooter.
- The maximum weight for use must be observed (see technical data, page 20).
- Never drive under the influence of alcohol, medication or drugs.
- Always place both feet on the footboard while riding.
Safety instructions lithium ion battery
WARNING:
- The lithium ion battery may only be charged under supervision and not overnight.
- The li-ion battery must not be charged when your device or the device or the charging cable are wet or damp.
- Only use the original charger included in the scope of delivery to charge the li-ion battery.
- Never charge the li-ion battery near flammable materials, liquids, heat sources or fire.
- Keep the li-ion battery away from children and animals.
- If your li-ion battery is damaged, leaking electrolytes may cause a risk of poisoning or chemical burns. Avoid inhaling the escaping vapors! Avoid skin contact! In case of accidental skin contact, rinse the affected area thoroughly with water and consult a doctor.
- If your li-ion battery catches fire, never extinguish it with water! Use sand or a CO2 fire extinguisher as an extinguishing agent.
- Do not make any modifications to your li-ion battery. Never modify, repair or disassemble the li-ion battery.
Charging process
ATTENTION:
Your device requires regular charging. Proceed as follows:
- Fully charge the li-ion battery before initial operation and do not interrupt the charging process. Also do not switch on or operate your device during the charging process.
- Make sure that the charger plugs and the charging socket are dry before charging and that there is no dirt or dust in or on them.
- Connect the charging plug to the charging socket on your e-scooter.
- Connect the charger to the power socket via the power plug.
- During the charging process, the LED control lamp on the charger lights up red.
- Once the li-ion battery of the e-scooter is charged, the LED indicator light on the charger will turn green and you can remove the charger.
Maintenance and Care
ATTENTION:
Your device requires regular and careful maintenance. Proceed as follows:
- Your e-scooter is not waterproof. The device is protected against dust in harmful quantities and protected against splashing water on all sides in accordance with the IP 54 standard.
- Disconnect the e-scooter, if connected, from the charger and switch it off.
- Check your device for loose parts, damage, excessive wear and the integrity of the housing and tires. If you find any defects during the inspection, stop using the e-scooter and contact your dealer.
- Your e-scooter has solid rubber tires, which do not need to be inflated.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Therefore, use a damp rag for maintenance and avoid contact of water with electronic components in any case.
- Dry the device completely, before each start-up or loading.
Storage
ATTENTION:
Your device requires some rules during storage, proceed as follows:
- Charge the li-ion battery to approx. 60% before storage.
- Repeat the procedure at least every four weeks during storage and when not in use to avoid deep discharge.
- Protect your e-scooter from dust and other external influences, ideally in the stored original packaging.
- Store the e-scooter in a dry place and at a temperature of 10 to 15°C, which is optimal. Make sure that the room temperature does not drop below 5°C and do not store the e-scooter outdoors.
- Never store the e-scooter for a long period of time in high heat (e.g. in the car in summer).
- There is no warranty claim for damage to the li-ion battery due to improper storage or insufficient charging during storage or non-use (deep discharge).

Display functions
On/off gear shifting
Press the on / off button (10) for 2 seconds to switch on the device.
Briefly press the menu button (9) to switch between the gears:
1 = first gear 10 km/h
2 = second gear 15 km/h
3 = third gear 20 km/h
Press the menu button (9) for 4 seconds to access the ODO display.
Press the menu button (9) again for 4 seconds to get to the trip display.
ODO = total kilometers driven / Trip = kilometers driven per trip
Press the on / off button (10) again for 4 seconds to switch the device off. If the e-scooter is not used, the device switches off automatically after 5 minutes.
Light
Press the on / off button (10) once briefly to switch the light either on or off.
Adjustments
Brake adjustment drum brake
If the brake lever has too much „play“ for your needs, you can turn the nut on the drum brake clockwise.
Fine adjustment handlebar and folding mechanism
If you feel that the handlebars are wobbling a bit, first tighten the four bolts that secure the steering head with a 2.5 mm allen wrench.
Other screws are located on the folding mechanism and on the lower end of the handlebar. If you feel that the folding mechanism has some „play“ or that it does not engage or close correctly, you can adjust these screws. This requires good tuning, as the mechanism should have no „play“, but should open smoothly by lifting the safety latch.
Before the first ride
Make sure that the device is in perfect and undamaged condition.
- Place the e-scooter on a flat surface and check the charging status of your device.
- Press the on/off button on the handlebar, the display with the battery indicator lights up.
- Stand directly next to your e-scooter and hold the handlebars firmly with both hands.
- Place your right or left foot on the footboard and push off with the other foot. Now also place the second foot behind or next to the first foot on the footboard and press the accelerator.
- To brake or stop, you can press the brake lever on the handlebars.
- To switch off the e-scooter, press and hold the on/off button for 4 seconds.
ATTENTION! For safety reasons, the scooter will not start until you push off lightly with your foot from the ground as described previously.

- Damage, due to a modification, accident or mishandling.
- Damage, due to influences such as fire or water.
- Damage caused by repairs carried out by the customer. Repairs and overhauls may only be carried out by skilled personnel!

1. Disposal of electrical and electronic equipment

The crossed-out waste garbage can means that you are legally obliged to dispose of these devices separately from unsorted municipal waste. Disposal via the residual waste garbage can or the yellow garbage can is prohibited. If the products contain batteries or rechargeable batteries that are not permanently installed, these must be removed before disposal and disposed of separately as batteries.
