Safety Notes
Please note the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damage or physical injury:
- This manual belongs to the product. It contains important notes on operating the unit. Please pass it on along with the unit if it is handed over to a third party!
- Improper use may result in personal injury and property damage. Persons unfamiliar with the manual should not operate the LED floodlight.
- Dispose of the packaging materials carefully; the plastic bags may become a deadly toy for children.
- Keep the unit out of the reach of children. It is not a toy.
- Make sure the available mains voltage corresponds to the data stated on the type label.
- The floodlight is only approved for connection to AC voltage (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
- Use of the LED floodlight is permitted indoors and outdoors. However, the LED floodlight must not be operated in water and must be mounted on a suitable place. When mounting and operating the floodlight make sure moisture, heavy soiling and excessive heating are avoided.
- The LED floodlight must not be converted or modified!
- The LED floodlight must not be connected to the power supply while it is in the packaging.
- The LED cannot be replaced. If the housing has been damaged, do not use the LED floodlight and dispose of the device.
- The LED floodlight was designed for private use and not for continuous professional operation.
- Do not stare directly into the LEDs and do not direct the light beam towards people or animals.
- Do not use devices which can strongly focus light for viewing the light beam.
- Do not continue to use the unit if the unit is damaged. Repair work must be done by a qualified service technician.
- Disconnect the unit from the power mains if you don’t use it or clean it (unplug, release fuse, etc.).
- Close proximity to strong transmitters may cause malfunctions of the motion detector. Strong transmitters can be e.g. amateur radio operators in your neighbourhood or transmitting masts for mobile telephone systems or broadcasting stations. In this case, it may happen that the motion detector switches on casually, without detecting an animal or a person near by the motion detector.
- Do not expose the LED floodlight to excessive temperatures, strong magnetic fields or to strong vibrations.
- Do not use the product in rooms or in poor ambient conditions where flammable gases, vapours or explosive dust may be present or are present! There is a risk of explosion!
- Do not immerse any components of the LED floodlight in liquids of any kind.
- Position the power cord securely so it cannot become a tripping hazard. Do not bend the power cord too much and do not jam the cord or pull it around edges.
- Immediately replace a broken glass of the floodlight.
- Allow at least 1 m illuminating distance to other objects.
- Never cover the product when it is in use.
- The product is not intended for operation in altitudes of over 2000 meters.
- Do not disassemble the unit or attempt to modify or repair it yourself. It does not contain parts serviceable by you. In case of questions or problems, turn to our customer service.
Operation
Intended Use
- The LED floodlight is intended for illuminating house entrances, drive-ways, etc. It may be installed indoor and in outdoor areas. The LED floodlight is splash waterproof (IP44).
- Any other use than that described above may damage the product. Moreover, this may give rise to hazards such as short-circuiting, fire, electric shock, etc.
- No part of the product may be modified or converted!
Preparations for Installation
- The product may only be installed by a qualified technician (e.g. electrician) who is familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German electrical wiring regulations)!
- Improper work, carried out on the mains voltage, endangers not only your own life but also the life of others!
- If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install it yourself but ask a qualified technician.
- Observe the safety instructions!
- Without fail, pay attention to the correct mounting position of the LED floodlight and the connection cable. If installed outdoors, make sure no water can enter the housing when installing the connection cable.
- The LED floodlight should not be operated near water and other liquids, or in locations where water and other liquids may accumulate. Please keep a minimum distance of 5 m to swimming pools, ponds etc.
- The floodlight must not be mounted on or near flammable surfaces.
- The LED floodlight should not be mounted near flammable and moving objects, such as furniture, decorative material, curtains, candles, etc.
- Mount the LED floodlight only on a stable surface (wall/ceiling). The installation site must be stable and must not be exposed to vibrations. Depending on the substrate, use suitable screws and dowels.
- The LED floodlight must be protected on the sub-distribution board by a 10/16A fuse. An earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed before this (FI protective switch).
- The LED floodlight must be disconnected from the power supply during installation. It is not sufficient to just turn off at the light switch!
- Turn the power off by removing the corresponding circuit fuse or switch off at the circuit breaker. Secure it against an unauthorised re-start, e.g. with a danger sign. In addition, switch off the associated earth-leakage circuit breaker.
- Check that the mains connection is current free with a suitable tester.
- The earth protection cable must be connected when installing the LED floodlight.
- Do not install the LED floodlight, if the LED floodlight is replacing an existing light and there is no protective earth cable available. First, draw a new mains cable.
- Where the protective earth is not connected, a fault with the mains voltage might result in the metal housing of the LED floodlight becoming live. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
- When drilling in walls and ceilings, pay attention to cables, gas and water pipes.
Mounting/Installation
-
1. Unscrew the lock nut (7) from the cable gland (6) and guide the power cable through the lock nut and the waterproof grommet (8).
-
2. Connect the three wires of the power cable with the lustre terminals.
N = Blue
L = Brown/Black
= PE (Green/Yellow)
WARNING! Risk of electric shock! The floodlight may only be operated when connected to ground.
Hint: If the floodlight glows faintly when OFF after connecting, switch the cables in the terminals L and N.

-
Re-tighten the lock nut (7).
-
Secure the power cable with the waterproof grommet (8).
-
Install the wall mount (3) with two or three suitable screws securely to an appropriate place. Make sure the floodlight is securely mounted.
-
Tilt the floodlight to the desired angle and tighten the hinge adjusting screws (5) of the wall mount to secure its position. Note: Before installing the floodlight permanently to a wall, check the proper functionality and the field of view of the motion sensor (1). Select a suitable place of installation in order to have the floodlight activated in time when passing the motion sensor.
-
Switching ON
The LED floodlight is switched on by plugging into mains or by supplying
power.
Motion Controlled Operation
- You can adjust the motion sensor (1) horizontally and vertically. For vertical adjustment, unscrew the locking screw (12) at the joint of the motion sensor and hand tighten the screw after adjusting it.
- To adjust the motion sensor horizontally, grasp the whole sensor and turn it very carefully to the left or to the right to the desired direction.
Adjustments
There are three adjusting knobs on the motion sensor: SENS, TIME and LUX.
- With the SENS knob (9) the sensitivity of the motion sensor for motions can be set.
- Use the TIME knob (10) to setup the illumination time of the unit after motion stops in the field of vision. The time can be set from 10±5 seconds to 10±1 minutes. Please note, once the light has been triggered by the sensor any subsequent detection will start the timed period again from the beginning.
- The LED floodlight has a built-in sensing device (photocell) that detects daylight and darkness. Turn the LUX knob (11) towards (*) to have the motion sensor turning on the light in brighter illumination conditions, turn it to () to have the light activated only in darkness.
- The LED floodlight automatically switches on each time the motion sensor (1) detects motion within its field of view. The light will turn off after the set time when no more motion is detected. Hint: The max. range of the motion sensor depends on the ambient temperature. In cold environments, the range is higher.
Cleaning
- Clean the housing of the floodlight only with a dry or lightly moistened cloth. Do not use aggressive chemicals or abrasives for cleaning.
- Keep the motion sensor (1) clean at all times.
