4. Safety instructions

• The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
• Use the product only for the intended purpose.
• Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating and use it in dry environments only.
• Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters, other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
• As with all electrical products, this device should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not operate the product outside the power limits specified in the technical data.
• Do not use the product in areas in which electronic products are not permitted.
• Do not use the product in a damp environment and avoid splashing water.
• Do not place the product near interference fields, metal frames, computers, TVs, etc. Electronic devices and window frames can negatively affect the product’s functionality.
• Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
• Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
• Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
• Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.

Warning – Batteries

• When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and – markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
• Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.
• Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polar contacts.
• Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types or from different manufacturers.
• Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
• Do not short-circuit batteries.
• Do not charge batteries.
• Do not burn batteries.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
• Remove spent batteries from the product and dispose of them without delay.
• Do not store, charge or use the device in extreme temperatures.

5. Getting started

5.1. Inserting the battery
Open the battery compartment cover (E), remove the contact interrupter and close the battery compartment cover (E) again. The clock is ready for operation.

5.2. Changing the battery

• Remove and dispose of the spent battery if required. Insert four new batteries (AA). Take care to ensure the correct polarity as shown in the diagram in the battery compartment (E).

5.3. Low battery

• As soon as the battery symbol (2) appears on the wall clock’s display, the battery capacity is very low. Change the battery immediately.

6. Installation

Warning – installation instructions

• Before mounting, check that the wall you have chosen is suitable for the weight to be mounted. Also make sure that there are no electric, water, gas or other lines running through the wall at the mounting site.
• Obtain suitable attachment material from specialist retailers.
• Do not mount the product above locations where persons might sit or stand.
• You can attach the wall clock to a wall using the cut-out on the back (G).
• Alternatively, place the wall clock on a flat surface using the stand (F).

7. Operation

  Information – entry
Hold the ▲ button (C) or ▼ button (D) down to select the values more quickly.

7.1 Automatic adjustment according to the DCF signal

• After the batteries are inserted, the clock automatically starts to search for a DCF signal. The radio symbol (3) flashes during the search process.

Note
Be aware that electronic devices such as TVs, PCs, etc. can interfere with reception. The interference range of such devices can be up to two metres

Note – setting the time

• If no DCF radio signal is received within the first few minutes of the initial setup procedure, the search is terminated. The radio symbol disappears.
• In the event of reception problems, we recommend leaving the clock standing overnight since the interference signals are generally fewer in number at this time.
• Meanwhile, you can carry out a manual search for the DCF radio signal at a different location or set the date and time manually.
• The clock automatically continues to search for the DCF signal every day. Once the signal is received successfully, the manually set time and date are overwritten.

Note – summertime

• The time adjusts automatically to summertime. While summertime is active, S (4) appears on the display.
• Press and hold the button (B) for around 3 seconds to end the manual search process.

**Note – time zone**

• The DCF signal can be received in many places, however it does not always correspond to the CET applicable in Germany. You should therefore remember to take into account the time difference in countries with a different time zone.
• Moscow, for example, is 3 hours ahead of Germany. Set the time to the time zone +3. The clock will then automatically set itself 3 hours ahead of the time received from the DCF signal or the time set manually.

8. (Manual) settings

**Note – disabling radio mode**

• You can completely disable radio mode. In settings mode, select “OFF” to disable radio mode.
• As described in 6.2 Manual settings, set the time and date.
• In settings mode, select “ON” to re-enable radio mode.
• The radio symbol (3) appears in the display and the clock once again searches for the radio signal.

****Note – day of the week
For the display of the days of the week, you can choose German (GER), English (ENG), French (FRE), Italian (ITA), Spanish (SPA), Dutch (DUT) or Danish (DAN).

9. Celsius / Fahrenheit

Press the ▼ button (D) to switch the temperature display between °C and °F.

Note – 12/24-hour format
Once the radio signal is received, the time is shown in the 24-hour format. Press the ▲ button (C) to switch the time display between the 12-hour format and 24-hour format. In 12-hour format, either AM or PM appears in the display.

10. Care and Maintenance

• Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
• Ensure that no water is able to enter the product.
