Getting to know the Smart Thermostat
The indicators (mode button, Temperature down, Temperature up, Modes, Current
temperature, Info icon, Energy saver) appear when a function is engaged. You
will not see them all at once or when your device is inactive. You can also
change the display settings later in the App.
What’s in the box?
Device, cosmetic plate (optional), wire labeling stickers, Wallplate, Screws with anchors, installation tool.
Things to know before you begin
Before installing your device, you should be comfortable handling the
electrical wiring in your home. If not, hire a professional to take care of
the installation for you.
This system is intended to replace an existing 24V thermostat and is compatible with most heating, cooling, and heat pump systems. It does not work with electric baseboard heat (120-240V) or millivolt systems.
You must turn off power to your heating and cooling system at your circuit breaker or fuse box before installing your thermostat.
The thermostat requires 2.4 GHz wifi. Make sure you have your wifi password handy before you begin the installation.
You may want to heat or cool your home to a comfortable temperature before beginning the installation since your system won’t be operating during that time.
WARNING: ELECTRICAL HAZARD
Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric
shock, or other injury or damage.
Before installing your thermostat, turn off power to your heating and cooling system at your circuit breaker or fuse box. Verify that the power is off.
Be aware that all electrical wires, regardless of function, can carry an electrical current. Treat all wires with equal caution.
CAUTION: MERCURY NOTICE
If this product is replacing a control that contains mercury in a sealed tube,
do not place the old control in the trash. Contact your local waste management
authority for instructions regarding recycling and proper disposal.
