Safety Notes

• The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
• Use the product for its intended purpose only.
• Protect the product from dirt, moistureand overheating, and only use it in an adry environment.
• Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
• Keep this product, like all electrical products, out of the reach of children!
• Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
• Do not use the product in areas where the use of electronic devices is not permitted.
• Do not use the product in moist environments and avoid splashes.
• Do not place the product near interference fields, metal frames, computers, TVs, etc. Electronic devices and window frames can negatively affect the functionality of the product
• Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
• Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
• Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
• Dispose of packaging material immediately according to locally applicable regulations.

Risk of electric shock

• Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
• Do not use the product if the AC adapter, adapter cable, or power cable is damaged.
• Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself.
• Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.

**** Warning –Batteries

• When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and -markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure Doing so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
• Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.
• Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polar contacts.
• Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
• Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types or make.
• Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
• Do not short-circuit batteries.
• Do not charge batteries.
• Do not throw batteries in a fire.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
• Immediately remove and dispose of dead batteries from the product.
• Avoid storing, charging or using the device in extreme temperatures and extremely low atmospheric pressure(for example, at high altitudes).

Getting Started

Note
Before use, ensure you insert the batteries in the measuring station first and then in the base station.

Insert batteries /connect the power supply

Measuring station

• Remove the screen protector from the display.
• Open the battery compartment (C5) and remove the contact breaker.
• Then close the battery compartment cover.

Base station

Warning

• Connect the product only to a socket that has been approved for the device. The socket must be installed close to the product and must be easily accessible.
• Disconnect the product from the network using the power button –ifthis is not available, unplug the power cord from the socket.
• When using a multi-socket power strip, make sure that the sum power draw of all the connected devices does not exceed its maximum throughput rating.
• If you will not be using the product for a long period of time, disconnect it from mains power.
• Remove the screen protector from the display.
• Connect the power supply unit to the power supply unit connection socket (B10) on the back of the base station.
• Connect the power cable of the weather station to the properly installed socket.
• Alternatively, open the battery compartment (B12), insert two AA batteries with the correct polarity, and close the battery compartment cover.

Note
If the batteries are inserted correctly and you connect the power supply unit to the station, the base station will automatically switch to the external power supply.

Replacing the batteries

Note –Replacing the batteries ****

• Note that the stations have to be resynchronized each time after you change the batteries in the measuring or base station.
• To do this, remove the batteries from the other station and then reinsert them, or change them as required.

Measuring station

• When the symbol appears, replace the 2AAbatteries for the measuring station with 2new ones.
• Open the battery compartment (C5), remove and properly dispose of the dead batteries and insert 2new AA batteries with the correct polarity. Then close the battery compartment cover.

Base station

• When the symbol appears, replace the 2AAbatteries for the base station with 2new ones.
• Open the battery compartment (B12), remove and properly dispose of the dead batteries and insert 2new AA batteries with the correct polarity. Then close the battery compartment cover.

Installation

Note –Installation

• We recommend initially placing the base and measuring stations in the intended locations without installing them and making all the settings described in 6. Operation – to do.
• Only install the stations once the appropriate settings have been made and an astable wireless connection is established.

Note

• The wireless transmission range between the measuring and base stations is up to 50 min open spaces.
• Before installation, ensure that wireless transmission will not be disrupted by interference or obstacles like buildings, trees, vehicles, high-voltage lines, etc.
• Before the final installation, ensure that there is sufficient reception between the intended installation locations.
• When installing the measuring station, ensure that it is protected from direct sunlight and rain.
• The international standard height for measuring air temperatureis1.25 m(4ft) above ground.

Warning

• Buy special or suitable installation material from a specialized dealer for wall-mounting.
• Ensure that no faulty or damaged parts are installed.
• Never apply force during installation. This could damage the product.
• Before installation, ensure that the chosen wall is suitable for the weight to be mounted, and make sure that there are no electrical wires, water, gas or other lines at the installation site on the wall.
• Do not mount the product above locations where persons might linger.

Base station

• Use the base to position the base station on a level surface.
• Alternatively, you can install the base station on a wall using the opening (B13) on the back.

Measuring station

• You can also position the measuring station on a level outdoor surface.
• We recommend installing the measuring station securely on an outdoor wall (C6).
• Install an anchor, screw, nail, etc. in the wall of your choice.
• Hang up the base/measuring station using the opening
  (B13/C6) intended for this purpose.

Operation

Note –Input

• Hold the button (B4) or the button (B5) to select the values faster.

Connection to the measuring station

• After you insert the batteries, the base station automatically searches for a connection to the measuring station and performs initial setup.

Note

• Initial setup takes approximately 3minutes.
• During the connection attempt, the radio symbol on the measuring station (A12) will flash.
• Do not press any buttons during setup. Otherwise, values may not be transmitted correctly and there is risk of value errors and inaccuracies.
• The setup process is completed when the indoor and outdoor measurement data (A1/A2/A8/A10) is displayed.
• If the base station still does not receive a signal from the measuring station, press and hold the button (B5) for approx. 3seconds to start the manual search for the signal.

Note –Faulty transfer of measured values

• In isolated cases, interference -e.g. from a WLAN network, a computer or a television set -can cause the transfer of measured values between the measuring station and the base station to fail.
• In this case, you must resynchronize the stations by briefly removing the batteries from both stations and reinserting them.
• If the measured values are not transferred again once the batteries are inserted, replace the batteries with new ones.
• If necessary, select a new location for the base station in order to avoid possible interference in the future.

Selecting the channel/other measuring stations

Note
You can install two more measuring stations in addition to the included measuring station. Ensure that the base and measuring stations are set to the same channel.

• Press the button (B5) repeatedly to set the channel to that set on the respective measuring station. Channel 1, 2or3 is displayed.
• If the symbol is displayed, the weather station will automatically switch the displayed channel every five seconds.

Basic and manual settings

Automatic setting using the DCF signal

• After the first time, the base station is switched on and successful transmission is established between the base station and the measuring station, the clock will automatically search for aDCF signal. During the search, the wireless symbol (A13) will flash.

• If the station still does not receive a signal, press and hold the button (B4) for approx. 3seconds to start the manual search for the DCF signal. The wireless symbol (A13) will start to flash.

Note –Time settings

• The search process takes about 7minutes. If the search fails, it ends and is repeated at the next clock hour.
• In the meantime you can, however, set the time and the date manually.
• The clock automatically continues to search for the DCF signal on a daily basis (between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.). If the signal is received successfully, the manually set time and date are overwritten.
• Press and hold the button (B4) again for approx. 3 seconds to stop the manual search.

Note –Summertime
The clock automatically switches to summertime. DTS appears on the display as long as summertime is activated.

(Manual) settings

• Press the button (B2) to switch between the display of the date and seconds.
• Press and hold the button (B2) for approx. 3seconds to make the following settings one after the other:
• 12/24-hour format
• Time zone
•  Hour
• Minute
• Month and date display
• Year
• Month
• Day
• Language
• Day of the week
• To select the individual values, press the button (B4) or the button (B5), and confirm each selection by pressing the button (B2).
• Press the button (B2) immediately to adopt the set value displayed and skip ahead.
• If you do not make an entry for 20 seconds, Settings mode is exited automatically.

Note –Time zone

• The DCF signal can be received over long distances, but always transmits the current Central European Time in Germany. Make sure you account for the time difference in countries with another time zone.
• If you are in Moscow, the time is 3hours later than in Germany. This means that you should set +3 for the time zone. The clock then automatically sets the time to 3hours after the DCF signal is received or relative to the manually set time.

Note –Day of the week
You can choose from German (GE), English (EN), French (FR), Italian (IT), Spanish (SP), Dutch (DU), and Danish (DA) for the day of the week display.

Celsius /Fahrenheit
Press the button (B4) to switch between °C and °F for the temperature display.
Alarm

• Press the ****button (B3) to display the alarm time.
• Press and hold the ****button (B3) for approx. 3seconds to set the signal time of the alarm displayed. The hour’s display begins to flash.
• Press the button (B4) or the button (B5) to select the hour for the alarm time and confirm your selection by pressing the ****button (B3). The minute’s display begins to flash.
• Repeat the process to set the minutes for the alarm time.
• If you do not make an entry for 20 seconds, Settings mode is exited automatically.
• If the alarm is triggered, the alarm symbol will begin to flash and an alarm will sound.
• Press any button (except the “ ”button, B1) to stop the alarm. Otherwise, it will stop automatically after 2minutes.
• The alarm does not need to be reactivated. It will trigger again at the set alarm time 24 hours later.

Enabling/disabling the alarm

• To enable the daily alarm, slide the alarm switch to the “ ”(B9) position. If the alarm is activated, the alarm symbol “ is displayed.
• To disable the daily alarm, slide the alarm switch to the “ ”(B9) position. The alarm symbol “ ”disappears from the display.

Hinweis –Snooze function

• While the alarm signal is sounding, press the “ / ” button (B1) to activate the snooze function. The alarm signal will stop for 5minutes, after which it will sound again.
• Press any button (except the “ ”button, B1) to stop the snooze function and the alarm.

Weather forecast

• Based on changes in the atmospheric pressure and the data saved, the base station is able to make weather forecasts for the next 12 to 24 hours.

Note –Weather forecast
The weather forecast function is not available during the first few hours of operation because it requires data that is collected during operation.
The weather station shows the trend of the weather for the next 8hours using the following weather symbols:

Temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure trends

Note
The trend displays are not available during the first few hours of operation because they require data that is collected during operation.
Note
All measurement values are subject to a certain amount of measurement error.

The weather station indicates a trend as to how the values for the outdoor temperature/humidity (A1/A2), room temperature/ humidity (A10/A8) and atmospheric pressure(A6) are likely to develop over the next few hours.

Unit of air pressure

• Press and hold the “ ”button (B7) for approx. 3seconds until the measurement unit of the air pressure starts to flash.
• Press the “ ”button (B4) and the “ ”button (B5) to switch between the units “mb hPa” and “inHg”.
• Press the “ ”button (B7) to confirm your selection.

A ir pressure record

• The air pressure recorded in the last 24 hours is displayed (A7).

Maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values

• The base station automatically stores the maximum and minimum outdoor/indoor temperature and humidity values.
• Repeatedly press the MEM button (B8) briefly to switch between the current temperature and humidity, minimum temperature and humidity (MIN), and maximum temperature and humidity (MAX).
• Press and hold the MEM button (B8) for approx. 3seconds to reset the stored maximum and minimum values.

Comfort display

The base station displays the following comfort ranges based on the ratio between the current room temperature and room humidity:

Much too dry or humid

Moon phases

The base station displays the current moon phase (A5) using the following symbols:

Waxing crescent
Half-full
Waxing gibbous
Full moon
Waning gibbous
Half-full
Waning crescent

Temperature alarm

Setting the upper/lower temperature limit
Note

• You can define a lower and an upper limit value and activate an alarm for each channel and/or connected measuring station.
• Note that the lower limit value must be at least 1°C/1°F below the upper limit value.
• Press and hold the “ ”button (B6) for approximately 2 seconds.
• The symbol for the upper-temperature limit alarm “ ”starts flashing. Use the “ ”(B4) and “ ”(B5) buttons to set the desired maximum temperature. Press the “ ****”button (B6) again to confirm your settings.
• Then the symbol for the lower temperature limit alarm “ ”starts flashing. Repeat the procedure for the lower limit.

Enabling the temperature alarm
• Press the “ ”button (B6) to enable/disable the temperature alarm. When the temperature warning is active, the temperature/frost alarm symbol (A3) is displayed.
• Once the upper or lower limit of the temperature range is reached, an alarm signal sounds. The “ALERTS” display and the temperature display (A3) begin flashing.
• Press any button to stop the warning signal.
• If the temperature exceeds the value of the set upper limit, “ also starts flashing in the display.
• If the temperature goes below the value of the set lower limit, “ ”also starts flashing in the display.
• Press the “ ”button (B6) to end the warning indicators in the display.

Frost alarm

Note
The frost alarm is automatically enabled when the temperature alarm is enabled.

• If the outdoor temperature is measured to be within the range of –1 to 3°C, the ice symbol (A3) is shown in the display.

Charging function

Warning –Connecting terminal devices ****

• Before connecting a terminal device, check whether the power output of the charger can supply sufficient power for the device.
• Ensure that the power of the connected terminal device does not exceed 5W.
• Please refer to the operating instructions for your terminal device.

Note
The charging function is only possible when plugged into mains power.

• Connect your terminal device to the USB charging socket of the weather station (B11) using a suitable USB cable.
• The charging progress is displayed on your terminal device.
• Disconnect the terminal device from the USB charging socket if you want to interrupt charging or if the terminal device is fully charged.

Backlight

• Press the “ ”button (B1) to light up the display.
• During battery operation, the display is illuminated for approximately 15 seconds.

Note –Permanent backlight
Permanent backlight mode is only possible when the base station is plugged into mains power.

Care and Maintenance

• Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
• Make sure that water does not get into the product.

Note
Disconnect the device from the power supply beforecleaning it or if it is not going to be used for a long period of time.
