Connecting to the internet
Your modem is set to automatically connect to the internet except when you are
roaming.
Turn on your computer and insert the modem into a USB port. While the modem is
starting up, the status light slowly blinks green.
Once the modem is connected to your wireless network, the status light is
solid green. (The light is amber when roaming.)
Removing your modem
When your USB modem is not in use, you can safely remove it by gently gripping the edges and pulling it out of the USB port.
Managing the device
Launch a browser and access the Web UI at http://my.usb or
http://192.168.1.1 for a full set of device management features.
The Home page of the Web UI appears:
The initial sign-in password is “admin “. You are prompted to change the
password after your first login.
Click the arrow in the bottom-right corner of a panel to access pages with
further information and options. Each subscreen has a navigation panel on the
left, which you can use to return to the Home page or jump to other pages.
Monitoring usage
You can monitor your data usage on the Home page or Data Usage page of the Web UI. Go to http://my.usb or http://192.168.1.1.
PIN Protecting the SIM card
For additional security, you can lock the SIM card in your modem by setting a PIN code. When locked, the PIN code must be entered before the modem connects to the internet.
- Go to the Web UI at http://my.usb.
- On the Home page, click the arrow icon in the bottom right corner of the Settings panel.
- Select the SIM tab.
- Click the Turn on SIM PIN Lock button and enter the desired PIN code.
Replacing the SIM card
The device comes with a Nano SIM card preinstalled. Should you need to swap out the Nano SIM card, follow these instructions:
- Open the protective door by pressing on the cover and sliding the door off.
- Remove the SIM card by pushing forward on the exposed edge.
- Insert the new SIM card with the gold contacts facing down.
- Push the SIM card until it remains securely in the slot.
- Replace the back cover and snap it into place.
CAUTION: Do not bend or scratch your SIM card. Avoid exposing your SIM
card to static electricity, water, or dirt.
NOTE: The SIM card must remain in the wireless modem when in use.

CAUTION: If you reset the device to factory settings, all of your custom
settings will be lost, including your password for the Web UI, which will
default to “admin”.

- Remove the back cover from the device and locate the small pinhole labeled “Reset”.
- Insert one end of an unfolded paper clip into the hole to reset the modem.
