Getting started
The product can be used both in battery and main operation. For battery operation, fully charge the product once before first use.
Battery operation
Warning –rechargeable battery
- Only use suitable charging devices or USB connections to charge the product
- Do not use defective chargers or USB ports and do not attempt to repair them.
Warning –rechargeable battery
- Do not overcharge the product or allow the battery to completely discharge.
- Avoid storing, charging and using in extreme temperatures and at extremely low atmospheric pressures (such as at high altitudes).
- Charge regularly (at least quarterly) during periods of prolonged storage
Mains operation
Connect the supplied micro-USB charging cable to the micro-USB port (D) on the product. Connect the free plug on the micro-USB charging cable to a suitable USB charger. To do this, consult the operating instructions for the USB charger you are using
- The battery indicator (3) indicates the charge level by means of the bars.
- When fully charged, the charging process can be terminated. Disconnect the product from the mains.
Note –charging process
- A complete charging cycle takes about 2hours.
- The product’s battery can be charged both when it is switched on and off.
- When fully charged, the maximum operating time is approx. 180 to 210 minutes.
Switching on/off
- Remove the protective film from the display
- Press and hold POWER (A) for approximately 3 seconds to switch the product on.
- With each switch-on, a countdown of 180 seconds begins. This is the time required to pre-heat the internal CO2 sensor. The display (4) counts backwards from 180.
It is normal for the device to heat up while charging and during operation since the CO2 sensor is heated in order to be able to work accurately. If there is an inadequate circulation of air, the device‘s own warming can cause the temperature display to differ. The ventilation opening must never be covered up. This would lead to overheating /destruction of the device and to incorrect CO2 measurements.
Air quality guidelines (AQI)

Endangering health
In addition to the digital display of the CO2 concentration (4), the device
also has aCO2trafficlight (5). It offers a visual quick check. From 400 to 700
ppm, GOOD lights up green; from 701 to 1000 ppm, NORMAL lights up yellow; from
1001 to 5000 ppm, POOR lights up red. Above 1001 ~2,000 ppm, the alarm symbol
starts to flash and repeated alarm sound is heard twice in succession which
becomes more intensive when the limit of 2,000 ppm is exceeded. The alarm
symbol and the ppm indicator flash. This can be switched on and off using the
POWER button (A). Check via the symbol (1) in the display.
Specifically by providing the value for the CO2 concentration in the air (4) ,
conclusions can be drawn about aerosols with viruses (e.g. Covid 19) present
in the air. Although these are not directly detectable, increased CO2
pollution is at the same time a measure of virus-contaminated air. This can be
remedied by regular airing. Permanently inhaling bad and stale air can cause
tiredness, headaches, eye irritation, etc. The ability to perform and
concentrate decreases noticeably as a result.
Functions of the +and Mbuttons
- Press the +button (B) to check the max /min measured values. Holding the +button (B) for longer permanently deletes all of the measurements made so far.
- Pressing the M button allows the temperature display to be toggled between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Recalibration of the product
- Press and hold the +(B) and POWER (A) buttons simultaneously for approximately 3seconds to recalibrate the product. Always carry out this calibration at the commissioning stage and after prolonged periods of non-use.
- Calibration should be carried out outdoors for around 20 minutes, as CO2 levels here are usually around 400-450ppm.
- Please ensure that thereisnoCO2source in the immediate vicinity. Avoid direct sunlight and rain.
- CO2 is detected after calibration. Please try to avoid perfumes, paints, air fresheners, cigarette smoke, alcohol, chemical substances and so on while carrying out measurements since these can lead to incorrect measuring results.
Care and maintenance
Note Disconnect the device from the mains before cleaning and during prolonged periods of non-use.
- Only clean this product with aslightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
- Ensurethat no water is able to enter the product.
