OVERVIEW

  • The PAV-2CH-PCM-EXT is a long distance 2 Channel audio extender capable of extending Analog and Digital High-Resolution Audio over a single UTP Category Cable. With built-in Simultaneous Play, audio plays out of all outputs, regardless of input signal type. Allowing for audio to easily be sent to a zones playback device and/or distributed system.

SPECIFICATIONS

INDICATOR LIGHTS (FRONT OF UNIT)

TRANSMITTER

Power LED – Indicates that power is connected to the unit.

  1. Light is On = Power Supply/POC Connected and Unit is operating
  2. Light is Off = Power Supply is not connected, or no power is present

Link LED – Indicates that the Transmitter has linked with the Receiver.

  1. Light is On = Unit has linked with a Receiver and is sending data
  2. Light is Off = Unit has not linked with a Receiver

Audio Selection Dipswitch – Select the Desired Audio Input.

  1. Light is On = Unit has linked with a Receiver and is sending data
  2. Light is Off = Unit has not linked with a Receiver

RECEIVER

Power LED – Indicates that power is connected to the unit.

  1. Light is On = Power Supply/POC Connected and Unit is operating
  2. Light is Off = Power Supply is not connected, or no power is present

Link LED – Indicates that the Transmitter has linked with the Receiver.

  1. Light is On = Unit has linked with a Receiver and is sending data
  2. Light is Off = Unit has not linked with a Receiver

TROUBLESHOOTING

TRANSMITTER

No Power LED

  1. Ensure PSU is sending proper voltage
  2. If using POC, ensure that the unit sending POC is connected to power
  3. If using POC, try powering the unit direct to ensure unit operates stand alone

No LED Link

  1. Ensure cable length does not exceed max distance
  2. Bypass all patch-panels and punch down blocks
  3. Try a short patch cable
  4. Re-terminate cables

No Audio or Distorted Audio

  1. Ensure desired input is selected on the audio selection dipswitch
  2. Ensure Audio being sent into the unit is PCM. Encoded Audio such as Dolby or DTS will not be passed
  3. Try different input cabling

RECEIVER

No Power LED

  1. Ensure PSU is sending proper voltage
  2. If using POC, ensure that the unit sending POC is connected to power
  3. If using POC, try powering the unit direct to ensure unit operates stand alone

No LED Link

  1. Ensure cable length does not exceed max distance
  2. Bypass all patch-panels and punch down blocks
  3. Try a short patch cable
  4. Re-terminate cables

No Audio or Distorted Audio

  1. Check the TOS output. If receiving audio, the TOS port will illuminate red
  2. Ensure Audio being sent into the unit is PCM. Encoded Audio such as Dolby or DTS will not be passed
  3. Try different output cabling
  4. Try a different audio output
