HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, discomfort, or property damage, please read and follow the health and safety information below before using the Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses (“the Product”).
Intended uses & users
- For ages 13 and up. The Product is intended only for use by persons age 13 or older. Do not allow anyone under 13 to use the Product.
- Read instructions. Read and follow all instructions included with the Product before using it. Follow all instructions and alerts provided through the Facebook View App.
Vision & hearing
- Vision conditions. If the Product has prescription lenses, it is intended only for use by the prescribed user. Use of a Product with prescription lenses by other users may provide inadequate vision correction or vision that is worse than normal.
- [Hearing loss icon] Hearing loss or damage. Exposure to loud audio for extended time may damage your hearing and could distract you. Use caution and adjust volume to protect against sudden bursts of sound. Lower the volume to World Health Organization recommended levels to reduce risks.
Discomfort & other conditions
- Discomfort. The Product is intended to be worn for extended periods. If you feel any discomfort (for example, headaches, nausea or other abnormalities, etc.), take a break from using the electronic functionalities and the Facebook View App for several minutes. If discomfort persists, stop using the Product and consult a healthcare professional.
- Interference with personal medical devices. The Product and its charging case contain magnetic material and components that emit radio waves, which could affect the operation of medical devices such as pacemakers or other implantable devices, hearing aids, or insulin pumps. If you have an electronic medical device, consult your doctor or the medical device manufacturer before using the Product. Turn off the electronic functionalities of the Product if you notice any interference with your medical device.
Interactions & environments
- Pay attention. Interacting with the Product, such as using the Assistant or receiving visual feedback through the visible LED lights, may distract you or increase the time it takes to react to hazards. Always pay attention to your surroundings, including signage and obstacles.
- Turn off electronic functionalities of the Product if you are in a situation that requires your full attention, or where distractions could put you or others in harm’s way.
- Driving. Use caution when operating a motor vehicle while wearing the Product, and keep your focus on driving. If necessary to maintain attention, turn off electronic functionalities of the Product and mute the Assistant. Follow local laws and requirements applicable to mobile phone operation. Do not use the camera while driving. If the Product impairs your peripheral vision, do not wear while driving. The lenses from Category 1 to Category 4 in Table 1 are not suitable for driving in twilight or at night. Lenses with filter category 4 are not suitable for driving and road use. Additionally, any sunglasses identified as +NSRU are not suitable for driving and road use.
- Limitations Of Use. This Product is not to be used as safety glasses or eye protection against mechanical impact hazards. Not be used for direct viewing of the sun or for protection against UV rays from artificial light sources (e.g. solaria, tanning beds).
- To perform properly, the lens must be fitted securely in the frame.
- Do not wear the Product in activities or environments where you wouldn’t wear regular glasses or sunglasses.
- Flying. Check applicable aviation security restrictions on personal electronics before flying with the Product. The Product contain lithium ion batteries and should not be placed in checked-in luggage.
- Use the Product in compliance with all the applicable local laws, rules and regulations. Use common sense and respect third parties’ rights, privacy and confidentiality.
Intended handling & maintenance

Handle with care & avoid damage. The Product is sensitive electronic equipment and should be handled with care.
○ Do not heat or bend the front frame or temples, including for fitting, as they may become damaged and even catch fire.
○ Take care when folding the temples (earpieces or arms) in or out. The Product contains sensitive electronic hardware and should be handled with reasonable care.
○ Do not drop, strike, or shake the Product excessively. Do not use the Product if it is damaged.
○ Do not attempt to open, disassemble or tamper with the Product.
○ Storage. Store the Product in its case, in a clean, dry, temperature- controlled environment. Keep in the pouch or in a hard case in a dry place at a temperature between –10°C (14°F) and +35°C (95°F).
○ Cleaning and maintenance: To clean the Product use a dampened cloth and mild soap avoiding all types of solvents or alcohol. Do not use dirty or abrasive cloths which could alter the features of the lenses. -
Water & liquids.
○ The Product is resistant to water splashes, but it is not designed for submersion in water or extended exposure to water or other liquids. In case of water exposure, dry the Product thoroughly and clear the charging areas of residue or other debris. -
Keep the Product’s charging case away from liquids. It is not water resistant and exposure to liquids could damage the charging case or other property and lead to injury.

Do not use if broken or damaged.
Charging, electrical & heat

Charging. Use only the provided charging accessories to charge the Product. Keep the charging port clear and clean of debris and residue. To clean the charging port, use the included microfiber cloth, slightly dampened if necessary.

Do not wear or clean the Product while you are charging it.

Periodically inspect the Product, charging port and charging accessories for damage or signs of wear. Do not use if any part is damaged, cracked, or if any internal component is exposed. Do not try to repair the Product yourself, instead contact support at www.ray-ban.com.

Overheating. The Product shouldn’t overheat or cause thermal discomfort during normal use. If it does, stop using it immediately and contact support. Keep the Product away from fire and heat sources.

Battery. The Product contains a lithium-ion battery that is not user-replaceable. Do not attempt to remove or replace the battery. The battery may present a fire or chemical burn hazard if misused. Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, short external contacts. Do not leave in the car under direct sunlight or expose to excessive heat or incinerate. Dispose of the battery in line with instructions and local requirements.
If the battery fluid leaks, do not touch it. If the battery fluid touches your skin or eyes, rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention. -
Accessories. Use only with original accessories and spare parts. The use with non-approved accessories may permanently damage the Product, void the Luxottica Limited Warranty and increase the risk of injury or damage to other property.
Software
- Software. Use only with the authorized Facebook View App. Update the app and the Product’ firmware when prompted. Do not attempt to modify provided software. Software is provided as-is, and is subject to terms and conditions.

HOW TO USE THE PRODUCT
Protection against the risk of damage to the eyes due to exposure to sunlight.
Category and type of filter: such indication (a number and a letter) can be
found on the packaging or on the Bar Code sticker (at the symbol *) or as the
last two characters on the temple of the glasses where the model code is
found. The number indicates the category of the filter (protection against sun
glare 0=Very limited, 1=Limited, 2=Good, 3=High, 4=Very High, for recommended
use see the row of the table Table1 at the number); the letter indicates the
type of filter (N=Normal, P=Polarized, F=Photochromic).
For photochromic lenses (F), if there is just one number, this refers to the
lenses’ category in bright light conditions, the category being one lower in
low light.
If there are two numbers, these refer to the category of the lenses in bright
light and low light conditions respectively.

recycling of the Product and/or its battery at the time of disposal will help
conserve natural resources and ensure that it is recycled in a manner that
