AIR PURIFIER OVERVIEW

THE EXTERNAL STRUCTURE OF AIR PURIFIER

User Interface
This air purifier has 5 fan speeds so you can set the fan speed to the desired air flow and noise level. To stop the fan you can set the speed to 0.

NOTE: Each filter has a life of about 12 months. To reset the filter indicator, press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds to turn off the light.

Power Switch
The Off/Reset switch at the back of the air purifier serves two purposes: it controls power to the unit and works as a circuit-breaker.

To operate the air purifier the reset/On side of the switch must be pressed down. There is no light with this switch so it will not illuminate when on. This is to keep the unit from generating light if used in a bedroom.

HEPA Filter
The HEPA filter is a HEPA Filter to filter out the fine particulates. This filter should be replaced with every 12 months of use.

Pre-Filter
The pre-filter should be wiped off, rinsed, or lightly vacuumed every 2-3 months.
July 2020 The EJ120s were manufactured with a screen pre-filter attached to the door. You can install and purchase these filters at oransi.com/products /ej-mesh-pre-filter.

EC Motor/fan overview
EC Motor/Fan When you selected the EJ Air Purifier you chose the latest and best German engineered motor available. EC (Electrically Commutated) motors use electronics to convert the AC voltage to DC to run the motor.

EC Advantages

  • More efficient and use up to 90% less power.
  • More reliable since it runs cooler.
  • More compact.
  • Quieter – no motor hum that you can get with an AC motor.

Why does the motor/fan start and stop more slowly than an AC motor? EC motors have a soft start programmed into the motor to limit the start-up current the motor draws. The ramp down after power is removed is only a function of the inertia of the fan and the friction of the bearing system. A high-quality bearing system will take longer to slow down and stop since the friction is minimized (alignment is better, lubricant is better, etc.).

let’s keep each other healthy.

MAINTENANCE

INSTRUCTIONS ARE LISTED IN NUMERICAL ORDER. SEE AIR PURIFIEROVERVIEW PAGE FOR REFERENCE.

Filter Access

  1. Grab the handle near the top of the cover.
  2. Pull the cover from the top toward you. The cover will hinge at the bottom.
  3. Replace the filters.
  4. Close the cover and ensure it is completely closed. If the cover is not fully closed the air purifier will not power on.
  5. Plug in the air purifier and press the power switch in the back to “On”.
  6. Adjust the fan speed to the desired speed. It may take a couple seconds for the fan to begin spinning.

How to Replace the Filters
Follow the steps above to remove the cover and access the filters. All of our used filters can be placed directly in the trash. The HEPA filter should be installed with the rubber seal facing in.

Reset the Filter Replace Indicator
Press and hold the Filter Reset button beneath the flashing light for a few seconds. The light will turn off and the filter counter will reset.

TROUBLESHOOTING

The air purifier has a power switch on the back of the air purifier that must be pressed ON. If the air purifier does not run, turn the power switch to OFF and then ON. The motor will not run on fan speed 0. Increase fan speed to 3 or 4 if it does not seem to be running since it can be very quiet on the low speeds.

Using Your Oransi
Always operate your air purifier indoors on a level surface.

Locate your air purifier wherever you spend most of your time.
Typically, a bedroom, living space, office waiting room, or classroom. Set the fan speed to a level that is comfortable for you. Low settings are less audible. In most cases, you can run your air purifier on a very low fan.

For larger areas, consider a higher fan speed when you’re absent and then turn the setting lower when you return.

Air enters your Oransi at the bottom and exits the top, so you can place the unit anywhere in a room. However, be careful that curtains do not block air intake or exit.
