  • The intended use of this appliance is explained in this manual. The use of accessories other than those recommended in this manual may present a risk of personal injury.
  • Always check the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

  • SWITCH OFF AND UNPLUG WHEN NOT IN USE AND BEFORE CLEANING THE APPLIANCE.
  • KEEP APPLIANCE AND CABLE OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
  •  KEEP THE COFFEE GRINDER, CABLE AND PLUG DRY. NEVER IMMERSE IN WATER.
  •  DO NOT PULL ON CABLE TO DISCONNECT FROM MAINS SUPPLY.
  • THE SUPPLY CORD CANNOT BE REPLACED. IF THE CORD IS DAMAGED THE APPLIANCE SHOULD BE SCRAPPED.
  • COFFEE GRINDER MAY ONLY BE CONNECTED TO THE SAME MAIN VOLT­AGE AS SHOWN ON THE RATING PLATE
  •  ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE GRINDER FROM THE SUPPLY IF IT IS LEFT UNATTENDED AND BEFORE ASSEMBLING, DISASEMBLING OR CLEANING;
  • DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO USE THE GRINDER WITHOUT SUPERVISION

CAUTION!

  • Never use with liquids and do not run the grinder empty.
  •  Do not fill above maximum level marked in the lid.
  • Do .not use without the lid in place as the contents may be ejected when the grinder is started.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capa­bilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children.
  •  Never place hands or utensils inside the base unit whilst the grinder is in use.
  •  The grinder blades are sharp, take care when cleaning.
  • Only use to grind coffee and other dry spices etc and with the parts supplied.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surface.
  • Allow the blade to stop rotating before removing the lid

TO USE

  1.  Clean thoroughly before use.
  2. Place the coffee grinder on a stable surface, fully unwind the cable and plug in.
  3. Remove the lid (twist anticlockwise) and measure the desired quantity (max 50g) of coffee beans etc into the grinder. The lid is marked with graduations and is full at 50g.
  4. Refit the lid.
  5.  Press lightly down on the lid and twist clockwise to lock the lid into position.
  6. Press and hold down the red switch to start grinding.
  7. When the coffee beans etc have reached the desired grind (usually after approximately 30 seconds) release the pressure on the lid and switch.
  8. Allow the blades to stop spinning before removing the lid to check the consistency of the grind.
  9. If further grinding is required, replace the lid and repeat the steps above. If the grinder does not operate after replacing the lid check that the rim is free of coffee grounds.
  10. Tip the ground coffee into the filter basket of the coffee maker or espresso machine.
  11. Clean and allow base unit to cool before storing.

NOTE

  • Do not operate for more than 60 seconds. If desired grind is not achieved after 60 seconds of continuous use allow the unit to cool for 60 seconds before restarting.
  • Coffee grounds can be removed from the rim of the grinder using a small brush suitable for food contact.

TO CLEAN

  1. Switch off and unplug.
  2.  Remove the lid and wash in warm water with a little washing up liquid. Rinse and wipe dry.
  3. Taking care not to touch the blades with your hands remove any residual coffee grounds from the base unit using a brush.
  4. Wipe the base unit with a damp cloth, do not use detergent or abrasives as these may scratch the surface.
  5.  Never immerse the base unit, cable or plug in water and this appliance is not suitable for dishwashers.
  6.  Allow to dry thoroughly before using.
  7. Remember if you have ground strong flavors such as coffee beans the flavor will carry over into your next grind unless you have cleaned thoroughly.

PLUG

  1. This appliance has been fitted with a BS UK compliant plug which should not  be replaced or removed.
  2. The plug is fitted with a UK compliant fuse link which is suitable for this type of appliance and should only be replaced by a fuse link of the same rating.
  3. If access to the fuse link is only possible by removing the plug cover this must only be done by a suitably qualified person.
  4. If the plug or the mains cable of this appliance is damaged do not use and dispose of the appliance responsibly.
  5. This appliance is a Class 2 appliance protected by double and reinforced insulation and does not require earthing. Class2 appliances are indicated by  double square box symbol marked on the appliance rating plate.
