  • Use the device in dry indoor environments only.

  • Make sure the main cable stays dry during operation. Do not pinch or damage the main cable in any way.
  • A damaged mains cable or plug must immediately be replaced by an authorized service center.
  • In case of lightning, immediately disconnect the device from the main supply.
  • Children should be supervised by parents when using the device.
  • Clean the device with a dry cloth only.
  • Do NOT use CLEANING AGENTS or ABRASIVE CLOTHS!
  • Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or other heat sources.
  • Install the device at a location with sufficient ventilation in order to prevent heat accumulation.
  • Do not cover the ventilation openings!
  • Install the device at a safe and vibration-free location.
  • Install the device as far away as possible from computers and microwave units; otherwise, radio reception may be disturbed.
  • Do not open or repair the enclosure. It is not safe to do so and will void your warranty. Repairs only by authorized service/ customer center.
  • No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the unit.
  • When you are necessary to ship the unit store it in its original package. Save the package for this purpose.
  • In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge or fast transient (burst), remove and reconnect the power supply.
  • If the unit is not used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the power supply by unplugging the power plug. This is to avoid the risk of fire.

Battery Installation
A T T E N T I O N !!!
On operation with standard/conventional batteries, be sure that the charging switch „RECHARGE“ is on the „OFF“ position, otherwise, the batteries may become hot and explode.

  1. Open the Battery Compartment cover.
  2. Insert 2 batteries ( UM-3, “AA”, LR6 or equivalent ) in the correct polarity as indicated. Heavy-duty batteries are recommended and close the clover.

Note:

  • If you want to use the CD player with batteries, disconnect the AC/DC adapter and set the
    RECHARGE switch to the „OFF” position.

  • Please do not mix old and exhausted batteries or different types.

  • Please remove the batteries when not in use for a longer period of time.

AC Adapter

  1. Make sure that your main supply matches the type plate of the main adapter.
  2. Connect the AC adapter cable to the DC power jack and the AC adapter to a wall outlet.

Rechargeable battery operation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover and insert two of the recommended rechargeable batteries, matching polarity. (Both batteries must be of rechargeable nickel-cadmium type, otherwise, the batteries may explode or leak).

  2. Plug in the AC adaptor and set the Recharge switch to ON position to start charging. (Use only the AC adaptor supplied with the set for charging.)

  3. After 15 hours. Please unplug the AC adaptor and switch the Recharge switch to the “OFF” position (Do not charge continuously for 24 hours or more. Doing so can cause the performance of the rechargeable battery to deteriorate).
    Note: You may play DISCS whilst charging the batteries.

  4. If the operating time decreases drastically even when the rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries are properly recharged, purchase a new set of rechargeable nickel-cadmium
    batteries.

When charging for the first time or after a long time, playing time may be reduced. In this case, charge and discharge the batteries several times.

Low Battery Alert
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, please prepare to replace the new batteries.
Automatic Turn Off
IMPORTANT! If the player is in CD mode in Stop function for approximately 30 seconds, the player will turn off automatically.

BASIC OPERATIONS

Unit On/Off
Turn unit on: Push the “POWER” button in standby mode.
Turn unit off: Push the “POWER” button during on mode.
Selecting Modes
In on mode, press the “MODE” button repeatedly to switch between the modes.
Adjust the volume
Rotate the Volume knob to adjust the desired volume.
Switch off the volume restrictio n
To protect your hearing, after switching on the device, only reduced volume is available. You can switch off this “Volume restriction”.
Press and hold the “EQ / HI VOL” button to de-activate the volume restriction.
Note: The volume restriction is reactivated after switching off or changing the disk.
Anti-Shock Function
The player has an Anti-Shock function. The function is automatically switched on when MP3 is used. For audio CD playback, press the “ASP / PRE” button. “ASP” appears in the display. Todeactivate the anti-shock function, press the “ASP / PRE” key again.

CD

  1. Insert the headphone plug to the “PHONE JACK”.
  2. Slide the “OPEN” knob to the right side and the CD door opens. Put a disc into the CD compartment with the label side upward and close the CD door.
  3. The player now reads the CD, which may take a few seconds.

General Operation
PLAY/PAUSE button

  • Press once to start the playback.
  • Press once again to interrupt the playback.

STOP button

  • Press once to stop the playback.
  • Press the button once again to turn off the player.

SKIP button

  • Press the button to skip to the next track or to the previous track .
  • Press and hold the button to search forward backward.

MENU / P-FUNC

  • Press and hold the button to change the folder (for MP3CD)

Resume function
This player is equipped with a resume function. That means the CD will start automatically at the position, where the CD was stopped by last use.
ATTENTION! This function works only when no other disc was inserted meantime into the player. If you wish to start with track 1, press the button repeatedly until track 1 is shown in the display.
Playing modes
Press repeatedly the “MENU / P-FUNC” button during the playback to change the following functions:

During CD playback

ONE ▪ Repeat the current track
ALL ▪ Repeat the complete disc
INTRO ▪ Play the first 10 seconds of each track
RAND ▪ All the tracks on the disc will be played in random sequence.
No display ▪ Function is de-activated

During MP3-CD Playback

ONE ▪ Repeat the current track
ALL ▪ Repeat the complete disc
DIR ▪ Repeat the complete folder
INTRO ▪ Play the first 10 seconds of each track
RAND ▪ All tracks on the disc will be played in random sequence
No display ▪ Function is de-activated

Program Play
For Audio-CD

  1. In stop mode, press the “MENU / P-FUNC” button. “CD P01” will appear and “00 PROG” is flashing in the display. “P01” means the program number and “00” means the tracking number.
  2. Press the button to select the desired track.
  3. Press the “MENU / P-FUNC” button to enter the track into the memory.
  4. Repeat steps 2 – 3 until all desired tracks are stored (max. 64).
  5. Press the button to start the playback. On the right side of the display will appear the program indicator “P”.
  6. To stop the playback, press the “STOP “button.
  7. To erase the program memory, stop the playback.

For CD-MP3

  1. In stop mode, press the “MENU / P-FUNC” button. “CD P01” will appear and “000 PROG” is flashing in the display. “P01” means the program number and “000” means the tracking number.
  2. Press and hold the “MENU / P-FUNC” button to select the desired folder.
  3. Press the button to select the desired track.
  4. Press the “MENU / P-FUNC” button to enter the folder and the track into the memory.
  5. Repeat steps 2 – 4 until all desired tracks are stored (max. 64).
  6. Press the button to start the playback. On the right side of the display will appear the program indicator “P”.
  7. To stop the playback, press the “STOP ” button and the program memory will be erased.

DAB

NOTE: The headphone cord works as an antenna. To ensure the maximum tuner sensitivity, always keep the headphone cord fully extended!

  1. Insert the plug of your headphone into the phone jack “PHONES”
  2. Press the “POWER” button to turn on the unit.
  3. Press repeatedly the “MODE” button to select the “DAB” mode.
  4. If you select the DAB mode for the first time, the unit starts automatically a full scan and store all available radio stations or you press the “SEARCH” button to start an automatic scan. The display shows the number of the found stations.
  5. Select with the button the desired radio station and press “OK” to confirm.

Save Preset Station

  1. Select with the button the desired radio station and press “OK” to confirm.
  2. Press and hold the “ASP / PRE” button until “Preset store” is shown in the display.
  3. Select with the button the desired station number and press “OK” to confirm.

Recall Preset Station

  1. Press the “ASP / PRE” button. The display shows “Preset recall” in the display.
  2. Select with the button the desired station number and press “OK” to confirm. The unit starts to play the selected radio station.

Information
Press repeatedly the “OK / INFO” button to show the following information: DLS, Genre (PTY), Channel/Frequency, Time/Date, Bitrate.

FM

NOTE: The headphone cord works as an antenna. To ensure the maximum tuner sensitivity, always keep the headphone cord fully extended!

  1. Insert the plug of your headphone into the “PHONO JACK”
  2. Press the “POWER” button to turn on the unit.
  3. Press repeatedly the “MODE” button to select the “FM” mode.
  4. Press the “SEARCH” button press and hold the or button to start an automatic scan. The unit stops at the next available radio station.
  5. To tune the frequency manually, press the button. The unit tune in 50kHz steps.

Save Preset Station
Is the same as in DAB mode.
Recall Preset Station
Is the same as in DAB mode.
Information
Press repeatedly the “OK / INFO” button to show the following information:
Radio Text, Genre (PTY), Time/Date, Frequency.

EQUALIZER

NOTE! The EQ function is only available in CD mode!
During playback, you can choose between the following sound effects: ”BASS, POP, JAZZ, ROCK, CLASSIC” by pressing the “EQ / HI VOL” button repeatedly. To turn off the effects, press the “EQ / HI   VOL” button repeatedly until the “Sound Effects” indicator disappears.

SYSTEM SETTINGS

In DAB or FM mode, press the “MENU / P-FUNC” button to enter the system settings menu. Select with the button one of the following settings and press “OK / INFO” to confirm.

  • Date/Time
    Manual adjustment of date and time

  • System version
    Show the currently installed software version
    Factory reset
    NOTE:
    When resetting the device to factory settings, all stored stations and settings are deleted! Select “Yes” with the button and press “OK / INFO” to confirm. The display shows “Restarting”. After the restart, the unit starts automatically a new DAB station scan.

  • Language
    Select with the button the desired menu language and press “OK / INFO” to confirm.
