Charge your headset with the included adapter.
Charging Instructions

Powering on and off

Toggle headset power on and off by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds. Press for 1 second to show remaining charge.

Putting on your headset for the first time

Your headset needs to be set up before using it for the first time. To set it up, do the following:

  1. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to power on the headset. The headset LED will start blinking when the device turns on. If it doesn’t turn on, make sure the battery is charged.

  2. Turn on the controllers by briefly pressing the VIVE/Menu buttons.
    Note: Controllers come paired with the headset. If the controller LEDs aren’t green, pair them again.

  3. Put on the headset and follow the on-screen instructions to finish Room Setup.

  4. Your headset is now ready to use.

Headset fit

The headset features a quick release button for quick donning and doffing. To quickly don the headset:

  1. Press the quick release button, and then gently pull until fully extended.

  2. Position the headset over your eyes. While holding the quick release button, slide the head strap until it’s flush with the back of your head.

  3. Turn the headset dial to tighten.

  4. When you’re ready to take the headset off, you can use the quick release to release the headband.

Inserting a microSD Card

microSD cards can give you more storage space for your media, as well as provide a convenient way to install custom apps or setup many headsets quickly.

The microSD card slot is under the headset frame, which is held in place by magnets. To install a microSD card:

  1. Remove the frame by gently pulling.

  2. Align your microSD card with the slot, with gold contacts facing out.

  3. Gently push until it clicks into place. Press the card again to eject.

Connecting to a Wi-Fi network

You can add or change networks from settings. Here’s how:

  1. Press the VIVE button on your controller to open the dashboard.
  2. Select More > Wi-Fi on the quick menu. You will be taken to the Settings menu.
  3. Choose a Wi-Fi network to add from the list. If your network is hidden, you can add it manually by selecting Add Network.
  4. If this is the first time you’ve connected to this network, enter your network information.

Your network will now connect if it’s in range. Your previous network will remain saved, so you can easily switch later.
