Introduction:

This product can be operated in any Z-Wave™ network with other Z-Wave Plus™ certified devices from other manufacturers.
All non-battery-operated nodes within the network will act as repeaters regardless of vendor to increase reliability of the network. Each module is designed to act as a repeater,which will re-transmit a radio frequency (RF) signal by routing the signal
around obstacles and radio dead spots to ensure that the signal is received at its intended destination.
MR40Z is a security-enabled Z-Wave Plus™ device. Security Enabled Z-Wave Plus™ Controller must be used in order to fully utilize the product. The Device Type of the MR40Z is PORTABLE REMOTE CONTROLLER
The Role Type of the MR40Z is Reporting Sleeping Slave Role Type.

Key function description

Function 1 : Tap A(1x/2x/3x/4x/5x/Hold/Release) Activate the scene.
Function 2: quickly press 6x upper paddle: ADD (inclusion) (only if switch is not included in network)
Function 3: quickly press 6x lower paddle: Remove (exclusion)
Function 4: quickly press 7x upper paddle: Wake up
Function 5: tap-tap-tap and hold to reset, LED indicator will blink red 5 times to confirm a successful reset
(Node:Please use this procedure only when the network primary controller is missing or otherwise inoperable.)

Adding Your Device To A Hub

The device support two methods of inclusion,When using a Z-Wave Plus™ certified controller choose Network Wide Inclusion or SmartStart, Network Wide Inclusion To A Z-Wave™ Network

1. Refer to your primary controller instructions to process the inclusion/exclusion setup procedure.
2. When prompted by your primary controller, click the Up or Down button six times in one second.

The device is compatible with SmartStart SmartStart enabled products can be added into a Z-Wave™ network by scanning the Z-Wave™ QR Code found on the top of the outlet or the back of the box with a controller providing SmartStart inclusion.No further action is required and the SmartStart product will be added automatically within 10 minutes of being switched on and in the network vicinity.

the QR code are stuck to the side of the case, DSK is included in the QR code. DSK The DSK code can be found on the DSK label which is attached on the packaging box.

Command Class

You may use the below configuration parameters to change settings of the corresponding functionality.

1. LED Indicator Mode
   Paramter No: 1 (0x01) Size:1 Byte (default=1)
   Value: 00 LED always off
   Value: 01 LED normal mode
   Value: 02 LED always on in color specified in Parameter 2
   Value: 03 LED always on in color specified in Parameter 3

2. LED Indicator Color for Upper paddle remote control (Scene 1 activation)
   Paramter No: 2( 0x02) Size:1 Byte (default=1)
   Value: 00 White
   Value: 01 Blue
   Value: 02 Green
   Value: 03 Red
   Value: 04 Magenta
   Value: 05 Yellow
   Value: 06 Cyan

3. LED Indicator Color for Lower paddle remote control (Scene 2 activation)
   Paramter No: 3 (0x03)， Size=1 Byte (default=0)
   Value: 00 White
   Value: 01 Blue
   Value: 02 Green
   Value: 03 Red
   Value: 04 Magenta
   Value: 05 Yellow
   Value: 06 Cyan

Support for Association Groups
MR40Z supports 3 association groups. Group 1 supports 1 node ID,Group 2 and Group 3 Supports maximum of 5 node ID’s Association group_1:Z-Wave Plus™ Lifeline  Association group_1 is default to associate with the primary controller (Gateway/Hub/Controller) for MR40Z Status change report, Association group_1 is default to associate with the primary controller (Gateway/Hub/Controller) for MR40Z Status change report,  (ex.Battery Report/Central Scene Notification/ Device Reset Locally Notification/Indicator Report)

Association group_2:BASIC SET

1. Up button press 1x send basic set 0xff
2. Down button press 1x send basic 0x00 Association group_3:SWITCH_MULTILEVEL_CHANGE

1. Up/Down button hold more than 0.5s send SWITCH_MULTILEVEL_START_LEVEL_CHANGE(Dim Up/Dim Down)
2. Up/Down button release send SWITCH_MULTILEVEL_STOP_LEVEL_CHANGE

Restoring Factory Defaults

MR40Z is removed from the network and will be restored to the factory setting
All Configuration Parameters values and Association information will be restored to factory default settings and excluded from the network. Manual Reset:tap-tap-tap and hold to reset, LED indicator will blink red 5 times to confirm successful reset
Remark: All the settings and data will be permanently deleted. Please use this procedure only when the network primary controller is missing or otherwise inoperable.
